The place for gin!
Gin - "The Other White Liquor"

Its for my dad, I'm in Japan at the moment and will be visiting Kyoto next week. He currently seems to like Four Pillars the most in regular scenarios. We live in Australia if that helps.
I have no clue about anything alcohol. I've heard good things about Ki No Bi and the I'm happy to go to the distillery, although the original and sei versions are available at the airport too. Which of these would u guys recommend? Any other suggestions would also be great, I plan on bringing back only 1 or 2 so options that differ slightly in taste would be great.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you :)
Edit: Apologies, I've just seen that there are alot of posts like this already, I'll take a look through those as well. It's seems there are a few good other options like Roku or Ohoro but idk how to go about getting them. I guess I was leaning towards Ki No Bi because it was also convenient to buy.
hello everyone, I am looking for this gin. Unfortunately, I can't find a website that still has this gin in stock. It is sold out everywhere. I have also had no success in the Cologne area. Do you have any tips/hints on where I can still buy it?
So excited to try them both out want to them different ways. Gin and tonic of course and also gin Rickey. The Oasium bottle also has a drink recipe on the back that I plan to try. Any other suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
New boy to add to the family, really love it, probably IMO the best since Neptunia, but fruit forward, so if that’s not your thing then you may not agree.
Slow distilled in custom-built, medieval copper pots! Happy Weekend! Cheers
Hello everyone,
I used to work at the Gordon’s Gin factory in Laindon, Essex, UK and when the plant shut down & moved to Scotland, they gave everyone a commemorative gift set. I just found it in my garage and it’s 25 years old.
Does anyone know if there are websites or forums where people are willing to buy this sort of thing? Is there such thing as gin collectors?
Thanks
Heard some mixed opinions on the Brazilian pineapple so figured I'd give it ago. Excited to try Oasium!
They featured it at the Park Hyatt in Ho Chi Minh City. It was DELOYSHUS - if you like citrus infused gins, keep your eye out for it.
Fresh off the truck we’ll see what it entails very excited!! 🙂
I know it’s not really gin because I’m not distilling with botanicals, but I infused some vodka with juniper and some other botanicals and made a pretty tasty “bathtub gin”.
Curious to know others experience!
I never usually buy flavored gins but this came with a cool free glass hahah. I'm a sucker for cool gin goblets...anyway. It's delicious! Was very pleasantly surprised by this Spanish gin with Strawberry, had it with Schwepps tonic ( as I didn't want to waste good tonic as I expected it to be bad) and lemon slices, but it was great.
I live in Japan and have been able to choose between 40% and 47%. Recently it has been disappearing, and after a search to find out what is happening it turns out the 47% will soon be discontinued altogether.
I saw they were sneaky with this in the States a while ago now, reducing to 44% and more recently 40%. I can’t figure out why the supply has still been available here.
I have bought 10 bottles already, with 12 more on the way, and wonder if I should buy more. It’s dirt cheap here, so I think the only problem I have is where to store it, and the dilemma of opening a bottle knowing that every time I do it’s one less in the world.
Exceptional
I live in British Columbia, and have a background project to find a locally produced London Dry gin in the vein of a Sipsmith, Fords, or even Beefeater. There are many craft gins made here, and some are lovely, but most of them emphasize their terroir, or are more in the "new world" vein than traditional London Dry. I'm looking for something that scratches my pre-prohibition cocktail itch.
That said, I recently heard about Junicopia Gin, from Sons of Vancouver, which advertises itself as a juniper bomb, and sounds promising: https://store.sonsofvancouver.ca/products/junicopia-gin
This London dry gin is for die-hard gin lovers. It is juniper, on juniper, on juniper, and it packs a punch. It’s intended to be enjoyed after mixing, by proper juniper-heads. Please respect the juniper, proceed with care, and for the love of love use good tonic!
I'm curious if anyone here has tried this!
Does anyone has a recipe that would approximate the actual taste of a malaria prophylactic Gin and Tonic that soldiers and officers of the Raj would have actually drunk to prevent malaria?
