Does anyone still watch those? I started watching them again and I still love it especially the skits
S2Ep19: Date Tech (played pictured) vs Aoba Johsai, this is on a chance ball and the Date Tech players just yelled…Pantaloons to this guy. Is…is that his name? Or is this absolutely bottom tier closed captioning?
Where can you watch Haikyuu in dub? I can’t find it anywhere
I've only just started book 5 of the manga so I'm not sure if it's mentioned anywhere, but is there any moment where Bokuto or Kuroo react to just how incredible Tsukki was playing against Shiratorizawa?
I'm not sure if it's similar but I ADORE Kuroo telling Tsukki he wasn't wrong about him in the Dumpster Battle!
Kenma is the type of person to buy a dog toy or shake his keys in front of a baby because he doesn't know how to entertain one. (This is fun! Drop your own head canons in the comments)
I know this discourse seems to appear like clockwork and has once again been coming up a lot lately (especially on tiktok and twitter) but i’m so so sick of people misinterpreting kageyamas “he’s [hoshiumi] better than hinata” line, and spewing around the narrative that this means he wants to “replace” hinata. it is not some act of betrayal, or a shallow insult — it was objectively true. stating a fact doesn’t mean he “favours” hinata any less. people are also blatantly forgetting that kageyama literally says this because he views hoshiumi as a “reference” for how hinata can improve, in turn creating the “you can fly even higher” scene we all know and love.
i know haikyuu fans, especially on tiktok, have a bit of a reputation for lacking media literacy, but it still baffles me how much kageyamas words (and actions) get twisted and then those misinterpretations being largely seen as the truth. I partly feel like shipping plays a big role in this, and people viewing characters positively acknowledging and/or having a bond with another character as a wedge between their favourite pairing, and so scenes like this then feel like the most outrageous thing ever. now, i’m the biggest kagehina shipper - truther - whatever you want to call it, but i seriously think a lot of kagehina shippers need to put down AO3 and think critically. put down the corny tiktok slideshows, lower your pitchforks and /please/ re-read the manga.
i’m aware nothing is that deep and i’m not saying twisting scenes in order to create angst is a bad thing; it’s normal, do what you want because at the end of the day it’s just fiction. go crazy. but it does irk me how much we seem to not be able to separate what furudate clearly intended vs the perception we created.
stop attacking hoshiumi, stop attacking kageyama, hinata is fine.
I believe that Lev is actually an underrated character and we gotta do smthn about it, he's so cute and silly can we appreciate how cute he's for a sec?
For context I've been an anime only for haikyuu. It's my 2nd favourite anime and I love it a lot. So I don't wanna ruin my experience at all. While I do plan on reading the manga I wanted to know if I watching the movie first would be a better experience or reading the manga and the watching the movie.
Like the do the characters and the drama still hit as high in the movie as the previous seasons or have they rushed it and ruined it?
Edit: To be clear I'm asking would it be better to read the manga first and then watch the movie so that I know what parts are cut out for it to make sense but will have to watch the movie knowing what happens
Personally I loved the Karasuno v Wakutani Minami match (S2 Ep 16-18); thought it had some great moments and gave some love to Ennoshita, a character I relate to a lot.
Might not be the most defining match in the series, but deserves some more love in my opinion.
How about you guys?
Exactly what the title says I’m a writer but can’t draw for shit. But I’ve been working on what happened in the 2nd and 3rd years of high school and would love for someone to draw it with me
It’s become a hobby of mine to scour through this Reddit page to see what people say about Haikyuu fantasy matches, but I feel like a lot of people have the impression (maybe from the OVA?) that Fukurodani is capable of crushing Nekoma. But in the end, the score was still 25-21 and 30-28 which is fairly close. Does Fukurodani just overshadow them in terms of offence, or would it really depend on the day?
I remember Kuroo states that blocking Ushijima would be much harder than with Bokuto, at least.
It’s safe to say that majority agree that Kageyama is the best first year volleyball player we have seen so far. I am wondering who u guys think is the second best player. I would love to say Hinata, but I know that would be so inaccurate and biased of an answer (pre timeskip wise) imo. I’m thinking Goshiki?? He played really well in the Shiratorizawa match and he seemed like a threat in the training arc (season 4).
what was the general community reaction to karasuno losing after nekoma and then skipping a few years into the future, were people surprised, upset, happy?
Can't wait to have the Miya Twins and Kuroo Uniform ver next year!!
so kuro said something about sports / volleyball business being the greatest or something like that. can you guys tell me what was it exactly?
Guys who do you think that the team who beats kamomedai during their Inter high ? You know the one who inarizaki got second place on it after losing to itachiyama ? Because I notice it when Ukai was talking about how they ranking lately they were top 8 in nationals same as karasuno first time after coming back to the stage ....so do you think that Inarizaki beat them ? Or itachiyama? Or maybe shiratorizawa?
how come neither hinata or kageyama said anything or celebrated at the end of this match unlike in the match against aoba johsai?
mine would be:
