I'm looking to have an artist create a new page background for me, but before I that I want to make sure that I'll be able to still put text and images over it. Or am I stuck using the default background page?
I was experimenting with the big letters wich you get after an h1 Header, however I do not know how to change the font that is used to display those big letters, does anyone know how to do this? I am currently working on the font but I don't know how to implement the ttf file into this or do I need to do this via github?
Hello All,
First-time poster here, looking for some formatting help on a brew. I have attached an example image from The Code Legal of Waterdeep. My goal is to insert a sort of mid-page break like what is seen between the bullet points at the top of the page and the remainder of the text in the rest of the page.
Thus far, I have managed to, I believe, correctly format the top part by inserting a wide text block ( {{wide Insert Text Here }} ) followed by bullet points divided by a column break. However, I cannot figure out how to align the remainder of my text back to the left and continue down the page as normal.
Hopefully, this makes sense.... Thanks in advance for any help ya'll can offer!
Hello all! I am very new to homebrewery; like I started today new. And I was trying to make a table for my homebrew. I've been using some of the tutorials and a lot of them have the following code around their table:
<div class='classTable wide'>
*table here*
</div>
I've been trying to use that; but it literally doesn't do anything. It just presents the table like how it normally would, to the point where it doesn't even change if I delete the code. Does anyone know how to fix this, it's driving me mad.
I've tried exporting my documents to PDF multiple times in multiple different browsers, but every time I do it flattens the PDF so I can't select text of follow any hyperlinks.
I've tried this with multiple different documents [For example even small ones like this didn't work](https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/6azRIs0UzZXe)
I've tried exporting from firefox (which has formatting errors and didn't work), Edge, and Chrome (which both flattened it)
Not sure what the problem is
I tried searching for a Homebrewery Formatting Guide. The only thing I could find was deleted. The other posts from 2 years ago say study the Markdown language. Does anyone have a guide I can use?
Hi, the module I am writing to turning out great. I am planning on selling it on DMsGuild but they require I place the DMsGuild LOGO on the front page. I would like the replace that 20sided logo that is there by default but I dont know how. Could I Get help with that?
I'm trying to highlight some text within a table of contents and there seems to be some sort of conflict I don't know how to overcome. I'm using this in the style:
.page .toc .yellowback {background-color:#ebcc05;}
I can use the yellowback tag to highlight my H3 headers within the table of contents, but I can't seem to get it to work on the ToC's regular text. Tags to change text color, on the other hand, seem to work on both equally well.
Hello!
I would like to do a half-page subclass art piece on the left hand of a page (See images). I want the text to be in column format on the right (maintaining left and right margins), with the image wrapping the text where it needs to. Currently, The text is behaving as a wide span and when i insert a column between the image and the text it no longer wraps.
Does anyone know how I could solve this issue? I would appreciate the guidance.
Image one is no column break, image two is column break.
Thanks
Hi All!
I was hoping for the wisdom of the community. I want to convert my Homebrewery documents (which are now becoming extensively long) into Word documents, and am unsure as to the best place to turn to for formatting help. I am not looking to convert them into PDFs, as I hope to simply migrate the documents as-is to Microsoft Word so I can continue to edit/add to them. Any ideas on how to best go about this? I suppose a less round-about way of asking this question is: How do y'all format your Microsoft Word documents to imitate Homebrewery/5E's formatting style? Any reference guides you have knowledge of? Thanks for your guidance!
Hi, I am using the latest version of Chrome on both my PC and Laptop but Images embedded on pages (17 pages) do not fully render when I export to PDF. I tried both Save as PDF and Save as Microsoft PDF. The bottom of most images are white, as if it did not download completely. Also, some images are missing completely. I see the images just find when editing the pages. I keep my images on CANVA.com
Please help.
The title sums up the problem I've ran into. Been using Homebrewery on Firefox and was working on a rather large WIP and had forgot to save it. The page froze up and became unresponsive. When I try now to open a new Blank document to try and begin work again it freezes with text from the lost document. Any suggestions?
I have been looking everywhere for something to help me understand this, but the text is unhelpful to someone without coding experience. I want to use this to expand the toc for my doc, but I don't even know what it's talking about.
Here is the quote from the [update (https://www.reddit.com/r/homebrewery/comments/1g2ub0e/v3160\_is\_here/) in question.
Fixes issue #513
New Table of Contents control options via TEXT EDITOR > TABLE OF CONTENTS submenus.
By default, H1-H3 is included in the ToC generation, but the new options allow marking {{blocks}} to include or exclude specific or ranges of contained headers. Also, a global option to increase the default range of H1-H3 to H1-H4/5/6. After applying these markers, you must regenerate the Table of Contents to see the changes.
It talks about "{{blocks}}" and "markers" but that tells me nothing about how to apply them, and all I get from the program itself is “{{tocInclude# CHANGE # to your header level}}", "{{tocDepthH6}}", "{{tocExcludeH3 }}", "{{tocIncludeH5 }}"
And "regenerate the Table of Contents?" What does that even mean?
I'm sorry if I sound frustrated, I've been looking for solutions for like 3 days.
EDIT: FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!
It was in the Style Editor?
Here are the codes for future users with this problem, located under the "TABLE OF CONTENTS TOGGLES" under the "STYLE EDITOR" submenu, aka the menu with the paint brush icon. Once the code is generated just leave it in the Style Editor section. Now, when you generate the TOC, the extra subheadings will be included.
.page {
h4 {--TOC: include; }
}
.page {
h4, h5 {--TOC: include; }
}
.page {
h4, h5, h6 {--TOC: include; }
}
EDIT (2): Trying to fix the syntax of my post and failing due to limited HTML knowledge and/or knowledge about how to post on Reddit. If there is something I can do to edit the title to read "[Closed]", please advise.
EDIT (3): changed inital paragraph to refer to the solution at the bottom so when people read it they know upfront that I figured it out without having to open it.
I have a problem with Homebrewery. When I tried to insert an image that said it was in beta in the toolbar, everything froze. I can see all the code, but I can't click on anything. What can I do?
Hi, There seems to be some writing that has disappeared from my account. Both missing files and updates not surfacing from files I've edited. I've lost some hours of work. Any chance for assistance?
Just had a Chrome update (17 Oct at ~6pm EST), and after which when I select text in the Editor and move it, the Preview pane doesn't update to represent that move. Typing, Cutting, Copying, Pasting all work normally, just Dragging is having the issue. If I drag and then type, the Preview Pane will update, but it is adding time to modifying page lay out.
I suspect the root of the issue is a change Google made to Chrome with the update since it was working completely fine yesterday before this update.
Anyone know how I can move the right column to the top of the page? I applied “:::::” to the left column but it ended up shifting both columns down.
This is annoying :/ I'm trying to put in an image for a custom item but it just shows up as text. Could I get some help please :")

Until a few days ago everything was perfect, every text correction or image positioning worked as it should, but since yesterday I have been experiencing big problems: every time I make a change, be it the correction of a word or even to move a few px an image, I necessarily have to do something else (write something, delete, etc.) before the update becomes effective. This greatly affects the ease of inserting images and also that of spelling words precisely.
Sorry if I made any mistakes, english is not my first language.
How do i reset my password? I forgot it and is trying to log on on another device. Seems this shouldn't be this complicated
I seem to be losing hours of work at a time, this is the second time it's happened, and I'm really pissed. I don't know why this would be happening. Anybody got clues?
