I need to free up some space on my SSD and want to uninstall Il-2, but I have put a ridiculous amount of time into binding the controls and I really don't want to go through that again if/when I re-install the game. If I uninstall Il-2 (Steam version) will I lose all of my keybinds and control settings?

I recently tried to get VR working for the first time and I was able to get it working through airlink I believe the other day, however im having trouble connecting tonight, I was wondering if there was anybody else who plays in VR who could maybe give me an idea or an alternative?

Curious to see if anyone had experience enabling the latest NVIDIA drivers and how you did it. Thanks!

I got my channel deleted for hate speech on youtube for making mostly IL-2 videos.
It seems like youtube got sensitive to ww2 content (thats my theory), and im not the only channel that has been getting struck by false allegations of hate speech.

Hey guys, for some god forsaken reason, IL2 BoX is recognizing my Orion 2 throttle as buttons instead of axis. And yes I did try both 4x32 mode and the normal one ,Anyone can help?

I've had this question for a few days and I wanted to know if the Karelia map will be a DLC or a map together with the Odessa DLC.

I am running IL-2 in VR on the oculus quest 3 using OpenComposite on a Windows 11 PC. The game was running fine and the buttkicker was working with Andre’s software and all, however now in the game the sound is not working, but I do feel the buttkicker working.

When I hit the Oculus quest 3 menu while in the game, the game’s sound comes on. When I close the oculus quest menu the game’s sound goes away.

I updated pertinent drivers, I reinstalled the oculus & buttkicker software, Updated OpenComposite, I checked sound settings and nothing seems to work.

Has anyone had this weird problem?

I watched a UT video which stated I could assign a default skin for my plane in my pilot dossier, I was able to change my player picture but nothing happens when I click on the photo of the plane (a blue box opens stating "change plane skin" when mouse hovers over picture).

Does this not work in version 17 of the PWCG or do I need to configure something else?

In short - I have been playing Il2 Sturmovik (classic version, Forgotten Battles and 1946) since 2009. I'm a laptop user, got no joystick. As the steam sales kick in, I was thinking about getting CoD or BoS. However - I just don't know which one to get. I don't have much time, because of my work, so I'm kinda really lazy to get some background info on each title so I just want to ask the community here - which one is, in your opinion, worth it more? CoD or BoS? What are the cons and pros?

I know that, for IL-2 Great Battles, PWCG is a must when it comes to generate a semi dynamic campaign. I'm using the word "semi" because Falcon BMS exists.

So, I heard good things about Rise of Flight Career. In this case, The PWCG for Rise of Flight (I'm using version 3.3.2 is far superior than the vanilla Career mode? I imagine that there must be a reason why people prefer it over the vanilla one for RoF.

I know the reasons for IL-2, but tell me:

Is the Career mode for RoF that better than the one for IL-2 Great Battles?

Is PWCG a must on this one the same way is a must for IL-2?

And a question of mine that I was curious to know

Finally watched Ninnys video on how to fly and learned about trimming.

I thought it was just for flying for long period but not having to fight plane when aiming is actually game changing

Is there a buyers guide? It's frankly overwhelming and i don't have the money to buy everything. Is it worth to get the transport planes? Flying circus is something i really want pick up but there are also 4 versions of it.

I've been flying 10 years ago with x52 hotas and selfmade trackIR clip mainly in war thunder.

In summer 2014 I bought early access for il-2 Boss but unfortunately my PC was not powerful enough to run it. I quickly lost the fun with it and depressed as I was sold all my flight sim kit.

Now I want to do a comeback. Already ordered a Ursa minor from fighter, bought a ps3 eye cam and built a new trackIR clip.

Any tips you can give me which resources to utilize to have a satisfying start in IL-2?

I have had a problem with RTB (Return To Base) for some time. Each mission I go and complete the objective yet the AI formation breaks up thus causing me to lose situational awareness. Dead Reckoning takes to much workload and visual flying is hard to do on laptop. I also don't like the map as that seems a tad unrealistic.

Enthusiast of WW2 airplanes, looks like IL2 is a great option for me....but which one?

Its been ~20+ years since I did combat flight sims. At that time, it was Air Warrior (anyone remember this?) before EA bought and shut down. At that time I was using a Saitek X36 joystick and throttle. I liked this set up, but being left handed always wondered if I would prefer a yoke. I also don't want rudder pedals, wondering how current joysticks/yokes engage rudder.

So, I guess I'm looking for suggestions on which version of IL2 to get (I think I would be getting from Steam) and which joystick/Yoke.

Hi, Just got the main game and am loving it in VR. I've got about £30 spare and really don't know to get the Normandy deluxe bundle or get the base Normandy DLC and Flying Circus vol 1. Any pro/cons for either choice? TIA

because there is a discount on il 2 products I decided to complete my fleet of planes and buy more battles. I noticed that there may be problems with access to the collector's plane in a given career. my question is. which of the yaks is available from the beginning of the career in the battle of kuban 1b or 9. I bet that 9 will be available later like la 5f or fn. I also have a question about fw 190 a3. when can I fly it in the battle of stalingrad. the last issue is la5 f and fn i know they are not at the beginning but are they available at the same time or fn later. the point is not to waste money on a plane i wont fly in the campaign. i am not interested in mp.

So, I have been flying for a few months now. Trim settings have always worked fine and as expected. In the last two weeks they have completely lost any affect on the aircraft. I can see the percentages changing in technochat and I can physically see them moving in the external cams, but they have zero effect on the actual trim of the plane. I have gone from simple to hardcore plane management in that time if that were to have any correlation. Kind of at my wits end as there are some planes that are nearly impossible to fly without trim settings as they want to shoot up to the moon.

I have checked my joystick inputs as well and they are dead center in both windows/dxtweak and in IL2 itself.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Hey guys, quick and dumb question: Every time I run IL2 Sturmovik, there's absolutely no way I can windows + D to desktop or any other shortcut, I get stuck in the game and the only way to leave is by the exit game button.

I constantly have to completely shut the game to do anything like read a message. Extremely annoying. Does anyone know whats going on?
