A subreddit for geeky jokes, funny geeky image macros, and any other form of geek comedy.
Are you a geek in the mood for some comedy entertainment? Well, come on in!
There are varying definitions for the word geek, as well as its having changed over time. The working definition that this subreddit uses is "someone who is obsessively interested in a particular topic." This means that you don't have to be excessively smart or have bad fashion choices. Although obsessive interest can sometimes extend to neglecting your hygiene over your interest, it doesn't have to be that way.
So, what does this definition of obsessive interest mean? Well, it means that people like sports geeks are welcome. Let's clear something up: a sports geek is not someone who enjoys playing sport, it is someone who has an obsessive interest in sport. Such a person may follow sports very closely, they may have a deep knowledge of all the major sports' results in their country from 1998 to the present day, for example. That doesn't mean they enjoy playing sports. They may enjoy analysing games, predicting results, etc. Of course, it is possible to be a sports geek and enjoy playing at the same time, but it is not a prerequisite.
Now that we understand what a geek is…
I'm not a fan of rules, even those that are meant to create a welcoming community, because I believe, at least online, those things should be the community's choice, so that's the only rule. If it fits that definition of geek, then it's allowed in here. Others are allowed to mock your submission, mock your particular interest, etc. and they wouldn't be breaking the rules.
Of course, I have a feeling it will be computer geeks and their circle (gamers, programmers, graphic designers, web developers, movie makers, game designers, etc.) that will be most popular here, then science geeks, then history geeks, then film buffs, etc.

The bartender asks, "Can I get you anything?"
“Yeah”, reply the bytes. “Make us a double.”
Her enjoyment will be trebled until such time as her father removes the ability to troubleshoot high-speed serial links.
Spread the love! For ÂŁ1 we will ship you, anywhere in the world, for free, a d20 and a love letter to show our appreciation! Please pledge by following the link below, for more information about our campaign please keep reading.
In essence we want your help to fund our project, in doing so you will get some amazing dice from Norse Foundry, Chessex or Q-Workshop (dependant on pledge) and will work out cheaper than buying direct from them!
We've teamed up with some amazing dice companies to bring you best dice for your games. I must particularly recommend Norse Foundry, just purely for the noise their dice makes when you roll it!
So, the project:
We are developing a few different streams of content to promote the wonderful DND/Tabletop gaming community. I'll start with the stuff thats in development at the moment:
A live play dnd podcast set in a Steam Punk setting written by one of us (Using DND 5th edition), We are aware there is already tons of live play podcasts out there but we just want an excuse to play more DND and we always play our campaigns with a bit of a twist.
A weekly Tabletop News series to give you quick 10-15min updates on up and coming content and tabletop news. We will include top ten dnd podcasts etc. as well as new ones for you to try. Updates from Wizards, Paizo etc along with all the news concerning your favourite personalities in tabletop gaming and reviews on gaming conventions our first cons this year are Star Wars identities and Dragonmeet.
A world building podcast in which we share some of our favourite tips and discuss the dillemmas of becoming an obsessive world builder. In this series we will be building a brand new world along with you using the tips provided by the interwebs and compare them to our own techniques.
We are also beginning to film a tabletop culture based sketch show, we all have Improv/Stand-up comedy backgrounds and just added in our love of tabletop gaming, its bizarre and funny and Im loving what we have come up with so far.
Things in pre-production:
A web series in which we explore different topics every week and find the best sources of content for that topic, so you can find what you need quicker and get back to running or playing your game
A web series in which we go around the UK and visit Game shops and Comic stores that host Tabletop events and show off how important it is to get involved. There are a number of Comic/Game stores closing around us and our remaining local store has a great space for Tabletop gaming but no one attends, we want to #SaveOurStores.
There are other things we have in pre-production at the moment but unfortunatly not able to share at the moment.
but while you're waiting snag yourself a deal on some amazing dice and you'll be kept up-to-date on our progress and recieve our eternal gratitude!
Before we get into the big gaming company dice stuff we are also offering rewards for anyone wanting to try tabletop gaming, for a pledge of ÂŁ3 you will receive a set of 7 polyhedral dice and a beginners guide to Dnd 5e. For more details click the link below.

Today is actually the 20th anniversary of "Hackers", and we thought it might be fun to try out a new-fangled social fad thing and do a dubsmash compilation of lines from the movie.
Video at the bottom of blog: hilarious Hackers goodness.
