I play mostly career and a part from some bugs the ai is pretty fun to dogfight in bodenplatte and stalingrad, I know people complained a lot about it in FC DLC but its been so long, I wonder if things got better
I've seen that my Il-2 1946 (both vanilla and with BAT mod) only has few detailed campaigns, like the dynamic soviet fighter campaign, but I feel like other campaigns such as an american fighter pilot campaign isn't as detailed as the soviet. The soviet campaign has more accurate missions, features enemy aces and is way more realistic.
I wish I could play more detailed campaigns as these but with other nations, what do I do? Is it just for me that there is this imbalance in the campaigns quality?
Hello, deep discount I see. I really like games like DCS, but I'm having trouble figuring out what I'm purchasing. Is it like DCS where I get one plane for purchasing the game, and the rest are DLC? Or is it more like a game that can be played independent of buying additional aircrafts but I will end up wanting more aircrafts? Additionally, is there enough content just to buy it for single player, or would that be stupid?
I’m getting back into IL-2 Sturmovik after some time away. Currently i only own the base game IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad edition and none of the DLCs. However, I noticed they’ve released the Flying Circus volumes, which looks really fun.
Here’s where I need your help:
I’m not overly picky about specific aircraft I’m aiming to explore a bit of everything eventually. But for now, I’d like to hear what you think is worth prioritizing to get the best start with DLCs.
Hi all, during my career missions, my laptop starts dropping FPS to the point of being unplayable. I have the in game FPS counter on the top right of my screen, and it shows a stable count of 60 on average (I don’t have it limited in the in-game settings). MP runs completely smooth.
My career settings are as follows;
I have an Alienware m15 R7, specs are as follows;
I noticed this initially on the Normandy map, during D-Day when there are lots of units crammed into a small area. I’ve started a career in the Moscow map, and now it’s affected in the same way.
Excuse my naivety when it comes to computer jargon, I don’t really have an advanced understanding.
To clarify, I’m running the game with my graphics card, in the NVIDIA program.
My graphic settings are all set to “ultra” FWIW.
I noticed this during the update when we got the new career settings options (to change parity, AAA and ground numbers, air numbers etc), my best guess that there are units in the background beyond visual range that are bogging down my laptop. This has never been an issue before and can run the most demanding games without issues.
Please feel free to explain to me like I’m 5 if need be 😅
Many thanks in advance, and I’ll see you in the virtual skies. S!
I'm thinking about going back to the game and career mode is my favorite by far. However bodenplatte featured suuuuper long flights and some bugged missions (I'm looking at you tempest ground attack missions)
Anyway, I know ww1 planes are slower but I'm guessing ww1 careerap is also smaller so is it enough to make flights less navigating and more pew pewing?
Graphics and everything else about the sim is ok but campaign is extremely boring and repetitive. Missions where I encounter nobody in the target area. bomber escorts where no enemy tries to intercept them at all. Missions feel empty and lacking of any fun at all, they are not even historical missions so at least why aren't the developers making them more fun?.
I cannot understand why it's so difficult for the developers if they cannot create historically accurate missions at least design a campaign that is fun to play.
Hello everyone,
Is there a way to remove the plane icons from the map and briefing in PWCG campaigns? Thanks.
After the new update, my personal custom photos in the cockpit show up as blank. The files I replaced the defaults with had been "repaired" back to the defaults with the update, and when I put them back they show up as just a black square in-game. Anybody else have this problem, or a solution?
I am fully supportive of those interested starting new posts, and hope they still keep asking questions, but I think it would be worth it for the community to develop a sticky about jumping into the game for those that don't want to make a post, possibly in the following format:
Apologies if we have made one of these before.
I know this would have encouraged me to start playing sooner
Since all the modules/base game are up to 75% off on steam today I decided to take the plunge.
I’m mainly debating between the Normandy and Bodenplatte modules, to get some of the late war Western Front planes. Which of these would you recommend or is there another module that would be better?
Also, are there any campaigns that would be recommended for a new player? I’m very new to flight sims, so I’ll probably be exhausting most of the single player content before trying out multiplayer.
Thank you in advance!
I mapped a lot of buttons, but not a single one does that it should. I still can't trim, have no throttle, no rudder. The only thing that works is centering my view.
Hey guys, im just now getting into combat sims and specifically for WW1 & WW2 only (dont really care about modern jets and what not) and was looking to get some opinions on what type of set ups are recommended and/or what you run.
Currently looking at this VKB GNX WW2, VKB GNX THQ, and VKB GNX SEM for extra key bindings. Also with a head tracker which im yet to look for so if anyone had some recommendations.
Theoretically this should be all I really need for a decent start up, correct? Not getting pedals as I read you dont really need them unless you are going all out on the simulation which for right now, I'll wait on. Any other suggestions, or should I be good with this?
In this pass I managed to destroy 2 x buildings and 1 x Howitzer.
Nothing happens if I try throttling up or down. Do I need to bin that first?
I use a Quest 2 and as soon as I launch the Game via Steam while having Quest like activated my PC switches all Audio to VR, but when I switch back to my headphones the sme has no Sound.
i want to get into il2 but what are some things i should get like is it playable with controller or mouse or do i really need a stick?
Can anyone give me a list of the minimum things i should get?
I've been eyeing this game for a while mainly just for the tanks I'm not a huge fan of fighter planes or jets hopefully I don't offend but I'm new to gaming with Pc's and I have a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and the graphic card is I GUESS a Radeon Graphics idk what type it just says "Radeon Graphics" please don't make fun of my if so potato I game on 💀
edit: I forgot to include I have 16GB of ram to
What is the must buys if you don't have the game in this. I am not collecting all the planes just want to play all the campaigns
