What vineyards would you recommend around Heraldsburg?

We're coming in just after Christmas for a two night stay. I'm really looking forward for an authentic experience and my girlfriend is a little more ... bougie. Really looking forward to the food and wine, but what do the locals recommend? So far reddit seems to recommend, well, everything, it seems. So I'm looking to you to pare down our list and help us plan a fantastic stay in your town.

Healdsburg Hotel Recommendations

So we are honeymooning this January in Sonoma/Napa/SF. We have got GREAT SF recommendations, so I figured why not see what you guys have when it comes to Sonoma.

We are torn between Hotel Healdsburg, Harmon Guest House, and the Healdsburg Inn... We would LOVE to stay at the new Montage hotel, but it's like $1000 more for 3 nights, YEESH!!!

What hotel would you choose between the 3 mentioned above?? Any insight on any of the 3?? They all have great location and look pretty nice

Housing in healdsburg?

Is it true that some restaurants in the area provide housing for associates? I heard Singlethread does that but idk if that’s true. How do people afford to work and live in the area working in hospitality?

Blood donors of all blood types are urged to make an appointment to give this July and help meet the needs of trauma victims and other patients needing lifesaving transfusions. On average, donors give several thousand fewer donations during the summer compared to the rest of the year, but the need for lifesaving blood transfusions remains steady.

To support local hospitals and patients in need, please consider saving a life at the upcoming Healdsburg Community blood drive, happening on Friday, July 30th at 1031 Vine Street from 9am - 2:15pm. Appointment slots are still available for this drive, so please tell your friends and family to join you.

Healdsburg Friday, July 30th Blood Drive

As a special thank you for saving a life during this critical period, all donors will receive a limited edition SF Giant's t-shirt!

Please consider donating if you're eligible. You can click the link above to schedule an appointment for this drive or call 1-887-25-GIVE.

Are tasting rooms downtown actually requiring reservations or are they requiring “reservations” that you can make when you walk up?

Blackout?

Seems the downtown area is completely off. Any idea what's causing it?

Fire evacuation history question

My family of 4 is looking at moving to the Healdsburg/Windsor area for a job opportunity. We love the area and the job is a great opportunity, but the fire threat has us frozen on a decision. For you locals, how many times over the past 4 years have you had to evacuate and what was the avg. evacuation duration. Insight much appreciated!

How is the free public wifi?

My s/o and I will be making a road trip throughout Northern California starting this Friday, and she has a class assignment she needs to be online for 1-2pm.

We expect to be in Healdsburg around that time so we were thinking about going downtown, maybe to the Plaza, and using the wifi there. Is it a reliable source of wifi? Weather looks like it’ll be sunny too.

We will be wearing masks, socially distancing, and respecting all other Covid-protocols during our brief visit. Thanks.

Aluminum recycling

Where do you take your aluminum in Healdsburg to recycle? I have a big bin that we’ve saved up since we moved into town last September and don’t know what to do with it.

Fitch Craft Knife Sharpening

This is a self advertisement post. I am a beginning a business venture sharpening knives. With over 10 years of knife sharpening experience first as a line cook and now as a butcher I have decided to put my skill to good use and keep working when I'm not at work. I have used different local knife sharpening services a few times over the past 10 years that I have worked in kitchens and butcher shops, and each time I've been disappointed with both the quality of services and the expense which is why I decided to learn to be proficient at doing it myself and offer my services to the community at a competitive rate. I live in Healdsburg but I can offer my services around Sonoma County. My email is fitchcraftknives@gmail.com If you have any questions about my services, pricing, what I can or can't do please feel free to send me an email! thanks!. .

ATV or Side by Side Rental?

Is there anywhere in town or area that rents high end ATV or Side by Sides?? Polaris or Can-Am type UTV’s??

Also are they common or road legal to drive around to the wineries etc?

Rented some in Sedona AZ and thought would be a hoot on Dry Creek rd.

Romantic wineries!

Hey, visiting Sonoma County next month and I heard Healdsburg is the spot for some of the best winery spots (touristy I’m sure, but that’s ok). Looking for recommendations for any that may have more of a nice, romantic venue, softly lit type of place that may hopefully also have reasonably priced wine flight options. I’d appreciate any input!

Open to suggestions for any spots that fit this description in the surrounding areas as well.

Is it running too far bad for my health? I am 15.

I am in school XC team, we have practice 6 days a week (3 of them is early morning in wood) , every day we run 3 to 6 miles (5 to 10 km), is it too far for a student? Sometimes vi feel slight pain in my knees and legs. And my heart rate during running is about 160 to 170. Is this a good sport for teenagers?
