The Last Crusade as the hinge of the series.

I grew up with the original three but it strikes me now how young Indy looks in Raiders and ToD and how much he'd aged by Crusade. He's clearly middle aged. While KotCS and DoD clearly deal with themes regarding his age, he's so young in ToD and Raiders that TLC kind of stands out now as an odd one in the bunch. Now, in a five film series, it feels more like a transition film between two eras of the same character: his youth and his old age. The fact that his father features in it and they resolve their issues helps support my idea.

I want ... an extended cut of the ToD

I know, I know...Spielberg hates ToD. But there were so many scenes that were actually filmed for this movie that were left on the cutting room floor; a whole exchange between the Maharaja and Short Round...Willie escaping (which you actually see in the movie she does) and going to Captain Blumburtt and the Prime Minister only to be lured into false sense of security. Extended dialogue for the dinner scene...Shortround figuring out how to save Indy...I want it all. For the GOAT.

I like Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull more than Temple Of Doom and Dial Of Destiny

I'm not saying Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull doesn't have it's flaws but I think the hate is over the top. I don't find aliens a big stretch in a series that contains gods, the fountain of youth and voodoo. I also don't find the fridge scene any sillier than the raft scene in Temple Of Doom. Harrison Ford may have aged but he still feels like Indy, he still has the taste for adventure and has the charm. Not a fan of Shia LeBeouf but he was ok, I think Mutt worked fine as a sidekick/son without getting in the way. I really enjoyed Cate Blanchett as the villain, she was so much fun. I love the return of Karen Allen, the chemistry with Ford from the first film is still there. I love the ending it ends Indy on a strong note.

I get the appeal of Temple Of Doom it's pretty dark and is brilliantly made with effects that aged well and an amazing production design, as a standalone adventure/horror film it’s a good film if it was not an Indiana Jones film I'd give it higher praise. I get the impression they were trying to be subversive but went too far. It feels the most of place in the series, it's a prequel but why? We learn nothing about Indy in the film, none of the other characters show up again so you wouldn't miss anything if you skipped it. Willie is so annoying I just can't stand her, maybe her whining was supposed to be funny but I never laughed.

Dial Of Destiny ends Indy on an underwhelming note. While I felt Crystal Skull handled aged Indy well, this one didn't, he's lost all of his charm and is forced into the adventure. They took Crystal Skull's happy ending and took a dark turn with it, killing off Mutt and have Marion divorcing him. Mads Mikkelson is surprisingly forgettable as the villain. I hate Helena, she's not annoying like Willie but framing her godfather for murder is awful, which they never resolve, then forcibly give her an epiphany to make her the hero, essentially stealing his hat. Because of her we had an extremely anticlimactic ending. Karen Allen only gets a cameo for a forced happy ending with Marion. To add salt to the wound Karen Allen was willing to come back join in on the adventure and was left disappointed to only get a cameo.

What's the best Grail Diary replica as of right now?

Hi, I've read older posts about Ramseyprops, but that this guy got booted from Etsy for being non-responsive or something. So as of right now, what's the best quality Grail diary replica? I see Redrommel and Swak props on Etsy, and those look pretty good to my untrained eye, but are there others elsewhere that are preferred? Thanks!

Opinions on Kingdom of The Crystal Skull? First time here.

So i just watched the fourth indy movie yesterday as it was the last one i had yet to see and i was honestly very shocked by the film. My dad is a big time indy fan, regarding it as one of his childhood favorites and heroes (both him and Han Solo) and he thinks that Kingdom is the worst in the franchise, enjoying Dial more. I like Kingdom more as it feels more lighthearted. So with that out of the way, what is your opinion? Do you agree with any of the takes?

Does anyone remember a set of small Indy posters from 1984 that could be flipped over to form one giant poster of the Temple of Doom teaser?

I was a huge Indy fan as a kid, and distinctly remember collecting a set of smaller posters that were double-sided, that could be flipped and combined into the one huge poster pictured here. I even hung the huge poster on the ceiling above my bed. (I was a weird kid.) This would have been probably right around the time Temple of Doom came out in 1984.

I could have sworn this was a fast food promo, but Google is turning up nothing on it, so it could have been from something else.

There were probably either four or six smaller posters in the set, although I suppose there could have been as few as two, or as many as eight.

Anyone else remember these, or am I crazy?

Indiana Jones swearing

In Temple of Doom Indiana Jones says “shit.”

Is that the only time he swears in the entire series?
