Went to my local business Costco and found them selling boxes of mi goreng!
I got my hands on a bunch of stir fry cups, and I really loved yellow curry and chicken teriyaki.
What a pleasure! I don't know how "Korean" it tastes, but I very much enjoyed the subtle sweetness and perfect heat level. I don't go for insane heat like some folks, so the slight tingle I got from this smooth blend of rice and noodle bits. The carrot and cabbage bits added some nice texture too.
Another pleasing entry from Nissin.
Hello! I’d love some help finding a specific ramen brand I used to eat a LOT, pre-2010. It’s been years and I haven’t been able to find it again. Some details I remember:
It was sold in 99 Ranch Market, and was either a Japanese or Chinese brand
I believe it was a premium ramen, it was more expensive than other ramens and it was super high quality
It came in only boxed packs. The outside packaging was a mix of greens, tans, black, yellow. and the actual cups were cylindrical and sturdy, shorter and wider than your typical Nissan ramen cup/bowl, with a clear plastic cap
as far as flavor, I don’t remember it being meaty or seafood-y at all. I’d say more veggie-garlic-seaweed forward broth. one of the included seasoning packets was an oily greenish almost black concoction that reminded me of seaweed
noodles were light colored and not really curly
Any suggestions or recommendations, I’m all ears!!!
I was at Costco today and I grabbed a pack of the tonkatsu ramen when an employee asked me if I had tried these yet. She had two packs sitting in a cart next to her where she was giving out samples. I love hot and sour soup so I immediately put the tonkatsu back and got these instead. I just finished a bowl and they’re sooooo gooooood!!! Has anyone else tried them yet?
I'm going to the Asian Market tomorrow. What Ramen, sauces or specialties would you recommend? I plan on making this trip, my only grocery trip for the month. I have a budget of $150.
I have tried Shin Ramen Black and will definitely be purchasing more.
I grew up in a household where people didn’t even use pepper. I’ve been experimenting with trying more spicy food, but even with a glass of milk I think this was too much for me lol. I still have four packs left, so maybe I’ll experiment with using parts of the sauce or adding milk/cream to it next. Any recommendations?
I’m gonna be honest it, thinking about it, it doesn’t sound too bad. I’ve heard of cream cheese in Ramen. I’m just curious if it is even good?
Hard to see the cheese since I used shredded Mexican-style cheese blend. Breaking up and mixing the eggs with the cheese and lil bit of sauce was great. Need some comfort food as I’m about to take the LSAT in a couple days.
Im wanting to try new ramen but i want to avoid those i maybe wont like thank you
Been thinking about this, i know seafood ramen is huge but it’s not really the same flavour. Never seen salmon ramen but would be interested to try as salmon is my favourite fish.
I've watched videos for the last few years extolling the virtues of instant noodles. Well I finally took the plunge and I am here to tell you that I am ALL IN!!!
These are delicious. Not too spicy and pared well with a jammy egg, mushrooms, green onion, carrot sticks and yellow pepper. I just wish I knew what they were or if I cooked them right. lol
I'll definitely be buying them again and again.
Both me and my daughter didn’t like this. Didn’t taste like beef really. It was honestly more “fishy” tasting or something. I’m sure I’m in the minority here but I was curious if others had the same experience with it?
.
All of a sudden, this flavour made sense! Definitely reminiscent of times I’ve loaded up red sauce pasta with hot sauce and fist fulls of pre shredded cheese.
Picked this up in a recent haul, and I'm blown away!
It came with a liquid sauce packet as opposed to a powder seasoning packet. The flavor was delightful, almost just like real Udon. That salty, ever so slightly vinegared taste. Plus, some dehydrated fish cakes and tempura shrimp! The noodles had a nice chew, and it was a satisfying soup experience.
Solid 9/10 from me, would buy again.
I’ve never had either, which should I try tonight?
