What is this?

Some interesting finds today!

I've found about three of these growing in my yard when mowing low for winter. Initially, when first uncovered by the grass, they appear to be tree roots escaping the soil. But on further examination I find they are fungus as I can easily break through the fleshy cap layer. 

Inside the black material is soft and spongy, but when small parts dry spores spread quickly. 

I'm in heavy clay soil, and it has been a very dry year. But I try to keep my grass longer in the summer, so I can see how the environment must have been right. 

Can anyone identify what it is? What conditions does it need for growth and is there any chance for concern? (I'd be surprised.)

What a cutie. I think they got seeded from a snake plant i had nearby about four months ago. You can also see the mycellium poking up through the soil and another mushroom back left. 

I should fix my drainage issues with this pot but also i want to support them. How can i best transplant them outside or into an enclosed pot?
