If irating is only used for matchmaking in online races. Why do we need to see this. The times i hear on track:
“ you should not be complaining to me, cause you have 1500 irating and i have 4000 irating. So im better than you. And you should listen to me”
Is setting a toxic enviroment.
So make it not visible. It will also make people not focus on getting as high an Irating possible. And just enjoy the online racing
Im curious what others think of this
Hello,
I want to play with GT4, during the test week I chose the Porsche 718 GT4. Now I need to buy content : the car and tracks. I never bought contents on iRacing, I think buying a car and 5 tracks to have the 15% discount. I don’t want to buy a track that will be played once a year. Can you help me please ?
I was doing the GT Endurance series (GT3 at Nords) and had some damage, had 16 mins repairs total so I went to the bathroom and get something to eat, come back to 52 mins of extra repairs.
Checking the replay I see the car has the engine on, a sudden oil pressure warning (not on screen for more than 20 seconds) then immediate blowout.
I've been playing for 5 months and done lots of weekend endurance for 3 of those, this is the first time I have this happening (Ferrari 296) and I've been sitting on the pits for way longer than 16 mins in the past.
So, several questions:
If you jumped out of the car (to check replay and what not) the engine shuts down, I remember you had to press the gas or the ignition hotkey to get it back on. Checking my replay the engine was coming back on as soon as I jumped back into the car. Was this changed on the last update or am I remembering wrong? (Nevermind, I think with the last update I redid my config and forgot to remove Auto Engine Start from the car settings).
When I was a new player I read that "in the past" some cars had the whole exploding in the pits but it was always referenced as a fixed thing. I never had it happening with this car (296) and neither with all the other cars I've done endurance with (PCup, F82, G82) between August and October, when I did several Endurance races every weekend. Is this a returning bug? In the pits, the guy in front of me had the engine blowing out like a minute after mine went as well.
Recently started and have graduated to class D in ovals, sports cars, and open wheel. I’m curious if the series/car options in class D are always available? For example, open wheel has F4. Is that going to be staying around for a long time? Looking online, it seems formula ford used to be an options as well. Wondering where it went / if f4 is around to stay. I mainly don’t want to purchase if it’s not a mainstay in the series. Same for the other series, just used open wheel as an example. Thanks in advance!
Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone eles experience something similar. I own a Nvidia 4060ti 16g, I always used 1080p as its the intended resolution for this hardware, getting decent stable 80fps with spikes on 100fps( some tweaks on IRacing config ). After the last IRacing update, I restarted my pc and as usual the Nvidia tool set the triple screen by default in 1440p, just out of curiosity I tried IRacing to run 1440p and for some reason that I can’t explain, the game got much more stable and also got a bump on fps like 100fps avg, if using vsync, it runs most of the time in 120fps…I’m happy but curious on the technical reason that could lead to this situation.
I would say my current level of racing after only doing it for about a month is around 1800 - 2k.
That's where I was at until I had one bad race where I kept getting punted off track. I got disqualified because some of the contact moments I got some of the blame when it clearly was not on me at all.
Now because of that I'm stuck at 1100 ir and racing with people that tend to just crash into you instead of taking a corner properly, even people that will punt you off on a straight because they are drafting and instead of going beside they just pit maneuver you off track.
All I'm trying to do is run clean races and not go below what I qualified to get my safety rating and ir up but it seems very difficult to do when this is the kind of drivers in the lower ir.
I'm just venting because I've been stuck down here for a couple days now and only have so many races I can run in a day.
Has anyone else had a slump like this and how did you overcome it? Just give everyone tons of space and lose position cause you don't know if they are gonna run you off?
Unpopular take, this series should be cancelled or unranked, for the way people behave in there.
Why the hell cant people race the 87s normally here? Xfinities and Nextgen was a hit or miss, but usually safe if you stay top5, but in the 87s, it literally doesnt matter where you start, you will get wrecked, with as much avoidance as possible.
Edit: I am now 8 out of 8 wrecked races. Yes, I could have maybe avoided a few, with a lucky guess, but all the others were out of my reach

My PC is from roughly 2021 - rtx 3090, ryzen 5800x3d, 32Gb DDR4 3200. I have no issue that I notice running iracing on triples at 1440p and am about to re-enter the realms of vr racing (Quest 3 on the way - Quest 2 just didn’t do it for me). Am wondering - would I see any huge benefit from upgrading anything?
I qualified p3 for the 2.4 hour race and I had a good start and passed 2nd but then lost it 4 laps later, about a lap later I get smashed by a Cadillac GTP. I wish iRacing did something about the gtps because it has gotten worse this season. If you race in the IMSA endurance or the official 35/45 minute races and do gt3, just remember that the GTPs are inpatient.
6 of my last 7 ARCA races I’ve finished top 5, and the last 3 being P3 while qualifying 3rd lol
So last season I started doing rookie Mazdas and had a good time. I have an A license, but that was through NASCAR road courses, so I consider myself very much a novice in this style of racing. Anyways, I've decided to continue doing Mazda's but in PCC because I also want to try out the GR86.
So, anything I should know before starting in? I have some experience with multiclass racing, but are the Mazda, GR86, and Clio in 1 class or separate? What is the general etiquette between them if they are separate classes? TIA
They are an absolute maniac. Managed to get themselves disqualified before the end of the 2nd lap but interestingly lost less SR than I did!
So iracing has different types of racing? what do people type of race play?
Did they fix the M4 GT4's weird center of gravity thing ? It drove it for the first time in a long time and it feels better than I remember.
If yes, then I would like to invite you to a private GT3 league "GT3 for not so serious". As the name suggests, we are all about having fun on discord while racing each other hard but fair. We have a diverse group of drivers of all skill levels, from 1k to 5k, and everyone is welcome. We follow the GT Sprint schedule and race every Sunday starting at 15:45 GMT (10:45AM EST).
Sessions include -
30 minutes practice,
20 minutes open qualifying,
20 minute sprint race,
and the main event - a 50 minute feature race where the top 7 of the 1st race are inverted to promote more exciting racing.
You can find us by searching league number #3953 or search for "GT3 for not so serious". All races are professionally broadcasted live on Twitch and also available on YouTube after the race.

Has anybody also had a problem with lagging/screen freezing since the new season?
it started happening since the new update (especially on IMSA) and its a real race killer, had to retire from multiple races cuz the game would just randomly freeze for like 2 seconds and i always find myself in the wall
When we adjust the LR and RR Spring Offset while driving in the car what does it actually change in the garage so I can just build that into the setup prior to the race? I sometimes have a setup that is loose and have to wait for the first stop to make those adjustments but would like to make them prior so I can undo or increase them as needed during the race.
Champions.
Forgive me if this has come up before, but if you get shown a blue, does it really mean you're the slower car?
I was involved in an inshident and had to pit (don't sit on bumpers in MX-5 cup, lesson learnt) and as I come out of the pits, I let those that are racing pass me as I'm on cold tyres, and cause I'm an absolute Gentleman.
I then have a bozo about 4 car lengths behind, for many laps, who may get a length or 2 closer at some points but not enough to pass, piss and moan about blue flags in chat the entire time.
Am I wrong? Should I pull over for a mazz or a ciggie while you try to find some pace?
The way I see it, if you're not close or quick enough, I'm not giving it you. Please trust me when I say I race with 100% integrity and respect at all times. I'm not here to ruin anyone's race cause I have a fragile ego.
I've read the code, I'm just curious as to what everyone else's opinion is.
Cheers Legends!
So its my first time doing endurance race and I want to do it alone since its only 3h. How does the race look like, how many times I need to refuel and/or change tyres? Im used to not think about those things since for anything shorter you never need to fuel or change tyres but I guess in 3h things change. Anyone had some experiences? GT3 Nordeschleife enduro btw
Did you guys get your end of season recap email? Is there a place on the service you can see it?
TL:DR iRacing is good for a beginner.
I haven't raced online for years - and that was only for a short time - but after a friend bought a PC based sim rig this summer I figured I might take a look myself. Incidentally, he managed to get his partner to agree to a very expensive setup by saying he wanted to do track days, knowing she'd say no as he wanted to take his GT3. "Why don't you look into sim racing, dear, then you won't wreck our 911?" Frankly the man must be a Jedi and with a surprisingly small amount of persuasion in my own household, I picked up a PC and rig myself in October.
I've only had iRacing for a month but it is genuinely fun, educational(!) and once you realise winning is not a measurement of success the feeling of achievement and progression is fantastic.
The most surprising thing so far is the standard of driving. Even in the rookie class with fellow Black Friday members, during the first two weeks everyone gave space and kept racing clean but close. I have one particular example I saved to YT where me and two other drivers were nose to tail for four or five laps to the finish with zero incidents. All of us at the end were messaging how amazing it felt. I think we were fighting for 3rd and it was a wonderful introduction to proper online racing.
It's not all Senna Mansell as there are a few drivers who think weaving and blocking is a way to defend a position rather than chosing a line or shooting gaps that are closing or non-existent. Now, I will say I'm guilty of missing or underestimating braking points but I've made sure to map a "sorry, my fault" button on the wheel and never a "you're an idiot." If I do come across a bad driver I find playing mind games with track positioning tends to make them make mistakes so there are ways to deal with these people. Once I let one moron pass me and catch up with a weaver in front and within a lap they'd taken each other out. Hugely satisfying.
By far the biggest leap I've made personally is not feeling nervous when defending or leading. I could feel myself ballooning and either letting them through or making a mistake but the more I race the more I realise the drivers will mostly race fair and if I do make a mistake that's when someone will pass rather than trying to go through me. Relaxed driving is fast driving, of course.
So after 4 weeks I've managed to move into C with a 1.7IR and a 3.3SR (was 4.5 helping me fast-track promotion to C) so it's early days but in 53 races I've won 4 and finished in the top 5 24 times.
Happy racing.
Is said above I’m thinking of getting a GT4 what do you recommend?
Well, as the title suggests, we need a GT3 driver asap. We are Fast Livin' Motorsports, we are competing at Daytona this year with two entries. We have our LMP1 team set already, but we are short a driver for out GT3 team. We have amazing team coaches, plenty of recourses for improving of your driving skills, setups from 3 different companies, and team paints schemes. We also have team game nights before all endurance races as a way to bond as a team. If you're interested, comment below, dm us, whatever it takes. Oh, and you can't get butt hurt easily. You have to be able to take a joke 😂
