Community for Hat Manipulators and Jugglers

Welcome! I'm hoping I can turn this place into a good community for those who practice hat manipulation. There doesn't seem to be many good communities for it, especially on reddit. I'd like to change that.

Anyone still on here?

Just got my first hat from Dube. Started working on arm rolls and the front toss.

Any advice/ good beginner progressions for getting into this?

Plans for the subreddit

Hello all! I'd really like to get this community rolling. Any ideas you have to help out are greatly appreciated.

One of the big things I'd like to do is start collecting tutorials. With the shut down of trickswithhats.org, I don't really know of any good, centralized tutorial sites. There are some good tutorials out there, but they're scattered randomly. I'd like to start collecting them here, so please post any of them that you know of!

The same goes for hatting videos in general. They're definitely out there, but they're not neccessarily easy to find. Any good videos are more than welcome here. Homemade practice sessions at home, performances, or anything is fine.

I'm also thinking of starting a weekly thread for what everyone is working on. I think it might be a good way to track progress, get advice, and just generally keep up with everyone.

Lastly, I want to try and write up some beginner tutorials for getting started. Stuff like where to buy good hats, good fundamental things to work on in the beginning, and general "getting off on the right foot" articles. The biggest problem is that I'm still a beginner at this too. If anyone with more experience shows up and wants to help, I'd really really like that.

Does anyone else have any ideas?
