in a youtube cat vid, they say yawning and stretching are how cats display affection, add to that nuzzling and scratching with hind legs : )
I’ve tried researching and some people say yes and some people say no, but is there an offical answer??
My 4.5 year old Robin has mites for the third time in two years. I’ve talked with my vet and he’s being treated properly for it, so he’ll be ok. But I have no idea why he always eventually gets them again. I wash his fleece bedding weekly and spot clean it as needed. He gets fresh hay and clean water and he has a roomy Midwest cage. I wash his hideys when they get dirty. I feel like I’m doing everything right but also like I’m a horrible piggie parent.
If anyone knows what might be causing it I’m all ears. These vet bills are adding up.
I have a male boar whose companion recently died. They weren't the best of buddies but he's certainly sad to be alone. I waited several weeks because my other pig had a URI and didn't respond to treatment so I wanted to make sure my current pig was healthy before getting another boar.
I have found one but I'm always worried this will happen again and I'll have to rush out and get another pig. I was thinking about getting 2 babies and introducing him to them. I've had good luck introducing an older male to a baby but I'm not sure getting 2 would be too much as I know male trios don't always work. My current set up is 2x8.
well i might be overthinking, but recently one of my pigs has started licking my hands/fingers/whatever she can get her mouth on. is this normal? shes nearly two and has never done it before, just started doing it last night and pretty much all day today.
is it just the salt? does it have any kind of underlying health cause? totally out of the normal for her
I feel terrible. I feel like I don't have enough time and energy for them. They have a big cage that gets spot cleaned and deep cleaned regularly, veggies daily, a ton of hay, etc. I'm just burned out and I feel that their care could be way better than the bare minimum that I feel I'm providing.
I'm just terrified they will be in a small cage and forgotten, stuck in a shelter, or a meal. I got them for free from a shelter because they had too many animals.
I just don't know what to do. I never felt like I did enough for them, but I also love them and can't imagine them having a bad or shorter life.
S’more says hello to everyone!
Fun facts about her:
-She’s got weird feet! Her 2nd toe on her left paw has an extra toenail, and her 1st and 2nd toe on her right paw are webbed together.
-She had an abscess drained on her neck, and healed up incredibly fast! So powerful!
-She prefers dry snacks over all fresh veggies.
-She’s very shy but she loves watching us play video games.
My boy has gone down in weight over the last weeks - he was 1.17kg and is now 1.16kg.
At what point is it cause for concern? I’ve been away this weekend so they’ve had slightly less food than they’re used to but his brothers weight is constant?
Hello everyone,
I just went out and got my Christmas tree; a piece was cut off the bottom. Just wondering if this would be safe to give to my pigs or should I just find another use for it. Thanks in advance!
We gave him cucumber and when i wereon my way putting him back to the cage he made this noises
I am currently having to change and wash my girls fleece liner daily, is this normal?
Hiya, I've been looking for baby guineas that are being given away in my area but I haven't been able to find anything. I don't want to support pet shops since they usually don't care for their animals and I have personal bad experiences with them but I'm getting really desperate and don't know what else to do. Is anyone giving away any baby guineas in Illinois? Or does anyone know any rescue centers in at least Schaumburg since that's the furthest I'm able to go?
My Willow passed from old age yesterday at around 1:00 wrapped in a blanket and surrounded by love. I am absolutely heartbroken and her cage mate Sweetie is very depressed. 😔 She had a great life but the pain is unreal…
I wanted to sprinkle some of these nuggets on top of my boys regular science selective as they like a mix sometimes and eat anything. Is all of these ingredients safe?
