Have been visiting the Hawkes bay annually for the last few years. Looking for recommendations on things to do while staying in Napier in June this year. A pub recommendation to watch the warriors would be a bonus. Thanks.

This is interesting, I have never had a good interaction with the owner. I feel sad for the team. It does show how our economy is going to struggle for some time.
Gold on everyone.
Hi Everyone!
I've recently made the move to Napier from overseas, all thanks to a job opportunity with a major firm. It's been quite the transition, with its fair share of ups and downs.
I'm big on staying active, so I've been hitting up CityFitness, but it's feeling a bit too commercial for me. Any suggestions for a more chill gym in the area?
I'm a mid-20s working professional (M), and the only folks I interact with are my colleagues, who are about 15-20 years my senior. Needless to say, we don't exactly share the same interests. Plus, coming from a different country and having a different nationality, blending in with people here has proven to be a challenge. Any tips on navigating this? I am quite sociable & didn't really face this issue in other cities I've lived in.
Thanks a bunch for any suggestions or advice you can offer!
First time here; I am finishing work in Hawkes bay at 2 and then have a flight at Napier airport at 5
I’m just seeking some advice on the best way to make new friends and meet new people of a similar demographic to myself in this region?
I’ve called Hawkesbay home for just over a year now since I moved from Auckland as my partner (born and raised here in HB) got an awesome job offer here. Speaking to him he says that most people around our age are still travelling or working/living in the regions they moved to study in and that those who have stayed typically stick to the friends they had growing up.
I have never had issues making friends in the past and I’m quite sociable. I have some wonderful work friends but they are all about 20+ years my senior. Basically just wanting to know if anyone can suggest the best ways to make friends with other working professionals in their mid to late 20’s?
Thanks ❤️
My 7 year old daughter is convinced it's going to be great fun. I'm convinced I'm going to stand in lines all day.
If you see a grumpy guy who looks like the avatar, give me a wave and make my day better.
Please.
i want friends who have similar muskc taste to me lol anyone here into black metal / dsbm / any other extreme metal??
My Mum is selling her lifestyle block but her 1 acre of paddocks are growing pretty quickly. She's not in a position (health wise) to mow them by hand. Previously someone else had sheep grazing, but we asked for them to be taken away when it was first listed, which was a couple of months ago now. Any advice?
It's too hot. How you dealing with it?

Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.

Hello Hawkes bay residents! I've got a job in hawkes bay around Napier & Hastings and was wondering if anyone could give me the lowdown on different neighborhoods. I've got an open mind and am ready to accept a much calmer lifestyle after living in London for 12 years, however it would be great to have some insight into the area. Thanks all, I'll be practicing my Maori in the meantime!
Edit: forgot to add that I'm thinking of Napier off of the advice from a couple I met who has lived their
Kia ora koutou, I posted a few months ago looking for research participants - currently looking for a final few more. I'm a PhD candidate at AUT and my doctoral research is in employment relations, around young people's experiences at work in NZ.
I’m currently looking for 18-30 y/o workers around NZ to take part – any industry, job, location, etc. welcome. Further criteria info in the ad below.
The research has three activities (collage-making, interview, town hall meeting) that can be done over zoom or in person. It is a bit of a time commitment (estimated 6 hours over this year).
Would be very grateful if anyone is interested or happy to share this around. Anyone interested or after more info can reach me (Tanya Ewertowska) at em12119@aut.ac.nz .
*A bit about me - I'm a doctoral candidate and work as a research assistant at AUT, mostly doing work around care and support workers, but also things like just transition. My previous master's research can be [found here](https://openrepository.aut.ac.nz/handle/10292/13763). I'm also a board member for Young Workers' Resource Centre in Hamilton.*
Is there anyone currently or that has completed any of the Computing certs with EIT in Hawks bay able to tell me what its like.
I see you can do multiple computer certs for free and I was thinking of joining up?
Opinions and advice will be appreciated.
Hi all,
I landed in HB just a few days ago. I'd like to start vaping again but I don't know the rules or the etiquette around it in HB. Is it legal? Can I do it in public spaces? Does NZ or HB consider vaping acceptable or is it generally considered as bad as smoking?
I quit smoking as recently as 1 year ago but I still need to vape to get over the cravings, hopefully not forever. I found a vape shop in Taradale. Any reviews and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)
So if people a)neutered and b)looked after their animals properly, we wouldn't actually need an SPCA.
It's funded by donations and staffed mainly by volunteers.
How much did YOU personally donate in the last year? Every year? Look how much vets cost...sure the vets do their best to keep costs low, but it still involves materials and medications, even if their labour is free.
How much time did you spend volunteering?
No point whining after the fact.
