Coming from tga and wondering there any abandoned buildings to explore
Hey I'm thinking of coming over from palmy with my Mrs and two kids; we've got a big tent, what's a good place to camp? I'm thinking round the twentieth December, gonna come see my cousins and aunties, they're in like Havelock North and Hastings
I don't want to impose on them and have us all staying at their places but also don't want to spend a whole lot of money
Hey,
my partner and I are considering to relocate to the Hawkes Bay with our children. Wondering what are some nice, safe areas for families? Will definitely make a trip to check everything out, but would be good to get some tips from locals :)
Work is no issue as we work from home and we would consider a bit more rural areas too. Just somewhere lovely :)

I'm thinking of buying one of these headsets and just want to try one before buying one. If anyone has one they would let me try, that would be great
Recommendations? Residential, Marewa
To whoever took the time this morning to move our cat onto the grass by the road this morning, thank you. My partner found him on the way to work and while we're of course very upset, the scene could have been much worse if not for your kindness. He was unfortunately killed by what I assume was an impact from a car, but someone took a moment to move his body away from traffic.
Please nobody take this as an opportunity to start debates on keeping cats indoors, ours was a very determined and adventurous outdoor cat who was simply not built to live inside.
Mods feel free to lock this quickly if you like, I didn't make this post to start discussion.
I was riding from Napier to Havelock North this morning and after coming off the Waitangi bridges, I went straight ahead to go past Hohepa, the shortcut, I call it. I hadn't gone far when I heard a "dink" on the back of my helmet that I thought was my helmet strap in the wind. Then, I remembered, my strap isn't long enough to do that, and I felt the weight near the back of my neck.
Lucky for me it was cold this morning and I had on a heavy, padded coat which had the hood folded into the collar, protecting my neck. The light jacket I usually wear would have been a different story. The magpie came around for another go and I dropped my arms and chest onto my handlebars and peddled my ebike for all I was worth. I was so frightened.
Coming back from Havelock this afternoon, I took the long way around behind Hohepa. The two men behind me at Clive said they had been swooped near the Norfolk pines on Marine Parade earlier.
My partner and I are looking for a new place to call home in Napier/ Hastings areas from mid January for at least a year if not more, we can afford rent up to $550 p/w, we both work full time and are in our 30's :) TIA
Hello I’m currently looking for work around Hastings area I’m 25 years old and keen to give anything a go currently living in flaxmere
Anyone on here like rooftopping and just climbing stuff like scaffolding and other things
Hi, I have recently moved back to the bay and am in need of some space to do light work on a car in the new year. I would rather supplement the income of someone elderly or on a fixed income. What I'm looking for is a covered space, thinking a garage that I can pull the interior of a car out in and do some light work on it on my days off, which are usually Mon Tues....Basically applying sound deadening and fitting an after market ac unit under the dash. No grinding or mechanical stuff just some hole drilling (battery drill) and some filling and sanding. I will leave it as I found it. So if you've got grandparents that want some cash help say $50 a week for a coupla months then please let me know. Ta.
Hi all, I'm going to be in this neck of the woods in January for a wedding. On the Friday, I am really keen to get a group together for a winery tour. After looking through the options, it looks like there are many places in the region, so it's quite hard to plan a route!
Are there any recommendations for a good itinerary? It would be a bonus if one winery included a good restaurant.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Article found: Hawke's Bay communities preparing for the inevitable next Gabrielle
I'm looking for an article about locals in the Hawkes Bay area that were putting together their own materials and resources for the next cyclone. I recall an article with a photo under the headline of someone standing in front of a shipping container but I can't find that now.
Hi everyone. Planning for a wedding for 100-150 people late April 2025 in Hastings, and looking at food trucks as an option for catering. Has anyone ever done this for a wedding? If so what was your experience, how'd it work out? Any recommendations on food trucks who do this? We are looking at no more than 45 if head if that helps. Thank you all for any advice given.
Hi, Looking for furnished accommodation in Hastings/Havelock area from late Dec through to end of Feb for my mature mum visiting from overseas. Needs quiet place to stay with room to work from home, kitchen facilities, and good wifi. Does anyone have any suggestions?
With the Manawatu Gorge closed, what's the best route from Wellington to Hawkes Bay? Driving during the day on a Friday and in an electric vehicle if it makes any difference.
Thanks!
Edit: Saddle Road it is! Thank you kind Redditors!
We are moving to Hawke’s Bay next year, my partner will be working at Hastings hospital. We have two children, one of my children will be starting school next year. I’m looking for recommendations for safe and nice areas to live with a good local primary school. We like to get out and about with the children and go for walks around our local area daily and go to playgrounds, cafes, attend playgroups etc.. We are wanting to be no more than a 20 minute drive from the hospital. Hit me up with your suggestions!
Has anyone been able to see this bloody once in 80 millennium year comet that's meant to be visible with the naked eye in the western horizon this week.
I have looked every bloody night and it's been cloudy, tonight is mostly clear and I still can't see the bastard.
Is it also hiding from you and getting very close to a stern talking too???
It better bloody well show itself or I'm going to write a complaint to the Federation.
i’m wanting to get a hippie kinda style tattoo and i’m trying to decide where to get it done. I’ve been to blue lagoon and liberty to have a look but i’m not sure, anyone have any independent artists or recommendations??
Any body know why?
We've had the November 2020 floods and then the cyclone last year so we know how vulnerable we are in Hawke's Bay. It's time to check your Go Bag and emergency supplies.

What y'all doing thats making the Po Po so busy? Not just a one off but every day!! I hear the cops chasing people, trying to surround places and more. I hear they caught a pedo recently!!
Maybe they're doing Uber eats deliveries extra fast for more cash in these hard times?
To the dude walking down havelock rd early afternoon with a mouth full of leaves: are you ok?
Hey HB, I hope it's ok to post this here.
I have a couple projects in mind and looking for musicians will similar ambitions and love for just playing music. Writing our own material, uninterested in current popular trends and just creating what we want to hear.
I could write a novel hear but any musicians interested just DM and we can see if we're in the same brain space. Im interested in four piece with vocals to instrumental to a larger project with vocals, guitar, rhythm section, brass, percussion, keys/piano etc
Anyone interested we can talk inspirations and ideas.

Hi,would like to ask if there are any shop you recommend to frame a wedding photos, anywhere in Hastings or Napier.
Thanks.
Are the people in high vis chalking customers wheels at countdown and paknsave real wardens or is this some scammy scammer?
Didn't get a ticket but seen them chalking wheels as customers leave there cars there.
Doesn't seem like a thing expected of a supermarket carpark.
