There’s a listing for one on reverb for 10k, saying it’s one of only 179 made. Is that true? Is it just a particular run of them? Why are some $6k and others high as $14k?
I humbly come to ask your opinion, do you think this Les Paul is a good deal for $1300? According to the owner, it is from 2007 and apart from the aesthetic details, it is completely functional.
Hello everbody
Is there anybody here that can tell me a little bit about how the Custom 54RI neck feels compared to the current Standard 50s neck?
Are both neck profiles identical or are there differences?
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, I need some advice. A few months ago I ordered a les paul on guitar center, but I was accidentally sent a Custom Murphy Lab 1964 SG heavy aged instead. I'll say, it wasn’t the worst surprise—it’s worth about $2,000 more than what I paid for my original order.
That said, I’ve never played it and don’t have any intentions of keeping it. I’ve been trying to sell it but haven’t had any luck so far. What do you think would be a fair price to list it at?
Hey there !! Happy New Year!! Recording some Heavy Guitar Riffs using my Gibson Sg Special plus Guitar of the Week 32 loaded with Emg pickups!! For Amplifier I’m using a Peavey Invective MH!! 🤘🏼
300k? 500k? Long or short shaft? Audio taper or log?
I got fancy new pickups for Christmas, and I killed one of my volume pots installing them. The one that does work sounds perfect, so I want to be sure I get the same value for the replacement one.
I have a beautiful old late 60s SG Special that comes with a bit of sentimental value, but I can't stop thinking about moving it on in order to fund one or two really nice new guitars. Here is my logic:
This specific type of SG is an iconic instrument and has been played by a billion iconic guitarists. Sounds fantastic, but the more I play it the more I can't get along with the extremely narrow nut width cominded with the gigantic round neck. It makes playing in general very hard. And, it is really hard to intonate. If I want it intonated correctly I (supposedly) need to have a wound G string on which again, I just can't get along with. It's uncomfortable and makes me not actually want to play the guitar.
The are a few new Gibsons that I'm liking quite a lot, and I condering myself 1000% a player and not a collector. I'm just curious if anybody has any input, has been in this situation before and has some insight that I don't.
This is a Les Paul Studio Session (Honeyburst) and it seems to be a controversial model according to some of the comments I've read online. I understand the confusion since a Standard faded is only $300 more. However, the weight (7.5 lbs), ebony fretboard, and heel cut of this guitar really appealed to me. It also has push / pull coil tap, phase, and bypass. So far I only find the bypass one interesting.
One thing I find strange about this finish is it looks quite different depending on lighting / angles and pics vs in person. For example, in one angle it looks almost like a plain top and in another angle it shows wood grains and some flaming. I never experienced this with my other guitars. At first, it bothered me and made me wonder if it's because of the lower quality top but it feels and plays so nicely that I have just accepted it.
