Edit: Seriously, give me suggestions and I'll create a huge compilation of images based on them.
I've noticed a small discussion about different types of goth styles, so I decided to create my own list. This is a very and I mean VERY serious topic, and if you have any additional suggestions, please feel free to contribute.
Here’s my list of goth types:
And finally,
I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Translation is: „the sea of despair, made of blood, sweat and CUM“ (yea literally CUM) 😀
r/goth/ does not talk about goth derivative media. The other subreddits are about the clothing, the music, and the sexy. Where does one go to talk about any movie, series, cartoon, comic, video game, etc. that has been inspired by or influenced the goth scene? Think goth stories like Gloom Cookie, Nightmare and Fairy Tales, Writhe & Shine, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Edgar & Ellen, Growing Up Creepie, Making Fiends, The Addams Family, The Munsters, Lenore, The Crow, Bizenghast, Blood Tea and Red String, Return to Oz, Lemony Snicket, Burton's animation, Gormenghast, etc. I grew up on both mallgoth and trad goth inspired media, so it is to fun find Halloween, horror comedy, cartoon horror, which are enjoyed by goths and non goths alike. This includes also cybergoth media. I personally enjoy how dark cabaret, horror punk, and deathrock take their ideas from places like b-movie and camp, not only into gothic literature or horror stories, but the positive punk ethos where anything goes for imagery and artistry. I feel this spirit is often missing by goth places which places more emphasis in goth fashion over the creation and story telling found in its media. Thank you for hearing me out.
