This community is for discovering and discussing the best iPad apps.
Direct links to iTunes are fine, but links preferably go to a review or to the app website itself.
Good sites so far:
You're welcome to submit apps that you've developed yourself!
Developer perspectives and articles are great and add considerably to the community.

Hey! It's kinda sad that the iPad doesn't come with a default calculator app by Apple and, most of the third-party options suck. So, being a product designer and iOS dev I've decided to design and build a great one myself and I'd love your help in doing it.
I've designed a great survey. Do check it out, you won't be bored :) Thanks so much! Find the link below 👇

Firstly, I know the built-in preview app is fully capable of signing a pdf. What I'm looking for however is maybe a companion app for an iPad that can be paired with a desktop client on a Mac. I want to be able to send a document from the Mac to the iPad and have the iPad automatically open that document, allow you to sign it, and then send it back to the Mac. Maybe I'm just having trouble wording my search, but I have not found any apps which are able to do that so far. Any suggestions?
I’m looking for an app that uses something like tiles to use as a to-do/Priority app. I want to be able to move times up and down as priorities change. The ideal app would work across my whole Apple ecosystem. I used something like this in the past but can’t remember the app.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/numms/id1644598526
Numms is a fully responsive calculator that adapts to the screen of the iPad when using the Stage Manager or a split view. It also works on the iPhone. Some other functionalities include:
Context. I’d need it for a very specific use. I’m deaf and using the Mac I can select “EqMac” as both a) the streaming audio output and 2) sound source for most transcription softwares (like Ava and more). I’d need something really similar in my iPad as well. For now such softwares only catch ”ipad microphone”. That’s not optimal since it requires the device speakers’s audio to play aloud. Put in other words, I need some internal path for audio so that I can optimise transcriptions in ipad.
Every time I try and log into my SkyGo app on my iPad 10th generation, it instantly pops up with “sorry, due to a technical fault you are unable to view this channel right now”. I’ve reinstalled, and re-download twice now and still the same thing. Have also checked for updates and no change. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone in here “brainstorm” their patterns and stuff first? Like draw them up and plan them out?! I make sweaters and recently got an iPad and can’t find a good app that’s easy to draw something out, crop it, duplicate it and move it around the picture easily? I tried adobe fresco but can’t figure it out and pro create has too many inbetween steps almost? Y’all know what I’m trying to say or am I just blabbering?? 🤣🤣🤣
Any help is appreciated I just wanna be able to make up my patterns beforehand so I know how many damn squares to make and what goes where 😅
I just got a iPad Air 5, a Apple Pencil 2, and a keyboard for that iPad.
I'm planning to use it to take notes during lectures and the textbook (some classes asynchronous or synchronous online), do homework from the textbook (usually done on loose leaf paper, so I wouldn't use as much paper and would not have to scan that paper to upload and turn it in, so an app that can turn those pages into a pdf would be helpful), some light media consumption, YouTube, Netflix, etc., and any other tasks that it could do.
What apps would you recommend for notes and editing pdf, or apps that could take stuff you do and export it as a pdf? I know about goodnotes, but I saw that it's now on a subscription for AI features, so I'm not sure if that's the best option. Any other app recommendations for university? Are there any other ways I could use the iPad? Any other advice? Thanks for reading and hopefully sharing some advice!
Hi, folks.
My name is Matthias, I'm the developer behind Yoink, Transloader, ScreenFloat and a couple of others, and I've recently released a new app: Tameno.
It lets you set up a repeating interval, for example, 10 seconds. Now, every 10 seconds, you get an "alert" that tells you the interval has passed. Useful for repetitive tasks, like brushing your teeth, or watering your plants equally. Customers are already using it for their Yoga exercises, and even animating 3D content on their Macs.
It's a universal purchase and available for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
For more information and videos, here's my blog post about it.
I hope you'll like it!
See you around : )
I’m looking for a simple pomodoro timer app for iPad that has the POP OUT feature, so I can see the timer running and keep it in a corner of my screen, like it’s available in windows, please recommend
Im searching for some kind of a huge sound library where i can search for anything i think of whether its music or a sound effect like a battle cry, download it and then put it in an animations im animating.
Or something close to it.
Thanks!
I am taking a Japanese course and the workbook is a PDF file. I was wondering if there was an app I can use that would allow me to use my pen to write on the PDFs and complete the exercises?
Free apps preferably unless it's something amazing.
Thanks!
Looking to hopefully use something like Epic Pen on my iPad. Any ideas? Doceri does this but isn't free. Looking to plug iPad into my work PC and write on the screen as an overlay, not in a whiteboard environment. Examples https://youtu.be/aMwTok0EfnM
ClassifyML is an application for creating specialised image datasets for use with an ML training algorithm. Simply import your chosen images into the app via file manager, drag'n'drop or the on device camera and create your bounding boxes and then export your images and JSON into a structured folder.
A typical use case would be to create the data for your chosen use in-app then export to Apple's CreateML Application for training. From then you can integrate into your recognition / detection / classification apps.
i've been searching far and wide for years to no avail, so i've come to desperate measures to draw out what at i remember of it. afaik it's a running game where you go through obstacles with two characters, a devil and an angel on each side of the screen (top/bottom) and it flips when you wanna switch into one of them! when you die too, you're greeted with sugar skulls to bury the characters somewhere. if anyone's got a clue, please let me know!

How to define this app?
If you’re sick of the 100 year old goodnotes or notability debate,
If you wish you had more “space” for your notes, pictures and reading materials, instead of scrolling pages,
If you liked the idea of freeform but the execution fell short,
If you enjoy mindmaps and visuals but those apps focus too much on graphics and not enough on structure,
and if you wish there was a faster better stronger new app on the block without a monthly subscription price tag.
It’s available for iPad only on the AppStore.
Using iPad Pro with Pencil, and can’t settle on one app to take and keep notes and clippings and such.
Thoughts? Preferences?
Fairy PDF Reader is a PDF reader I originally made for myself, and it ended up being in the app store. It has many nice features, like:-
Full keyboard shortcuts:- People use their iPads (and maybe even their iPhones), with keyboards attached these days. I do it myself, and I wanted to have the same control I can have on PC or Mac on my apps. While not all apps give us that, I added that to my own PDF reader. You can use all the app features using either touch or the keyboard.
Zoom-lock, which helps you zoom to a part of the page, and it stays that way when you turn the page.
Smart taps:- For the lack of better description, this is what I decided to call it. Usually, E-Readers of all kinds shows the toolbar and/or navigation every time you tap on the screen. That can cause you to accidentally show them often, which is annoying... Fairy PDF Reader is smart about that, it only shows these when you tap at the top of the screen, and it hides it when you tap anywhere on the screen. It makes it harder to accidentally show them.. Additionally, if you have some text selected, tapping on the screen unselect the text, to do anything else, you have to tap again.
Cloud storage services integrations:- You can very easily link the app to your cloud file service, and import PDF files directly from there, with a flick of a button.
It remembers the words you translated using the "Translate & Save" feature. That can be useful if you want to expand your vocabulary, or if you want to learn a second language.
Wi-Fi import:- Import PDF files via your computer via Wi-Fi, both the iOS device & the computer needs to be on the same network for that to work.
Universal App:- You can use it on both iPad & iPhone.
These are roughly the main features of the app. It's still at the beginning, and I intend to add more features in the future, if there's demand on it.
You can check out the app page on the app store here:-

Any thoughts on the last one? I think I found options for the first bullet.
