For all those who love the beauteous potato delish.
For the discussion, sharing, and love of the most perfect dish on the planet, hashbrowns.

Curious to everyone's opinions on hashbrowns vs home fries. While I understand that traditional shredded hashbrowns may be more complicated to prepare I feel that they are infinitely better than home fries, regardless of their seasoning. Additionally, I become furious when a diner tries to pass off homefries as hash browns.
Thoughts?
Are there hash brown that only contain potato? No dextrose, no oil, no nothing
Where can I find them?
Thx!
LOL. I never thought I'd ask this question on Reddit!
So, when I was a kid, we would occasionally have hash brown potatoes. We would buy these roughly 5 x 10 x 1" rectangular boxes of Ore-Ida frozen hash browns which contained a two flat "bricks" of about the same size as the box (but half as thick since there were two in the box.) Each of these had an indentation about half way across so you could break each "brick" into two smaller "bricks." In other words, each box contained four "bricks" if you broke them apart.
Anyway, I occasionally think back on these when I'm hungry. Are these still being made? I have tried to find them but, like so many things, they seem to have stopped making them.
I like my hash browns crispy
have a stupid cooking question.
I don’t cook a lot but I bought frozen precooked hashbrowns from Trader Joe’s to make myself. I air fryer them for a little over 9 minutes but forgot to flip them halfway. They were brown and crunchy (mainly on one side) but the other side wasn’t as brown. They tasted fine but some parts weren’t as crunchy as they should be.
Was that safe to eat? I don’t really know what precooked means.
I find hashbrowns to be super beautiful crunchy and savoury. And I always cook mine in oil with garlic.
So since I’ve been with my partner they put syrup on hashbrowns while cooking them it turns them into an almost “Elf” style breakfast in my eyes.
Is it just her that does this or is it a thing that others do?
Step 1: Buy Simplot frozen hash browns (I think they are one of the manufacturers for McDonald’s)
Step 2: Cook in air fryer for 11 minutes at 390F
Step 3: Enjoy!
