so I this movie affected me a great deal when it came out and I imagine I must easily be up to 30+ viewings by now. I'm almost tempted to make my own Superfan Cut of this movie. I would literally only change / cut minutes, but I think the movie would actually improve as a result. Sure, it's perfect enough as is but hear me out:

One of the most cringy things in the entire movie is when Amelia talks about being in love with Wolf Edmunds and about how she feels drawn across the universe to visit him. I understand that it's foreshadowing in the sense that his planet ends up being habitable, but the cringe in that scene is just way. too. much. Above all, it contradicts her character. Until that scene, she was the one who was scoffing and clowning on Cooper for asking stupid / unscientific questions as they were rebooting their engine on the water planet. Her monologue about love is damn near insufferable. What I would do is cut the worst cringe but retain the essence of the conversation, I can easily see a decent way to do it here, you wouldn't have to take out too much for the back and forth to still make sense. I understand that someone might say that the dialogue has a point because the movie is about love, and in this scene we see Amelia abandon science for love, for a moment, I get it. But fuck, man, it's still pure cringe to witness somehow!

The second part I would alter just a tiny bit is towards the end of the movie when we alternate between Murph in her childhood home / in the cornfield and Cooper in the black hole. I think we don't need to go back and forth quite that much, you could let the Murph scenes run twice as long in some parts, and I feel like the film would feel slightly less choppy as a result.

What do you think? Is anyone else bothered by the cheese in Amelia's monologue? Is there anything you would change, if you could?

I know it's supposed to save humanity and stuff but how? What even was the equation solving for? I thought it might be some sort of theory of everything (theory that unifies quantum mechanics and general relativity, basically explaining how everything in the universe works) because a big part of the reason scientists haven't been able to make this theory is because they can't figure out gravity. Also, they mentioned in the movie that without the black hole data, the equation couldnt reconcile general relativity and quantum mechanics. But even if this was the case, I don't see how that would save humans?

How come 5D beings (evolved human beings again) didn't communicate directly with people on Earth? In the black hole, Cooper explained this but I didn't get it. Make me understand this guys

Hey all! I'm not sure if this has been shared here before (it probably has). But I thought with the Imax re-release just around the corner, I'd share a YouTube link of Kip Thorne explaining the Science of Interstellar at a University lecture. He goes into great detail (not as detailed as his book however) explaining which is parts are firm science and which are speculative. He also talks a bit about the making of the movie. I learned a lot of new things watching this. Anyway, hope you all enjoy!

It would be my first time watching this movie on IMAX and I really want that to happen, but, after reading too many articles, I found a wide variety of responses, like it will release worldwide with the option of 70mm IMAX or digitally in the normal theater, others said in select cities and not worldwide, while others said that it will only release in IMAX that's compatible with 70mm screenings wherever in the world plus a collector's edition of Blu-ray discs of the movie. I have no idea and I just want to know whether it will re-release worldwide or not, I'm from Mexico and I would really want to know if it will at least come out there.

Someone please tell ne.. I ma waiting for this movie to return for years. I don't want it to not be in cinemas due to some random movie that is not even shot with Imax cameras to be released in Imax, taking place of Interstellar. If someone knows the details please tell

So in the simplest terms i can put it.

Cooper and Brands scenes at the end show her on a new planet and Cooper in that ship hanger or whatever. If Cooper aged decades in the blackhole, is the final 2 scenes decades apart, so in real time (Coopers scene) was Brand decades older, and in Brands scene that was decades prior to Cooper scene.

What i said felt very repetitive but this movie is too damn confusing but i love rewatching it.

Figured this is the best place for someone who might actually be interested in going - I have two extra tickets for the 1030pm Saturday show in Edmonton, Alberta, right in the middle, H12 and 13. Ended up I can’t go (I also have tix for Sunday and Tuesday so I’m not missing anything). Not looking to profit, just ask you pay what I paid, but Facebook marketplace won’t let me sell them…

Hi, this is my first post on reddit but it might be the only place to potentially get an answer to this seemingly blaring issue. Okay so at 1:52:00, Dr. Mann throws Coopers long range transmitter into a huge crevasse right in front of them. He then proceeds to push Cooper into it and a fight ensues, However, at 1:53:48, when we get a distant shot at the place in which they are fighting, the closest thing to the crevasse we saw previously is a big "shallow" hole which leads the the next layer of frozen clouds but that couldn't possibly be the crevasse we saw previously. Not to mention the fact that the cliff has disappeared.

I have been searching for a while for a solution to this issue but I haven't found anything close to an answer, let alone anyone else mentioning this issue. Am I missing something here? Where does the crevasse go? Is it just a shooting mistake? Seems kind of obvious but okay...

Any compelling theory is appreciated :)

I was coordinating with the kid on times and then forgot. Earlier this week there were loads of seats but the only seats available today were dead centre in the front row.

But I’m still going.
