Hello, I have a brand new HRX217. Fired it up for the first time last week and the idle seems to fluctuate a lot. I've read that this is mostly due to a dirty carb. How can the carb be dirty if it's brand new? Is this common with Honda mowers? And how do I fix? Thank you!

Hi Honda gurus 👋 Looking to purchase my first Honda mower. Have extensively used my Dad's Honda HRU194 Buffalo which is an unbreakable beast, particularly in Australian conditions, but it's hard to get your hands on a second hand one these days.

If you were going out today to purchase a new Honda mower, which one would you select?

I'm fit/healthy in my 30's so I don't really need self propelled. The HRU196 Buffalo Pro looks the most similar to the old HRU194, so would also be interested in any thoughts from people that own this version.

Anyone figure out a way to mod the clutch handle to make it a wider? It just is out of reach for me to engage it with my thumbs.

I'm struggling with this Honda Miimo 310 robotic mower. I am helping a woman with her mower that she got a while back and I don't know anything about how it was set up or even how it is supposed to be set up but I am just trying to create three starting points for the three parts of her lawn and I am struggling. I am reading the manual and watching videos but I don't know if I am just misunderstanding some information (I definitely am) and it's driving me crazy messing with all the modes and nothing seems to be progressing. I would be so grateful for someone with the same model to maybe have some useful info about making the zones and setting the starting points because I think the starting points that are already programmed are not correct but I can't figure out how to identify them. I can provide any pics or videos of the settings if that will be useful! The meters and percentages is also throwing me off.

I just finished mowing my back yard and noticed this hole in the side of the deck. Can this be fixed or will it have to buy a new mower?

Have a pressure washer with a GCV200 and figured I would get the best response here. I have the same motor on my HRX217 and never seen this issue. Have a leak at the oil spout. Would the best thing to fix is to just replace the spout and o ring? Just a leak I've never seen before.

I changed the plug for the first time on my GCV170 yesterday. I bought a BPR5ES per the Honda website. When I removed the old one it was a BPR6ES. Any idea which I should actually use?

Purchased off Amazon and I’m curious if Honda wraps carburetors in bubble wrap or not.

Just got this mower. Planning on replacing carb and spark plugs. Starts on first pull but after engaging smart -drive, the mower shuts off. Any ideas?

Hello, I have a 5 year old HRN216VKAA. This thing gets used and abused in my lawn weekly, and now all of a sudden there is an issue with the front wheels.

The wheel housing? has dislodged causing that wheel to be very uneven and not lay flat. I have tried to pop the thing back in, but it looks like there may be a screw hole in the back that is missing the bolt?

Has anyone dealt with anything like this before? I don't even know what to call that part when doing searches.

i bought a used hrx217 two summers ago and have always had an issue with the hook that grabs the clutch line slipping mid mow. it will slip a good 5-10 times per mow. has anyone had this issue and knows a fix?

I’ve got a HRX217k4HYA I’m trying to figure out a good oil change interval. The manual says to change the oil every 50 hours or 6 months or every 25 hours when used under heavy load or in high outside air temps. I’m used to changing it mower oil every fall before winter storage but now I’m thinking I need to change it more often. I’m in Minnesota FYI so the lawn is cut late May to Oct so about 5 months.

What do you all recommend for oil change intervals? Do you use one of those stick on hour meters to know when to change it by hours? Or do you change it twice a year or just once in the fall before storage?

Changed cutting blades on my HRU 19, and they're really loose. I know they're supposed to have a bit of give, but they're flopping around. Really loose. Anyone have a similar problem. is this normal?

What would I need to add electric starter to my Honda HRX217K6HYAD and would it be worth it?

It seems after I had it in for maintenance ) needed new cable for self propelling)that it’s way too hard to pull it backwards.

I recently finished fixing a HRR216 I picked up of the curb in July and it runs pretty decent. It has a new spark plug, carburetor + gaskets and air filter it is just in need of new blades(I’m planning to sell with the old ones). I’ve only put about $20 into it so anything more than that is what I’m going to ask just want to know a reasonable price to ask.

I found the part I need, for my mower, in the giram. I need 16,17,20 - this bolt snapped on my mower and got stuck in that black plate (part 2). I ordered a new part 2 but it doesnt come with the nut.

those 3 are suspiciously missing from the "order" list EVERY part store I found.

Im pretty sure its just a 5/16th bolt so I can hack it if I need to, but wtf

I bought this mower non running, turns out the intake valve spring was broken and the valve fell into the cylinder head, I want to take the cylinder head off to get the valve out and check for any damage on the cylinder, I can’t figure out how to take the head off? I also can’t find a head gasket for it online anywhere. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Picked up a new HRX217 and it will not start. Gas is getting to the sparkplug. Changed spark plugs with another Honda engine I have and no go. Tested the spark plug wire and its producing voltage. I did try and adjust the throttle as it seemed to have a good bit left in it. When trying to adjust the throttle cable the small threaded barrel is actually in two pieces. Looks like it is broke but is this normal? I almost think that it is normal as the hole the barrel goes through is too small for the barrel itself.

So guess I'm asking if anyone has any ideas? Is the throttle cable correct? Thinking of picking up some engine starting spray tomorrow and see if I can get it to turn over.

Again this is brand new out of the box today. I’ve had several self propelled mowers both gasoline and electric. Once the drive is disengaged it’s easy to pull back. This one, no.

Also the grass clippings shooting out the back (yes the selector is fully on mulch) is driving me nuts. I feel like this is a sloppy design.
