Home of Hellfire Caves, The Chairboys and most importantly, a drive thru Maccies.
“When there's no more room in hell , the dead will walk High Wycombe.”
~ George A Romero on High Wycombe
The town is famous for its chair-making traditions, which means most of the people would sit around all day drinking. Since the decline of sitting around all day, the chair industry has dwindled. Arthur J Sisterporker, the person who discovered what legs are for, is the patron amoeba of the town and there are 10 days a year set aside to celebrate his life's work. It is well known that one of the main reasons for the establishment of High Wycombe was to make Reading look better which it has but to a lesser degree than once hoped.

Looking for some good pub food or anything highly recommended, thanks.
Hi I really hope someone can help me out here. I have a very close friend in a difficult situation. She is struggling to find housing for her family (she is the eldest daughter). She comes from a family of 6 and the only breadwinner is her dad. She has 3 younger sisters which can share rooms. Her dad makes around £45k per year(her mum doesnt work) and the only houses with 4 bedrooms that she finds are not accepting such a high number of tenants or they request minimum income of above £75k. Does anyone know how she can go about finding a place to rent? Should she lie and say she is not going to live there so that they pass as only 5 tenants ? Where should she look ? Is facebook better for finding private landlords as the agencies has a lot of conditions? Any help or input is highly appreciated.
Have bus stops changed in town do the buses still stop at frogmore if there going outbound from town?
To whoever's been writing this, please just write: "Too few" -poets It carries the same message but allows me to read it as a reminder to enjoy the beautiful things in life
Anyone want to be friends? I don’t have any friends. Looking for other F my age (20s)
We are looking for a two bedroom flat with parking and a balcony/outdoor space, in High Wycombe within 5 min walk of the station if possible. Looking on Zoopla and Rightmove and there aren’t that many on the market so it’s hard to get a good picture. We are looking to move in September from London.
Also interested in any advice for new residents wanting to settle into a new place.
The house has been converted by the property owner so that the top few floors are flats. The bank has done a survey in order to agree to lend me the mortgage but they haven’t done any proper checks to make sure the roof isn’t going to cave in or the electricals are properly installed. Can anyone make a recommendation of a fairly priced surveyor who is going to make this stressful process easy and who is thorough?
i was really excited but it looks like it never opened idk

How to make friends in high wycombe?
I don’t have any friends locally at all, I never stayed in touch with anyone at school or college as no one really liked me or wanted to be my friend, I’m not sure why 😢 maybe because I have autism? I never fit in and I feel like an odd one out. I’m finding it really hard to socialise and make friends MY AGE! I’m 24. Anyone else in the same boat who would like to be friends? Feel free to send me a friend request and DM on Facebook 🙂 or Snapchat which I use more - lambton.e
I already go to Mind groups which is ok but everyone is older than me and not really my types of friends, more like acquaintances I guess? They don’t have the same interests as me, I want someone who actually has A LOT in common with me so we can basically do everything we both like together and someone who I really connect with and can talk about anything like a sort of sister type best friend and definitely trustworthy/loyal please! I am mostly looking for female friends. I’ve only ever had bad experiences with guys! Only wanting 1 thing and not respecting my boundaries as friends. And a lot of fake people… unfortunately 😕
I'm not sure if anyone has taken their test or will take their test in the new High Wycombe Test Centre, I'm interested in finding out what new routes there are. If anyone has any information on this please post here, as I'm taking my test soon. I had a change of plans and I now have to take my test earlier, so I have less time to prepare now.
If the town itself has famously been 'Higgy Wycomby', 'The Wyc' (okay that might just be me) or 'WhyCome'
Hi I’m from High Wycombe I’ve lived here my whole live but I’ve always struggled to make friends at school and college they never stayed in touch with me either I feel so isolated and left out like everyone else has their friends but I don’t fit in 😞
Hey everyone, Ruth here. I'm working with Re-engage and we're trying to help our older neighbors locally who could really use a friendly chat now and then. I've seen how a simple call can light up their day, and I think there must be lots of lovely people in the area that want to help out.
🔹 Here’s What I’m Asking:
Fancy a chat with an older mate 2-4 times a month?
If you've got a little time and a listening ear, please consider joining in. Honestly, it could mean the world to someone.
Interested or curious? Drop me a message or check out our Become a call companion: befriending service for older people (reengage.org.uk) for more info.
Thanks for hearing me out. Appreciate you all! 💜
