April is Alcohol Awareness Month

Hi all, this is kind of early, but April is Alcohol Awareness Month according to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD). Here is what they have to say about this:

Each April since 1987, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) has sponsored Alcohol Awareness Month to increase public awareness and understanding, reduce stigma and encourage local communities to focus on alcoholism and alcohol-related issues.

The reason that I am bringing this up is because even though the audience of this subreddit is small as of right now, there are probably people who have been affected by drug or substance abuse in this subreddit. Even if you yourself haven't abused alcohol or drugs, you probably at least know someone in your life who has this issue. And if you are struggling with this addiction, the NCADD has self-help guides to help you through conquering this addiction. They also have immediate help if your addiction has caused you to think about harming yourself.

Stay safe out there!
