just curious guys. grevious angel is my fav. but I've only got into gram in the past year and haven't gotten to much into GP yet!
What's everyone's opinions on the album? Are there any bootlegs or unreleased recordings that are of the same quality?
Hey does anyone know where I can download or stream the new ep’s that Amoeba put out?
Anyone know where I could download this album? Only a few songs stream (in Canada) and is not for sale anywhere I can see. Return of the Grievous Angel: A Tribute to Gram Parsons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_of_the_Grievous_Angel:_A_Tribute_to_Gram_Parsons
#rsd Did anybody get a copy of this brand new archival concert by Gram from 1973 only to find it unlistenable due to skipping, when brand new out of the sealed wrapper? 🤯
I know this sub is likely biased, and maybe this is an unanswerable question, but I wanted everyone and anyone's insight of why the Rock N Roll Half of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame have not inducted our Lord and Savior Gram Parsons.
He did cosmic country first. He made the Byrds change their sound for one album. He did the Eagles sound, with the Flying Burrito Brothers, before the Eagles. I personally think he was a precursor to the Outlaw country movement.
Any insight is welcomed. If you want to just air some grievances that's also fine
Hi everyone - first time in this subreddit.
I'm curious if anyone out there knows where these clips originated from, seemingly around the time of the release of the Gilded Palace of Sin LP. Gram is just shining in these, and the whole original lineup looks like they're having a ball. And of course...whether they did more than just Christine's Tune and Hot Burrito #1 at this shoot.
Have any fans been able to track down the location of the Gilded Palace of Sin Photoshoot, specifically the cabin itself? Barry Feinstein's (who has since passed) said the photoshoot was in the Mojave Desert, but that's all I could find
I'm curious to see which biography about Gram you all would recommend. I see there is at least three out there, Twenty Thousand Roads, Grievous Angel, and Hickory Wind. Not sure where to start.
Thanks!
Gotta be something going on in the desert for the 50th of his death, no?
Hey y’all. I recently discovered Gram Parsons and his music, and I’m hooked! What a pioneer he was and what incredible music he gave us during his short time here.
I could talk forever, but my main question is: does anyone know if there are any recordings or videos out there of any of Gram’s songs with the vocal tracks isolated? I’m a singer, and I’m currently trying to learn Emmylou Harris’ parts on songs like “Return of the Grievous Angel” and “Love Hurts”, but often times her parts are quite hard to pick out of the mix with both her and Gram singing, and it seems like I could more easily learn them if they were isolated.
Does anyone know if there are any recordings or videos out there of tracks with vocal parts isolated?
I went to the last one pre-Covid. Blew me away. At the Chapel in the Mission District.
