I have recently published an unofficial guidebook for HB. This guidebook is a work in progress, meaning it is unfinished. I will continue to add to the resource as time goes by.
Please feel free to review the resource, clone it, etc. If anyone has information that they feel should be added, or you found typos/errors, please let me know.
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the spacing or padding between the abilities or actions and the next ability or action (red). Also, is there a way to reduce the area between the separator and the first ability (blue)? I'd like the solution to only impact the monster blocks and not the whole document if possible.
Any help is appreciated!
I'm attempting to do a review of a pretty big document (100+ pages) and I'm hoping to be able to search for words I accidentally left uncapitalized (concentration vs Concentration, for example). I don't know if I'm simply unaware of how to do so within the Homebrewery editor or if the function doesn't exist. If there any way to search like this in editor, or should I just export my document for editing like this?
So I got most of the things I want to change, however I also want to change the background image and the border of the framed monster table, however I seem unable to change the color of the images or the images themselves.
Here's what I have so far:
.page .monster hr {
-webkit-mask-image: url(/assets/redTriangle.png);
-webkit-mask-size: 100% 100%;
background-image: none;
background-color: #660000;
}
.page .monster h2,
.page .monster h3 {
color: #660000;
}
.page .monster dt,
.page .monster dd,
.page .monster th,
.page .monster td,
.page .monster hr~:is(dl,p) {
color: #440000;
}
I copied and pasted a monster stat block to a new sheet so that I could modify it (using firefox). It froze up. Now ever time I try and make a new one it goes back to this screen. The stuff I copied is in the text editor but the display is blank with swirling dots in the upper left hand corner. I was able to log in on another browser (chrome) and finish. But on firefox no matter what I cannot get to the new screen. I have cleared cookies and that did not help.
On web developer I get the following message " The stylesheet https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/homebrew/cm-themes/default.css was not loaded because its MIME type, “text/html”, is not “text/css”. "
I have been trying for almost a week to make the offline method from GitHub to work and I can not figure out what I am doing.
I just want to be able to use the homebrewery without internet access because I work in a closed net location / faraday cage.
If anyone is willing to help walk me through getting it to work, I would greatly appreciate it.
So when I want to upload a picture as a cover,or simply to add one in,I keep having issues with the preferred picture because it won't let me put it in or the link for that matter.
I made a custom oath for a character in one of my campaigns, and wanted to get some thoughts on it. I don't plan on giving this character the oath right away, I plan to make him work for it, making him learn the true meaning of each tenet through some kind of trial.
When I save as pdf the right columns go off the page. (Using Safari)
Hi guys, im new in Homebrewery, so i still doesnt understand some things. Can you please tell me how can i change size of font in boxes like this? I have no idea.
I'm trying to work on some brews from a work laptop in my free time. But when trying to select an area in the text editor the cursor or "carat" will show itself above or below the spot I clicked. Not only that but when trying to type past that point, the text entered is in a completely different spot from where the cursor is. Though a little closer to where I physically clicked.
Occurs in both legacy and V3, so it seems to be isolated to the brew editor area. Clicking on an item in my table of contents to jump to another page still works as intended and there is no misalignment with any buttons on the same screen.
Im also not sure as to what other programs may be on the laptop that would conflict with homebrewery. Home computer works just fine, so I know its the laptop. Maybe there is some setting that I'm missing that could be a quick fix?
Is there some way to make 3 colums in Table of Contents?
I’ve been using Homebrewery for awhile now, but this one stumps me on how to make.
Any ideas how to get a page similar to this? No need to be exact, but the lines for writing and section titles are the most important to achieve.
Writing up a new character journal I would to print off and having in-character monster notes feels like a really cool thing to do. So I would love to make this happen.
As the title says. Whenever I put one of Kaiburr's themes in, pages are still using the default PHB background image. How do I get them to change? Using V3, if that is relevant.
This maybe trivial, but I am curious if it is possible to link to a heading, not the page?
Instead of :
[Some page](#p4)
Do this:
[Heading inside a chapter](#p4:heading)
I've seen some post in the past about style strings using counter reset, but can't figure out how to do this in V3.
I'm trying to have the auto page number skip the front cover as a counted page and start on page 2 (the inner cover) as page 1.
Also, is there a way to get the footer part of a page where the page number is shown to switch to the other side? I.e page number 5 footer being on the right and page 6 being on the left without having to do this manual on each page or deleting a page to get the correct orientation?
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
someone can help me mirroring the background img please? tried use this code but it is mirroring the text too
.page {
background-image: url("https://i.postimg.cc/SsCktLC9/FUNDO-PNG2.png");
background-size: cover;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: fixed;
}
.page:nth-child(even) {
background-image: url("https://i.postimg.cc/SsCktLC9/FUNDO-PNG2.png");
background-size: cover;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: fixed;
transform: scaleX(-1); /* Espelha a imagem de fundo horizontalmente nas páginas pares */
}
Hi, I am working on a brew in legacy mode. Yesterday when I accessed it, the font of the text editor (where I put the code) is much, much smaller than it was before, which is hard to read. I can't figure out how to put it back to how it was before, where the font code/text was bigger.
My page isn't zoomed in/out and I've reset the zoom with no changes, as well as reloaded+ reopened the brew. Changing it to V.3 doesn't change anything.
Thank you for all your help.
I'm trying to place a text above the corner image, and this doesn't worked, so I've tested on another page and worked well, someone may help me with that?
The last image is the code a wrote, the first correspond for the "Image thats need a text" image and the second correspond for the "Image that's worked..." image. Look, I copied and pasted it and it worked differently. May someone explain me why?
Hello!, so, in the past i write like a lot of one shots in Notion, but now i'm trying to do a compiled of all my works but i want to do it like it is legit to show my friends and give free samples with a group of mine so they can use it also.
What do you recomend? any way that my work looks like a DnD legit pdf?
Also, if some one have instructions in spanish this could help me a lot because english is my second language haha.
Thanks!
I had been trying to change the spacing with some of the new fonts (namely, Iokharic), but I couldn't get it to work. After doing some tests, it seems the problem is with bold text. In normal text, using {{letter-spacing:[value]; [TEXT]}} works like a charm, but as soon as the content is in bold letters, it seems the spacing gets set to a specific value and I can't figure out how to change it.
Admitedly, my knowledge of CSS is pretty barebones, so I may be missing something else here.
For a bit of extra info:
Browser: Chrome
OS: Windows 11
Renderer: V3

Hi, i´m working on a brew for my personal campaign to play with my friends here, and i wanted to make a fancy text (that we the players much like) to point and portray all my ideas so my head wouldn´t explode working and memorizing everything. I´ve found the homebrewery after some research, and i found it very convenient and cool so i put hands to work. Then i had the amazing idea to put some images in order to expose the ideas with more clarity and then the next happened: (view image) I tried to put an image as a test to see how it works, and I´m not sure if this how it works, but my smart-a55 thinks i might be able to see the images that im importing. Post-script: Im working in Opera GX, and i posted the image in Imgur, as the text suggests to.
