i have the T16000m. the joystick is working in the game but the throttle not?

they were both working in ace combat 7.

I have a Meta Quest 3 and use openXR to run IL2.

When I am playing IL2 for a while my controllers go to sleep. When that happens the game closes to the Quest Link home screen with a pop up saying "your controllers can't be found. Please pick up your controllers to continue..."

Is there any way around this without having to move the controllers every few minutes?

Google does not seem to be very helpful with this so far.

So me and my friend are thinking of buying il 2 as it is on discount and I was wondering. If I own the arado 234 does my friend also have to own it to fly with me as a bombardier?

Looking at a meta quest 2 for VR. Do I need controllers for anything at all?

This is my first real flight sim so i want to buy a flight stick, throttle thingy and maybe pedals if they are needed. I have a decent but not that big of a budget.

I was looking at the Logitech G940 Stikke, but im not sure so i thought i would consult the community first.

Is it working ? Is it worth it ?

I'm about 150 hours into IL-2 1946 and I've noticed recently that more and more often my game ends up randomly stuttering, freezing and then crashing to desktop. Specs wise I have a 3070 and everything else can handle this game, is this a common issue that others have found? I've found it to occur at random times during quick builder offline flights. Any advice or helpful note would be appreciated!

Also another noob question - how do I move in flight messages to the centre of the screen? I've seen it in other vids around town but haven't found any helpful info on such a topic, cheers! :)

Hello all, first post here, so please be kind.

Are there any mods out there to improve gun sounds? I’ve checked the usual places but haven’t found anything. 

I've been playing IL2GB since its release, and last year, I finally decided to go all out-I built myself a monster PC and got a Pimax Crystal headset with the DMAS headphone attachment. I've tried multiple VR games besides IL2, including other flight sims. Yes, that includes War Thunder (please don’t run me out of here, lol). I stopped playing dedicated WT years ago because I can't stand these F2P, grind-heavy, multiplayer war games (WT, WoWS, WoT) and have never been a fan of multiplayer PVP combat games in general (I love me some co-op though). I’ve always preferred the more laid-back style which goes all the way back to the good old days of Combat Flight Simulator 3, and that is just getting into my favorite planes and playing a full single-player career over a large theater map. That made switching to IL2 full-time a no-brainer for me. That being said, I still occasionally return to WT to test-fly planes, and when I do, it's always in full sim mode. 

Graphically, IL2 in VR is FAR superior to WT and it’s not even close. 

Sound-wise, though, it's a different story. I feel that the engine sound quality in both is about on par (though that might just be a matter of one’s personal taste, I personally will give the edge to IL2), but the gun sounds are a different story. On that front, I have to hand it to WT.

The “oomph” factor when you pull the trigger in WT planes while wearing a VR is INSANE, especially when you’re firing 50 cals (don’t get me started on the F-86’s M3 50 cals, hoooooly smokes). In IL2, when you have the camera outside the plane the gun sounds are okay-ish, but when you go into first-person, the in-cockpit guns in IL2 sound very muted in comparison, almost like pea shooters. 

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hoping for some advice. I have a new pc being delivered next week. For context this is my 1st gaming pc, moving from ps5 (very excited).

Specs are: gtx4080/ 7800x3d /32gb ram.

Will be diving into IL-2 as it seems perfect what I am looking for and reminds me of Ms combat sim!

I had a look on steam, and there are loads of different versions and campaigns to pick from.

I'll be starting with solo play, so was wondering where to start and what people would recommend?

They are both on sale till November 3rd. Obviously rise of flight is a lot cheaper. I’m primarily interested in playing career mode in either one as I’m not particularly good yet. I’m wondering which one makes more sense to buy? What are the features I will be missing in FC? I’m not interested in playing in VR btw. Also it seems like I do more damage to planes in rise of flight than what I’ve seen in FC. It takes more bullet: to kill stuff in fc it looks like.

I just bought IL2: Battle of Stalingrad on a discount on Steam cause it felt like a good combat flight game.

However, everything is locked except for quick mission. All Campaigns has a lock icon on it.

Also, I have no experience whatsoever on Combat Flight games except for some BattleField 1942 about a decade ago.

Where can I found some sort of a tutorial for IL2?

Do I have to purchase campaigns separately? (probably DLCs?)

I was think that the CLOD campaign, which I personally really enjoyed, should be doable in BoS with the Normandy map (although no Do 17 unless I’m mistaken). Has anything like this been done?

I’ve been working on my trackIr settings and got most of it in a good spot using trackhat except it snaps on me in certain moments out of nowhere. I know about light interference etc and have eliminated all of that.

For instance, when I’m in the middle of a loop and look up and diagonal to my 10 or 2 o’clock all of a sudden my view snaps to the inside of my cockpit or does some other wonky snap.

Its horrible when in an intense dogfight and I’m trying to go inverted and as I swoop down trying to keep track of my enemy I’m all of a sudden looking in some direction I don’t want to be.

I’m using a 34” curved LG

Anyone else deal with this?

Does anyone have or know where I can find a diagram of the P51 B/C gauge layout?
