Subreddit to discuss gaming and other such fine stuff for the citizens of Omaha, NE. Hopefully this can become a place for gamers of all sorts in Omaha to connect, discuss current events in the industry, possibly organize some events, in game functions or local guilds/organizations. I am open to all idea on how to generate content for this subreddit and make it relevant and a place people will want to visit.

How do yall find out about local concerts and shows in the area? I'm a comedian on tour coming to headline The Sydney in Benson Monday 9/9 and I was wondering if there were any local blogs, Instagram pages, arts papers, or events calanders folks look to to find out about shows. Any info is appreciated!
thanks!
Yo gamers I’m looking for some crack can one help me beat this level ?
Hi, I'm new here... to the group. Is there a discord of people who play Steam or something. I always am playing alone and it sucks! Some games you just need a party.
Need a buddy to play Minecraft w/! I'm F(18) so please someone around my age!
FYI Nuke-Con is holding an Aftershock (gaming day) at The Geek Room Saturday, April 20, from noon to 10pm. (Though TGR is open until 1am). Board, card, & dice games; the last one I went to even had TTRPG scheduled.
You know, if someone with some creative ability can put together an avater and banner for this sub, I would be more than willing to get them added. . .
I need to get out of the house. My wife Nd kids are driving me crazy. I can bring over my laptop, we can play hell divers two or something.
Hey folks! This subreddit is pretty dead, so I figured Id try and wake it up.
What are some local gaming meetups or conventions that you look forward to through the year?
OComicCon is the obvious pick, but Im not into comics at all, so its about 15% made for someone like me.
First, sorry if not allowed! Posting on this subreddit because gamers are cool and maybe one of you knows someone in need of a nerdy roomie.
I’m a 26 Female, open to male roommates but you must be respectful. I am currently looking to live at the Biltmore in West Omaha in a two bedroom. I’m open to other apartments/condos/houses though, preferably in a similar area but again I’m flexible.
Rent Requirements: The Biltmore requires that together we make 3.5 times the rent. So you should make minimum $2,700 a month. Rent for you would be $732.50 + the amenity package, trash, electric/gas, renters insur = $896.50 per month. This is an approximation since I don’t know how much the utilities will be exactly. A garage ranges from $35-$100 a month depending on what you want which would be in addition to the $896.50 per month, otherwise they have a parking lot you can park in for free.
Amenities: Included in amenities is also high speed internet (WiFi) and cable TV! They have a 20,000 sq foot gym, three outdoor pools, one indoor pool, running track, sauna, movie theatre, tennis, pickleball, sand volleyball, basketball and racket ball courts. Plus other things like a car wash and direct access to the Big Papio Hiking Trail.
About me: I am a very creative person and I like to innovate. I’m very open minded as well and am a non-conformist. Usually I get along great with intellectual types or quiet/creative people. I also love to go to the gym and eat healthy. I am usually a night owl but I’ll be working a 9-5 job so I’m going to probably sleep at around 10:30 most nights and wake up at 8am. I like the house to be clean but if things sometimes get out of order that’s fine. A good temp is like 67-72, but 70 is usually perfect for me.
Animals: Also I have a little dog and a free roam bunny! If all those things sound like something you would be happy with send me a message
Just curious to know if there is or if there is any interest in competitive gaming in the Omaha area? Meaning local leagues. I saw some older posts saying no, and wanted to know if that had changed. Has it been attempted in the past?
Omaha Local content creator (Mental health/gaming )
Hello there all, my name is Marc and both my wife and I are proud to call Omaha home. My 9-5 job is doing lab 🧪 work for hospitals 🏥 but I’m starting up a YouTube channel that focuses on Mental health and Anxiety conditions as a passion project after work. You see I’ve been diagnosed for years with severe anxiety conditions (GAD, Panic disorder, PTSD) and my goal is to help others in Omaha and beyond. My hope is to create a friendship zone where all of us can come home to after a long day of work and relax. I know that sounds simple but in my early 20’s I struggled to make IRL friends and true connections as I traveled a lot for my job and my anxiety conditions held me back. I really need your support ❤️❤️💯. Starting a YouTube is not easy and even one view, like, or comment would mean so much to me. I hope that if you come to my channel you’ll see that just like omaha my channel is a friendly community just waiting for you to join. I really hope to see you there friend. Channel name is :

New cafe named Cafe Monster opened in September. Great place to chill out, see some anime, read (or buy) manga, pick up tons of anime related products, and best of all they have Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball, and a few other types of cards they sell here (tons of rare ones as well for the collectors). Apparently, they also have events almost every night where a ton of people play Magic. I really suggest trying it out, and make sure to tell them Striker sent you.

Hey everyone, just wanted to put out a post and let you all know of the new community hub in Omaha called The Collective's Corner! They are a hobby shop that carries Pokemon and other card games, as well as other collectible items. But what I'm here to talk about is their gaming hub! They have a dope setup that is made specifically to be a gaming area for people who want to play together! They have Xbox One, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and even a gaming laptop that has streaming capabilities. Come check it out sometime! If you want to check out their socials, they are on Instagram (@collectivescorner) and Facebook!
This is a well known gaming event. Im new to this sub, but thought I would help out and make sure people know about the next NETWAR event coming up, since they announce it really early in the Discord server. Here is the direct copy and paste from the announcements channel there:
*PLEASE SEE COMMENT FOR UPDATES TO THE TIME, THE ONE IN THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN CHANGED
"Greetings,
The NETWAR staff is excited to announce our next event: NETWAR 41.0. We have some big and exciting news! We have found a new home! Our next event will take place at College of Saint Mary’s in Aksarben Village of Omaha. It will begin on Friday, February 17th at 6pm and run through Saturday, February 18th at 9pm (27 hours non-stop).
The event will be hosted in CSM’s brand new fieldhouse called the Lied Fitness Center. The floor space in this venue is four times larger than Baxter Arena’s floor space, coming in at 69,000 square feet! This opens up a lot of opportunities for our event to expand with more attendees, a larger expo area, and additional activities. We are very excited about the possibilities with this new venue!
More information will be coming out in October, and we are planning to open ticket sales in November. Please mark your calendars for the event!"

Local Omaha nerd here looking for DND lovers who like storytelling, map building or playing!
I bet there are way more streamers in omaha than there were before you started this. People should post their streams in here, I'll watch.
Hey gang, just moved to Omaha a couple months ago. I haven’t played D&D since high school but I’d really like to get involved with a group? Thanks!
