Embrace the gray! (or is it grey?)
Whether embracing gray hair, sitting on the fence, or just seeing what all the fuss is about..."going gray" can be empowering (and a bit scary).

I use rosemary oil to tame the frizzies
I'll be 60 next month and have been dying my 90% white/gray long hair dark brown with henna and indigo because I'm deathly allergic to permanent chemical hair dyes. I want to experiment with letting the gray grow out but would like to color it gunmental gray so it looks a little more natural and blended. Any advice or recommendations on temporary dyes to do this? Lunar Tides or ??? Thank you all!
At the wonderful age of 40, I’ve decided to stop coloring my hair. I’m currently 6 months dye-free. My naturally very dark brunette hair was getting gray at the root and I was spending too much money and too much time sitting in the salon every 4-6 weeks. I used to panic and pluck then stress and worry that I looked old. Now the mindset that I’ve EARNED EVERY LAST GRAY I have, I undoubtedly love it. Idk if it’s because I’m older but I genuinely don’t care what anyone else thinks like I used to. It has been sooo freeing. I hope everyone can feel this way!
27F. I saw my first gray hair at 16 and I've been coloring my hair for 3 years now. I used to be a brunette, but ended up choosing a darker color when I dyed my hair. Now that I'm considering stopping coloring it, I'm wondering if there's a way to make the transition less noticeable. Should I lighten my hair naturally? If so, does anyone know how to do it? Has anyone done it? Thank you!
Have you had a brazilian blow out on your hair or keratin treatment? What were the results? I am worried about the my white hair yellowing due to heat. Thanks for sharing any experiences you have had with this.
I hope this allowed because I am getting desperate. Even though I live in the north of Scandinavia the white part of my hair turns yellow in the summer. Purple, blue or black shampoo will not change that because those dye particles only color the melamine in the gray hair. I have tried using uv spray for the last two summers. Does anyone have any suggestions to avoid or get rid of it? So far my only solution has been cutting my hair short, really short, at the end of every summer.
I'm 51F and growing out my natural hair, which is about 50% gray. When my mother was older, she had gray hair, but it was old lady hair - short, curly, looked like she had just given up trying to look like anything. I don't want that. How can we make sure our gray hair looks hip, stylish, fun, cool, etc - not "old lady who has given up on being appealing."
i'm only 17 and i'm pretty sure i have like a hundred strands of grey hair? i've noticed gray hair since i was 15 but i'm pretty sure the amount increase by a lot in the past year. and its all towards the back of my scalp. not exactly visible from the exterior but when i part my hair through two i realise theres a bunch of white strands at the back. i read somewhere on google saying it's a kidney issue? omg i'm 17... pls tell me i can reverse this. and what is wrong with my health idk i feel nothing. any supplements/vitamins i can take? beef liver? to reverse this premature graying? I've realised a lot of people have it at their roots and visible on the sides of their scalp but mine is like the lowest layer of hair at the back... and sometimes the roots aren't even white it's just randomly white towards the ends. please give me some advice. all i know is i'm deficient in vitamin D as of two years ago, not sure about other vitamins/minerals.
I’ve looked up so much and I cannot find much on knowing whether my hair is white or grey… I know it’s partly an illusion— but I want to know what illusion my head is producing.
I’m 27 and found my first white hair at 18. I have too many to really pluck them all… I pulled/ cut some today to put in a bag and evaluate…
If most my “gray” hair appears white— am I likely going to have a fully white head when I’m older?? (Think that pearly white some folks have) or is this insignificant? ( I have YET to find a truly silver hair)
I have embraced my gray streaks. Love them, in fact. I am always caught off guard by comments such as ‘I would never let my gray grow out’ or ‘You look so much older. Doesn’t that bother you?’
I’d love a witty, smart and devastating comeback that is still ‘sweet’ 🤣.
Thoughts? Any zingers for me?
I've been using henna to color my greying hair and to keep it healthy. With henna, I have less hair fall and it grows faster.
Now I'm thinking of letting my grey grow out, but still hope to have something that will continue to give me the benefits that henna does. I'm thinking of using cassia, but heard that it may turn grey hair yellow.
Has anyone use cassia on grey hair and what did you use to get rid of the yellow?
