Bugs or Technical Issues
If you experience any bugs or other technical issues with the game I'd recommend checking out our New player Guide/FAQ first.
If you don't find the answer there the Hex Beta Bug report forums would be the next best place to look and you have a decent chance of one of the community managers addressing your issue.
If your issue is still not resolved or addressed at that point you'd be best off lodging a support ticket with Hex Entertainment through their new support portal.

So I was digging around in the files last week and realized from looking up the filename for the card assets that they're all just unencrypted unity assets. A couple hours later I've managed to extract the full art assets for everything, no card border! The cards are 512 x 512 and heroes 1024 x 1024, so pretty decent sizing.

Step 1. have asset studio and python installed
Step 2. copy the code from the the first image into a text file and save it as a ".py" file
Step 3. Copy one of the .harc files in hex/assetbundles/cardset folder into a new folder, alongwith the python file
Step 4. Open the .harc file with a text editor, copy the lines of numbers starting after HARC, scrolling until you see "atlas.ab", paste that into a new .txt file in the same folder. DO NOT SAVE IN THE .HARC FILE
Step 5. Run the python code, it should fill up with .ab files
Step 6. Open the folder in asset studio, filter to "Texture2d" and export filtered
Step 7. Enjoy lost media
Hi. I was curious if anyone knew a list of all the sets that were released. I played a ton back in beta and through Primal Dawn, but I think I was pretty disappointed in Herofall and disengaged a bit after that. What I think I know is:
Shards of Fate
Armies of Myth
Herofall
Frostheart ...other(s) maybe?
I had been feeling nostalgic and reading through all the flavor text to remember the story a bit clearer, but the art library I downloaded only had the first five sets divided out.
Bonus question for those who read this: Which set really exemplifies HEX to you? I was surprised to see that many things I consider core to HEX are specfically Armies of Myth/Primal Dawn. Not surprising I suppose, since my PVE main was Coyotle Cleric and my friend's was Vennen. If you're playing spiderlings or prophecy, are you really playing HEX? 😜
I've been looking for this card for a long time, I don't think it was even on Battleshopper when the site was still alive...
Anyone who can show me their pic of it would be my Hex Hero!
(I hope I'm doing this right.)
Thanks for bringing this sub back from private. I know the game is dead and never coming back, but I still dream (literraly) about playing Hex. This place is a comfort for me sometimes. Even if it is a ghost town.
I was mostly a PVE player. Though I played a fair bit of PVP as well, especially draft. No game since has scratched the TCG itch that Hex did for me.
I miss Hex and all of you players.
Hey all. I was on a different reddit and another user asked me about a post I made in here a while back about a Hex Art Library. Decided to put an update. I made a discord that is purely a library for all of the Hex Art I saved a while back (thank you fan kits). Few years back I made a discord and uploaded every image into it with some basic organization (elementals, rabbitfolk ect). Mostly for use it for dungeons and dragons for interesting artwork for enemies/characters. Since someone else asked about it I figured I'd share it here.

Thank you for the convenience.
Has HEXCON ‘23 been announced yet?
I haven’t seen any news about it lately.
It's a very excellent game, I have many friends who still like this game now. So I try to analyse the source code of hextcg. It's a unity game, and maybe written by C#. With the help of dnspy, I get a part of source code, but TOO MUCH CODE NEED ANALYSIS!
The most difficult part is the way client and server communication. This game implements a simple private protocol based on the TCP protocol. The protocol is easy to know. When I was happy to be close to success, I found that the complexity of this network module beyond my imagination. There are more than 1,000 cases in the network module, and just the Player Profile part has more than 400 cases. The functions of these cases are very single, but how to combine these cases to allow the game to run normally? It is too difficult to analyze these codes without the server. Have anyone saved the network request records of this game and server communication? Or an ancient test client?
I'm a little desperate.
Maybe I need learn how to write a game using unity first?
I just want to play the PVE module...
I just realised I'm sitting on a bunch of those, they are not marketable but apparently tradable, and you should be able to craft a badge with it
Wanna giveaway regular cards for free (not more than 1 set per person tho), but I must remember you, just pm me
Also have a foil zakiir for trade
Cheers,
Shinshire
Downloaded Magics new CCG (spellslingers) yesterday, it really scratches that hex itch that I had if anyone's looming for something to try.
Hey, i'm working on my own digital CCG and i'm looking to steal some of HEX's unique keywords. However the game seems to have been really poorly archived and i can only find info on set 1 mechanics. Could someone make a list of all the digital keywords for HEX with a quick explanation? Would really appreciate it.
Let them shine!
I was looking at this post https://www.reddit.com/r/hextcg/comments/ko1i47/hex_shards_of_fate_art_preservation/, but unfortunately the linked file can't be downloaded anymore. The only alternative is battleshopper.com , but I really don't want to manually download each card image. Is there anyone here that can share a zip of the cards'images? The one by Accomplished_Fold627 would be excellent. Thank you in advance.
In another universe it could be named Card Citizen: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/uxhqa4/well_fml/
This isn't Hex related and is more curiosity than anything else. Has anyone heard anymore info on dualforce? It looks like they had an announcement in October for a 2022 release and then went completely radio silent.
Just killed a fucking hour scrolling Steam for a new deck builder to spark my interest. Fucking nothing. I just wish I could load up Corinth and listen to podcasts. Fml I miss this game so bad
And someone appears to be staying up all night playing his own game.
still got the game on my pc. will never delete it.
It's been shut down for a year+, but I still have hope some enterprising hacker out there may have been able to decompile the code from Hex and at least activate the single player parts of the game. We managed to do it for several other big games, even that old Battlefront III leak and similar titles.
Surely it must be doable, right?
Was the only CCG I enjoyed in the past twenty years.
I would love for them to make a single player game and continue the wonderful lore and world they built.
It’s like the first Christmas after your GF of 6 years splits up. You have a whiskey with your cat in your lap with the tree lit up in the corner of the room and think “hmm. I wonder what things would be like if I had just picked blood shard over ruby in that last Corinth match. What might have been...”
Just downloaded MTG arena and playing for the first time. It is absolutely a worse version of Hex. Some of the mechanics that are in the new set seem to be very similar to things Hex did.
With the new Alchemy format that uses digital only mechanics I think it is not too long until MTG moves towards what Hex was.
Overall the game is ok. Only playing draft but I can see myself playing for a bit, just isn't nearly as fun as Hex.
