Hello, I was originally going to start the Camino Frances on May 17th from SJPDP but am not sure whether I want to commit to the full camino and am thinking of dipping off after the first 2 weeks around Burgos.
The more I learn about Spain, the more I am fascinated by the Moorish influences and would love to visit Granada for a few days - a week. How would the heat be around early-mid June?
Would it not be worth it and would I be better off perhaps pushing back my camino start day to try and go to Granada first?

This will be my first time going to Spain and doing some solo travel so I'm facing a lot of indecision as to how to spend my time there! Thanks :)

Why are there some tour compaines charging more price for Alhambra complex while providing no more services?

I was tricked when I booked for my family a trip and it looked like official website of Alhambra and then first thing they asked was number of tickets and then payent details and directly deducted my money charging me 39.90 Euros instead of the regular 19 Euro something for same price.

I feel cheated, but anyways excited to see Alhambra!

I am planning a solo trip for the beginning of May I will spend the majority of my time in Granada and I am planning some day trips from there but I would like to do an overnight in a nearby village. I don’t have any requirements but ideally would like somewhere with good hiking routes and some nice places to eat!

Actualmente vivo en Catalunya, y tanto mi pareja como yo tenemos trabajo estable. El cambio lo estamos pensando porque nos da la sensación de que allí hay menos estrés, mejor calidad de aire (y más secundario pero no menos importante, quizá el producto gastronómico es de más proximidad).

We will arrive in Granada in the early afternoon from Seville in July. I would like some help understanding the best option for the Alhambra if we are in Granada for 1.5 days.

We are considering buying the Alhambra experiences and going for the Nasrid Palaces in the night and the gardens the next day in the morning. I believe the night tour of the palaces is shorter than the day tour - if so how different are the tours ? We would like to soak in the full experience at our pace. I assume it will be relatively cooler in the morning for the Garden tours and also gives us another time of the day to see the monument. I was not sure if I should buy the Alhambra experiences or the Alhambra General.

If we do Alhambra on one day, can we do gardens around 10am in the morning, step out for a brunch and come back for the Nasrid Palace in afternoon when it is hotter outside ?

We plan to stay in the Albaicín area which promises great views of the Alhambra. Should we also plan to check out the sunset from Mirador de San Cristóbal?

We would like to see other architecture in the city - are there top 3 other monuments recommended ? Thanks!

I had to remove my jacket quickly to go thru security at the Granada train station. The find my app showed it at the Autobus Station even though I was at the train station. Somebody stole it, right?

UPDATE So I had gotten back on the train with my husband and did all the things to shut it down. Didn’t want to erase it but did put out the This phone is lost. Please call this number. Miraculously, someone did call my husband’s number. It turns out I had left it in the taxi and he had taken it back to the main Association Gremial Taxi office. He found someone who worked there -I didn’t get her name, sweet angel!- who told me they would mail it to me. Between her broken English and my more broken Spanish, I told her I would return to Grenada and pick it up myself. Just as we tried to exit the train, the doors shut and it began moving . We thought to get off at the next stop but no trains were returning to Granada that day so we ended going all the way to Madrid, renting a car and drove all the way back to Granada then all the way back to Madrid. I love my phone! What can I say? I’m now happily sitting on another train with my phone. I had spoken to this woman about 3times today. She kept saying “no preocupates. I know how important these things are”. Thanking the Universe that there are wonderful, kind people everywhere. Thanks for letting me vent this morning. I wanted to share the outcome.

Going to Grenada next month and may need to catch a ride from hotel to train station early morning. How easy it is to get a ride at, say, 5am?

I'm thinking of moving to Granada, and am looking at places that are easy/quick when it comes to getting to the city. So far I like the look of Monachil, Cenes De la Vega and La Zubia. (I have been to Granada many times, am familiar with the city itself, but not so much with the surrounding areas.) Does anyone have any experience with these areas? Also, I'll be buying, not renting.

Background: I worked in travel for about 14 years and have been to the Alhambra four or five times previously but first time for husband. I know to book tickets in advance and had done so in January (or so I thought). When I was compiling my bookings for our late March trip in early March I realized the Alhambra booking had never gone through. Side note, when I was here in March in 2017 I was able to get tickets 10 days out. This year, tickets were booked into April by early March, so tourism is increasing.

Anyway, I realized my only option was for a tour and used Get My Guide. I booked through a company that seemed reputable enough - GrupoXplorer.com The cost for two people was 150 usd, more than I wanted to spend but figured the guide was worth it. Their reviews hovered around 4 stars out of 5, by no means the worst on the site.

Flash forward to 2:30 AM Thurs morning - I get a text advising my tour (scheduled for noon that same day) was canceled which they advised “can happen in the high season”. What I can only assume is that they never actually had the tickets for myself or my partner and were banking on cancelations or the ability to obtain tickets released at midnight. By this point, there were absolutely no options for tickets - we never had luck with the midnight option, and won’t be able to go.

I share this because I realized I can’t actually leave a review for them on GetYourGuide because the activity was canceled - I think this is partially why their reviews are not lower. I am seeing on Google reviews this is a common occurrence for them as of late. Just a word of advice- get confirmation that your company actually has the entrances that they are selling to you.
