How do I get to my raw dna data after uploading from myheritage, and how long until your heritage becomes available?
Cladefinder haplogroup is: R-Z2125
Morley viable haplogroups are: R1a-M417 and N-P189.
A golden horde interaction seems possible but if the Cladefinder haplogroup is correct, direct paternal descent is possible? I'm unsure
Thank you.
Hi Guys
For some context: My father is from Indonesia and has one grandparent from Europe. This makes him around 75%Indonesian and the rest European
My Mother: is around 7/8 European(Baltic, NW European) and 1/8 Indonesian.
My father is from the island of Sulawesi(Gorontalo region). They are closely situated to the Melanesian islands and people from there have some admixture of austronesian/melanesian but to a far lesser extent than the eastern islands. I know this because the Gorontalo region has had ties and intermarriage with East indonesia Sultanates as Tidore and Ternate.
My initial test was on myheritage. Which rougly makes me around 49% european, 39%indonesian, and a few percent baltic and ashkenazi Jew.
Within this 39% Indonesian i came across 3-4% Melanesian in my gedmatch tests. Now i know of a ancestor who came from the Moluccan Islands, but that is around 5-6 generations ago. Is this a possibility of the melanesian blood? When in comparison to some full blooded Filipino and Indonesian people's dna tests, i get higher scores in Papuan.. and that just accounts for roughly 39% of my blood.
Also can someone explain the South Indian part? How is this connected to the Austronesian people?
Thanks in advance.

I recently uploaded my dna and I received an email sent to my actual email.
They don't cloak your email address?? Is there a setting to hide it?
Is this normal? I don't even understand half the email. Something about family trees and surnames (none of which are in my family line).
I've never heard of this person, either full name or last name.
Can someone please help me with my results? I’ve been researching how this all works for about an hour and I’m so confused still.

i have my ged online math test tmr guys, wish me luck!!!
So Ive tested Myheritage and FTDNA And ive got 16,7 irish scottish and welsh in MH and 9% english in Ftdna, can someone understand my gedmatch results and tell me if i might have english/irish ancestry, and if it is old celtic dna or an actual english or irish dna ? Thanks
I'm mixed (black and white) American. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding the results and seeing I think some discrepancies maybe or just quite a few different results across a few of the tests so would anyone be able to help some? Particularly confused with the Asian (I think Southwest Asian in particular)heritage, as that has shown up in a few different ones but they've been a bit different across the boards. Though I also don't know how significant any of that is, but especially since I just have a small amount of quite a few different things. I'm pretty confident on at least the West African since it is the largest (and Eastern European somewhat), though I guess this was to be expected some since I'm mixed and this would be a bit over the place.
I'm also having a hard time understanding what Volga-Ural, North Sea (that is Western Asian, yes?? Caucasus?), and a few others are here due to how vague it seems. I do know from Ancestry, I think my results came back as Jewish for about 15%. I was also wondering if there was anyway I could figure out specifics (like it it's Sephardic Jewish? Ashkenazi? Mizrathi, etc.) I don't know if these results may help clarify more on that though. I do know our maternal great grandmother's last name is Zatrinski, and I believe her father came from Austria or Poland. Then our paternal great great grandmother came from Panama I believe, and but I know nothing about our paternal grandfather asides from him being Jewish (I'd imagine ethnically), and both sides of my family are Black.

I have uploaded my raw dna from myheritage to gedmatch and my kitnumber is MW2348577.
I don't really know how to find my G25 results or to use GedMatch so if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
I was wondering how far back GedMatch went? I've heard some people say it can pick up ancient DNA and others say that it can only go back about 500 years. There's a lot of conflicting information on it
Hi everyone!
I’m not sure if this is possible, but I figured I would ask. My brother, mother and two of my maternal grandfather’s sisters are all showing African and Indigenous heritage in their results; both on the testing sites and GEDmatch with the admixtures. Is there a way to narrow this down to allow me to figure out which branch of the family this may be through? We have a plethora of distant relatives on GEDmatch that I could use for comparisons.
Is this possible?
everytime i do it i get error 2421 No parent child relationships found in GEDCOM. is this normal?
I was on GEDmatch and I matched with a person who I believe to be related. They share a last name with one of my relatives. But I'm worried now there's a significant likelihood being a false positive.
We share 17.4 cM of total dna, in 2 segments with the longest being 10.3 cM. 483468 SNPs were used and 69.657 of snps were fully identical. The segments had 0.33 and 0.37 snp density ratio. Can anyone help to determine the likelihood of this being a legitimate match.
If anyone wants to help me interpret these that would be amazing! My Ancestry test results for lack of better wording was basically all of Europe with Germanic Europe, England and Northwestern Europe, Scotland, Sweden and Denmark, Eastern-Europe and Russia, Ireland, Whales, France, and Spain. I don't really know much about my ancestry. Tried doing matches and comparing trees but everyone else seems to be just as stuck as me. So I was wondering if maybe this could give some insight. I have some vague ideas but just wanted some other opinions! I'm from America btw

The result seems fine but the oracle 2 way seems wayyyy off. I am literally 3/4 ashki and 1/4 east med Sephardi (Greek, Levantine and Turkish)
I'm from the UK and my 23&Me results came back with a small percentage (I forget exact figure but I think about 1.5%) Iranian heritage.
I've traced this to my paternal side, partly due to an odd comment that my aunt once had from a doctor, asking if she had Persian ancestry to which she said no - but when I mentioned my results she joined the dots and wanted to look into it further. I've corroborated it as much as I can with matches on my dad's side.
I don't know if my aunt has done a test yet, but I am keen to find out more about this and find out how far back it goes. Noone in my dad's family has any idea, and I'm just really interested to know more as I have done a reasonable amount of family history and there are no clues in our tree.
I have rerun my results on 23&me and this part of my ancestry always remains even at the most conservative setting.
Would GED be able to give us any pointers that we wouldn't get through 23&Me?
ETA I'm from the UK, most of my heritage is British with some Scandinavian.
Thanks all
edit: dang, in edit mode the tables looked so clean but now after posting the results look messy.
Hi,
New to GED, followed some advice on here with how to generate the results. Can someone tell me what the results actually mean? My data is from myheritage (73.6% East European, 14.9% Irish, Scottish and Welsh which could just be confused germanic ancestry, 9,4% North and West European, 2.1% Ashkenazi Jewish which was the most surprising to me).
I heard that Polish people are genetically the closest to Belarussian so that is not surprising to me, however the Mediterranean bit intrigued me. Italy, Spain, Greece... how accurate is this?

My kit, as well as my parents and siblings kits, all show MMPS results with very very low distance (top 3-5 results all under 0.2 distance) for the same mix of 2 ancestries, on a few different Dodecad calculators. Do you think we can confidently say we have ancestry from the general areas that it suggests? The population mixes it suggests are all about 75-85% northwestern European, and 15-25% Iraqi/Iranian Jewish.
I used the K13 euro genes calculator

I had set up a GEDmatch project before GEDmatch was sold. I had no issues setting a new project up, but I remember that I needed 50 members to set it up.
A friend now wants to set a new GEDmatch project up. He says he is being prompted for a file on his computer, but he doesn't know what file to give it. My guess is that it's a *.csv file, but I don't know what all would be required in that file.
I have looked on GEDmatch and am not seeing any info on how to set up a new project, and I think I have worn out Mr. Google and Mrs. Google and the whole Google family, trying to find anything that talks about setting up a new project.
Does anyone have any thoughts? TIA.
Title summarizes everything. It has not yet been confirmed that the sister's DNA sharing has been turned on. Obviously, this needs to be confirmed first.
Gedmatch was suggested but none of us has ever used it.
The first question is can one of them upload both of there kits to Gedmatch or do they each need to upload their own?
Obviously, the uploads have to happen first but the second question will be what happens after that?
Thank you for any guidance.
Hello everyone , i just got my dna result from ged match as indian indonesian My grandpa were muslim from malabar coast, and i got these result , one of them is Cochin jew. How accurate is this? Thankss
In the last 1 year or so, a Youtube channel started to post Videos about Neanderthals being tested and plotting on Vahaduo, and other genetic calculators, very close to the Khoisan and Pygmies, just too much close for hominids from a different species.
This makes no sense because if they were so close to some of us they would have been Homo sapiens sapiens.
It turned out the people behind the channel have an agenda and are not reliable, and the results shown in their Video are utterly bogus.
But then, could someone who does not have an agenda, and would not tweak the results and the calculators, put a Neanderthal and also a Denisova on Vahaduo and display here how far they plot from the various modern human populations ?
I think it would be interesting to see what they really are like.

After uploading from myheritage and searching the data on eurogenes k36 I saw 1,38 arabian result. can it be just a mistake or these results are that accurate to show small percentages reliably? What about the reliability of others? (From what I know my father's side family lived on the border of poland and belarus, whereas my mom's side in southern Poland and grandpa used to say to my mom in her childhood that our family came from Hungary) I would like to know if any of this data can actually explain a phenotype running on my mother's side that everyone had black or dark brown hair, black brows, brown eyes and tanned skin of yellow undertone
