What is he?

This is Ajani (Aj), we were told he's a foxhound. Does that seem right?

Weeble Wobble Kong Alternatives

Our hounds LOVE the treat dispensing weeble Wobble kongs like this: https://a.co/d/fBUzrFv

But they love them so much, they always get stuck under furniture, and then they lose their minds until someone helps them retrieve it. Any alternatives to this toy that has the same interaction but doesn't get stuck under places?

Burying toys?

I always think I’m being kind by getting my boy a special bone or treat to keep his brain busy, but he usually just walks around the house with it in his mouth, whining, trying to find somewhere to bury it. Closets, laundry baskets, beds, couches. Not all toys and treats, it seems to be things he thinks are really special. I’m not going to take it away! Is this a dog thing, or a hound thing? I feel bad that it stresses him out but he just about rips a whole in the couch trying to bury it and I’m not going to let him dig up the yard!

Not playing with toys?

Hey folks, I don’t know if you guys remember me, I’m the one who took the dog in for my sister. She’s great and I love her so much. A lot of things are getting soooo much easier. I honestly hit the doggy jackpot because we just don’t really have any major problems. Even the fearfulness is getting better! She’s been hopping into cars willingly each time!

As for the problem, I’m not really sure if it is a problem. When I first got her, she was played with toys, but we live a very different life than she led before. She didn’t get much dedicated attention, direction, or actual walks, just potty breaks. Since I’ve had her, I’ve noticed that she LOVES her toys, like stuffed animals for a child, almost, she snuggles with them, and she clearly hoards them in her sleeping area. She just never ever plays with them. She’ll mouth them a bit when she’s excited, but really gently. I got her these to be destroyed lol. I KNOW she’s a stuffy destroyer and has enjoyed it before (don’t worry- only under strict watch and I remove all squeakers before she gets to them-or I did when she was still doing this. I have been trying to get her some stimulating toys that are interactive, but she’s disinterested. All she wants to do is stare at me and beg for attention. She’s always been excessively attention seeking, but it’s almost like she got a taste of it, and now it’s all she wants. The increased attention and direction has helped in every area except this. She will not independently play anymore AT ALL and it’s been months. I feel bad because I started doing a lot of walks and daycare to keep her from being bored, but sometimes there’s a stretch of a few days where I can’t do as much and she seems so bored. Anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be appreciated.

Jumping!! Help!

My 3 year old boy is a Walker/Foxhound breed and is 3 years old. I have been training him from 8 weeks. But he gets so excited to greet people he jumps on everybody. It’s frustrating and scary since we have had encounters that have hurt people. I hold on like hell to the leash but if they get too close I can’t help it. What do I do to keep his “4 on the floor”? This morning we were off leash at a quiet beach and he blasted thru his E-collar correction and jumped on a stranger who just said Hi. I was so upset with him.

What is my strange dog doing?

this is Spud. Spud is a rescue and he’s weird as heck. i’ve had him for over a year now, and he has always done this. it looks like air caching but then he will start eating it then go back to burying it. anyone know what the dude is doing?

Meet my hound!

Everyone meet Snooptimus Prime aka Snoopy! Yes, that's his legal name. My fiancee and I really like Transformers! He loves doing all the typical hound things.

Buttercup the Fox Hound Mix

She digs holes, we fill them, she digs new ones right next to the old ones, repeat. 🤣 We got her when she was 18 months old after she had had some pups. We never got to see her pups - they were already adopted. The rescue had to remove her eye. It most likely had been scratched when she was playing. She sheds a lot but is a lovebug. ❤️
