Very often in the 2nd-3rd laps I make a big mistake, i slide out on the cold tires, i go too easily into the smallest overtaking gap and we collide, etc., i fall behind in the field, and then i go full tilt and the whole race is a waste. I know what not to do, but when the race starts, the fog descends on my mind and I make the same mistake again and again... How can I work on this effectively? before, I usually just run hot laps, so my one-lap pace is much higher than my non-existent race craft.
So I signup and race the Skip Barber event at Barber Motorsports Park circuit. It shows there’s me and one other guy, but he’s grayed out. So I qualify…he still doesn’t show up. So I run the 15 lap race…alone. Boring. Understandably I receive zero iRacing points.
So I sign up for the next Skip Barber event. This time there’s one guy, but he pulls out halfway through the initial practice session. So when it comes time to switch to racing, I withdraw, because there’s no one to race with. I notice that a banner comes up that says Forfeit and I click it. (Probably my mistake). Now it shows that I lost 62 iRacing points! That’s not right.
What should I have done differently? (Besides not registering for an event with enough people) Should I have waited a while and eventually the Forfeit would have went away?
Is this a bug?
Official race sessions cannot be found in the iracing ui?
I can only see practice sessions??
Looking to enter my first race, but I practiced on a track for ages, then couldn’t find a race at that track ( unless I’m looking wrong) what’s the best track to learn wich regularly pops up to race on?
I’m new to iRacing and since I installed it I haven’t played any other game on my PC (And I have about 100 installed). The addiction is real. Now I just need to get good.
How the heck is the drivers supposed to see this flags post?! Just find it quite funny XD
i got to 3.5 from the charlotte roval tcr then ever since its just fell. i dont want to start from the back and lap 1s slower but it feels like the only way. i feel like im just being taken out by over optimistic moves and people giving no space
Hello,
I am debating whether to buy iRacing from Steam or from iracing.com (if I do in fact buy it, whole other question alltogether). On Steam the game is priced in euro's, but on the site it's in US Dollars. Has anyone in Europe bought from the website? How much did you have to pay for taxes? I'm also curious if I can use my debit card on the website or if I can only use a credit card (which I don't have), on Steam I can use a debit. Also, are you required to use the name on your card?
Is it possible for team events to drive on the same rig/PC but just change driver account mid race for the next stint?
I've noticed with my time on iRacing there are people obsessed with their numbers. Those who are focused on their safety rating aren't keen on racing competitively. Then on the opposite side you have those focused on iRating and damn anyone else in the race who's in their way. I think having these numbers only update on the user side during the weekly update would bring a better balance to things. I believe you would have less people trying to take risks or racing abnormally to get back those few points they lost in the last race. I also believe this would take away some of the obsession with numbers and get back to focusing on just racing and having fun. It needs to be about the racing. Not the numbers.
I'm looking to add a bass shaker to my Playseat Formula seat. From what I've read, this amp seems to be a good option to power the speakers through. I always play with headphones on, so I'm just looking for vibration, not so much sound.
Which of these would be the better option for vibrations in iRacing? Is there a big difference between the these?
or
Any input would be great.
i need to get my safety rating up to get out of rookie but it seems to take so long even when i perform well, anyone have tips? maybe recommended series also? make sure to upvote cuz i need more karma😊🙏
I tend to float between 1600-1800 iRating in GT3 so lower than many, and think I'd still be considered in the lower splits realistically. This may not apply to higher ranked races!
Anyway, if someone says at the race start or formation lap 'Please everyone take it easy, let's keep it clean'. Like 9/10 (maybe 7/10), you can absolutely rely on that person to dive bomb it into T1, wipe out others and then start screaming on comms (which I'll often unmute purely because its so funny).
Last race a guy said that, I qualified P2, he was P3. Dude dive bombed me into T1, he lost control, took out P4/5 and then created a gap of 10 seconds between me, P1 and the rest of the field.
The absolute carnage in the mirrors afterwards was hilarious (Less funny for P4/5/6).
All caused by yet another guy who tells everyone else ' Keep it clean T1'.
Such an interesting psychology. My guess is they think its everyone else thats the problem, hence are begging others to stop ruining their race. The audacity to say this then dive bomb T1 is quite someting.
iRacing definitely has some characters.
I am following the instructions but am not able to save a suit per car. Anytime I save a suit, it just applies the same suit to all cars. Am I doing something wrong? How can I change this?
Hi all, just fast tracked my way to class C in preparation for the 24hr Nürburgring and managed to end up with a SR of C 3.54 which is good enough for class B as long as I complete 4 mpr races. I wanna buy a car that will b useful in class C and B and I don't have to buy many tracks in order to use my car going forward. Rn leaning towards the Mercedes gt3 or gt4
Update: I bought the Ferrari gt3 and NR combined since I noticed that the Ferrari is eligible for 12 serieses. Problem is that I didn't realize that the Ferrari doesn't participate in any C class events so it won't count towards my MPR. Gonna buy a gt4 next
Every race I enter, without fail, I get a 4x because someone is 2 atoms away from my rear bumper. I have been 3.9x in sports cars 3 times now. Every single time I am about to make it to B someone causes me to get penalties. I have chosen to start at the back of the pack in my latest races to avoid the carnage. That does not seem to matter since people still want a close up of my rectum. I have (somewhat) willingly gone from 2600 to 2200 just because I don’t want to be in this stupid class anymore.
Last race I entered was the multi class at Aragon. I ended with 13x and without a scratch on my car. All the penalties I got, except one 1x for off track, was because someone got to close to me.
How do I get out of C class sports cars as soon as possible before I have a mental breakdown?
Especially if you're in the same class as the car you're flashing (and not lapping them). Trying to distract another driver is unsportsmanlike at the very least.
I was hoping this would be general knowledge, but seems it isn't. This happened to me a few times already just this week, finally, got fed up and took action.
Sebring, Porsche Cup, night time.
Had this wonderful gentleman in P3 who heavily flashed P2, caused him to overbrake a corner, but once I overtook the "flasher" in L2 a lap after, I managed to keep a 2-3 secdonds gap until the end but he'd flash me on every corner and every straight, which is especially annoying in the nighttime the race takes part this week.
Don't be that guy.
Reported them and iRacing agreed.
The Slowdown’s added due to Tempest causing havoc AGAIN for the TCR this season!
Specs. 7900xtx 7800X3D Meta quest 3
My quest is capped to 90hzs, but I often in races get 45 which sometimes shoots up to 90 and back down. This is the same regardless of graphical settings I've had it on min and close to max same in dry and rain as 45 is half of 90, and gpu ussage is not 100% that this is a technical issue rather than hardware limit. Anyone had similar problem ?
Does the racing line stay on the whole time you are in rookie or can you turn it off? Also how long did people wait till there first race? And is the basic first track you learn on an optional for the first race! Only had a quick 10 min to calibrate everything last night, so thinking about what I’m going to do tonight after work!
Hi folks, am planning to drive 180min endurance solo as I do not have any friends who are into simracing, and was wondering how you guys prepare for solo endurance rides in terms of:
Thanks in advance
I have 3 monitors. I have zero options to choose the correct monitor for this game to display on. And when I do get it on my main monitor, i can't adjust to the correct resolution. Why is there is not a monitor select option for a game meant to be played as such?
