I’m new to Mississippi (and freshly registered), but I’m just seeking a lil clarity: is it true that there’s no early voting here? As in, we all vote on Election Day (Nov 5)??
I'm looking for someone who has lots of patience to cut my autistic daughters hair. She doesn't mind her hair being touched. She does struggle to follow directions at times, and has trouble sitting still. This will be her first haircut so we're not sure how she will respond, though we expect she will be alright with it. Looking for somewhere in either hattiesburg, laurel or waynesboro.
Hey all — my mother’s cat has two spots where she’s a bit matted. That’s never happened before but mom was distracted with health emergencies and the cat doesn’t like me to groom her.
I don’t think she needs to be shaved but who does a good job in Hattiesburg with cat grooming to help clip out matts?
Not too concerned about cost.
Does anyone in the Hattiesburg know anyone who works in the Epic team at Forrest General Hospital or Hattiesburg Clinic? If so, can you assist me?
To be honest, I’ve lived around here too long of my life and want to move so far away and not come back with no regrets. Yes, there will be people love and enjoy missing, but the city is getting worse in my opinion, nothing has improved but roads. My favorite places I grew up with have all gone; renting anywhere is too high. I just want to move elsewhere farther away to start over and enjoy greener pastures. Preferably Texas or Florida is where I want to move and live. Better job opportunities, better chances of making a living, and a better quality of life. I know not everyone will agree, but that’s just fine by me because these are my personal beliefs and goals to achieving. I know every place has its pros and cons but I’m tired of Hattiesburg yet too poor to move right now.
Sitting by the gold post on Hardy and there are a lot of cops coming through headed towards the university’s direction. Anyone know what’s happening?
What happened (around H'burg-Oak Grove area around 11:30am): It was a T intersection and i was on the vertical "I" part of the "T". This big SUV was stopped at the stop sign to my right when I pulled up to the intersection, so i came to a full stop. Not a rolling stop, not a "StepTwiceOnPedal" stop, but a full and total stop. Big SUV pulls into the intersection in front of my (fully stopped) car, makes a turn to (her) left and hits me head-on. Tried honking my horn before impact hoping the driver would correct, but it was too late. Never seen anything like it.
I get out to make sure the other driver's ok, asked her what happened. She said it was "100% my (her) fault" and that i was "in her blind spot", which didn't make any sense to me considering i'm driving a non-tiny 90's Corolla and she drove directly in front my car before turning into me. A 90's Toyota Corolla that she drove fully past, turned, then hit head-on, was in her blind spot; can she see folks on motorcycles, pedestrians? If a full-sized car can be in her blind spot, what about a kid on bike? I don't buy it; seems more like it was caused distracted driving, because there's no way she could've not seen me
Witness asks if she's called the police, she does and says something about she's married to the sheriff or to someone who works at the Lamar SO or something. 2 cops show up from LCSO. The one was ok, the other one was kind of a dick. The dickish cop was talking and laughing with the driver who caused the accident but treated I & my passenger like we were the bad guys, not the victims of a reckless driver. Kept telling me I needed to move my car, eventually saying that i had "30 seconds" to move my car (while a paramedic was checking my vitals, mind you) or else it would be towed; all while he didn't a word to other at-fault driver about moving her car.
Cops get all the info from both of us and then she just drives off before i can get her name & insurance details, and now i'm getting concerned that i'm gonna get screwed with the repair cost & any medical costs i'm going to suffer, and i'm posting this on my junk account because i'm concerned about any possible retaliation from LCSO
So.... anyone have any recommendations on car accident attorneys or any experiences you've had one? I've reached out to one, but it's the weekend so i won't here anything back until Monday
Hello, I’m currently sitting in a very busy and bright Joe Muggs in books-a-million.
I haven’t lived here that long, but where I used to live we had a stand-alone Barns and Noble store that had quiet nooks with comfy couch style chairs surrounded by books with low lighting where you could sit and read quietly while sipping on some coffee.
I am looking for that atmosphere in Hattiesburg, not just a coffee shop or bookstore, but like a comfy quiet place surrounded by books to read?
Any ideas? ❤️
The airport where I usually go to use their strip is under construction so I am wondering if there is another spot near or around Hattiesburg that one could safely do 140+ MPH with no civilian traffic to worry about. Testing some tuning.. I am not aware of a Dyno nearby either. Any constructive input would be highly appreciated and thank you.
My partner and I are looking to move to Hattiesburg in January. We can afford about 1,000 a month, little more or little less. A must is washer/dryer connections and pet friendly. Does anyone know of anything?
Much appreciated in advance!
I got nose pierced back in July with a straight bar 18g(flat back) and I recently changed it to a loop 16g ( i didn’t realize when I ordered it that it was bigger) . Anyways it’s been almost a week and it stopped hurting after the 2nd day but now it’s starting too ooze. I’ve been cleaning it with saline once a day so idk why it’s starting to ooze.. any ideas to help? Any idea what the cause is? Any advice will be helpful
I’m a disabled student going to school at USM and am looking for an assistant to come help me with certain things during the day. preferably someone who has done something similar before. dm if interested
This is a PAID position!
Hello,
My boyfriend has medium length, curly hair and wants to cut it. I've been going to the same women's cut stylist for years and she doesn't do men's cuts :( Does anyone have good recommendations for a guy who just wants a trim and not a buzz cut? Thanks :)
Hasn’t been on air for like a week.
Does anyone know what happened this evening in the Hwy 98/Hardy St. area? Traffic was backed up on all sides and there were big dark clouds of smoke. At some point it looked like it was coming from the Coca Cola plant area.
I am very actively looking forward employment as an Elic Analyst at Forrest General Hospital. Does anyone know any direct recruiters and/or managers I could reach out to directly?
Place assist.
Thanks!
Are there any runner or running clubs in area? I would love to meet other runners! I feel it would be very exciting to get in great shape and meet new people while doing so!
Currently thinking about taking the court reporting course at PRCC. Is this a good idea for this area?
I looked on google and seen it saying it was then i would look at something else then it said it wasn’t so
So we're does USM go from here? Any ideas who should be his replacement?
I really want a giratina but I don’t know anyone who plays. Is anyone else trying to get on and if so do you wanna party up
I have a general question of how these organizations work. Very basic questions.
Forrest Heath: I think they own Forrest County Hospital and a few others in the Pine Belt. I've been there to visit people. It's a regular hospital. Do doctors work directly for Forrest Health or other groups?
Hattiesburg Clinic: I know they are a physician group. And they have several buildings throughout the area. I've been to their clinics for care. I don't think they own Forest General Hospital, but I'm sure doctors from Hattiesburg Clinic work there. But are employees of Hattiesburg Clinic not employees of Forest Health?
Merritt: It's a hospital. Do doctors work directly for Merritt? Or do doctors from other groups (e.g. Hattiesburg Clinic) just work there?
Again, I have no idea how it all works. I'm just curious. Please explain it as if I'm a high school student. Hattiesburg Clinic has lots of buildings. What is to stop them from just building their own hospital as well?
The store closes this week on 10/19.
Hattiesburg becomes less and less enjoyable to go shopping each year for folks like me who enjoy pop culture.
I have a $40 gift certificate that expires in December that I'm looking to sell. $20 obo I won't be able to use it, my loss your gain
SOLD
NOT the dispensary, the vape shop on the end. Anyone know any info? Tried to stop by today to pickup some vape juice because I got an email last week with "a special birthday gift 30% off" and the place was locked up. Called the number on the door and went straight to voicemail. I just googled them and their page says "Permanently Closed"
S.o.b. - their Cinnabites juice was my favorite
I really think we could benefit from having a really good comic and graphic novel shop, I know weve had some in the past but they’ve all failed? I also know we have a small one downtown but I feel like their selection is really small and they dont have any new stuff coming thru. Im suprised because I know our Hattiesnerd culture flows pretty heavy and we have such a successful local game store (Toptier) but why cant we seem to have a long lasting successful comic store?
