Visiting Fujairah

I am in Fujairah for a day or two and I am appreciating how laid back and simple life is here. I would retire here if I could one day lol.

I visited the beach, would love to hear if there is any place I could try.

UAE National Day Festivities

Hello good people of Fujairah! Any ideas on how to meaningfully participate in and enjoy local festivities on this Eid Al Etihad? I heard there was a Police band march yesterday morning for example 👮‍♂️🎺❤️

Any suggestions for family friendly activities would also be great. I’m a workaholic sometimes I’m going mad that all offices I do business with are closed for 4 days! But I guess it’s just because I don’t know how to go out and participate in Fujairah’s version of the National day long weekend 😅

Cultural events, public festivities, charity runs, library events or even events that support local businesses would be great suggestions.

Exchanging US license for Fujairah license

Assalamu Alaykum community! Anyone has had success converting an expired US license to Fujairah license here? I know this is 100% allowed in Dubai with a theory test but I hear every Emirate has its own rules on this topic.

Happy UAE national day!

Where to stay

We visited Abu Dhabi und Dubai in 2016 and are now looking for a relaxing vacation (all inclusive) in Fujairah, end of November.

All those hotels we’ve found it says, there’s a lot of (loud) Russians. Can you recommend a place?

Meeting group

Hey! I’ve moved here a few months ago and I’m looking to make some friends. Are there any groups or activities that people gather for here?

A little about myself: I’m 24, into photography, art, painting, history, psychology.

I barely see young people here :p what are the hotspots where people can socialize or young people go to?

What to do as a tourist?

After spending time exploring the usual Dubai and Abu Dhabi spots, me and my wife are trying to explore the rest of this interesting country. We want to spend at least one day per emerate, but its hard to find good quality information about the other five touristically neglected Emirates.

As an example of what we are looking for, we had a great time exploring Al Ain's cultural and natural sites and their Traditional Handicrafts Festival. The Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary was also a Great hidden gem in Dubai for us.

So people of Fujairah! I ask appon your hospitality for advice! What sites you can recommend us to visit? Nice places to eat ? Where to go at night ? Hidden pears ? Festivals ?

Anything you can share about your land will be appreciated :)

Questions, questions, questions????

Hi all. Newbie in Fujairah, moved here from Dubai.

Loving the place. Loving the peace and quiet and, most of all loving the clear roads.

However, need help from the experts on a few things.

Food: Tried, Zebian, Saudi Broast and Shan-e-Pakistan and loved their food. What else? where to get the best shawerma, mandi, madhbi, pancakes etc.

Car: Need reliable contacts for Tyre Shop? Wheel Balancing, alignment etc. Mechanic? Battery replacement. Tow truck etc.

Schools/Nursery for grades 4 and FS1

Saloon etc. for kids, men and women

Grocery shopping? where to go for monthly grocery shopping ensuring that I save some dirhams

Outings for a 10yr old.

Internet: Du or Eitsalat? Also, does Virgin sim work okay here?

Please help and pour in your suggestions. Thank you you kindly.

Cheers.

Parent's Visa

Did anyone have applied for a Parents Visa in Fujairah?

I have a Fujairah work visa and they said the salary requirement is not that big compared if you do it in Dubai.

Is this true?

How can I do it?

Anyone knows the whatsapp of Amer there? :)

Newbie Question: Is the internet in Fujairah reliable? 🌍

👋 Hi folks! I just moved to Fujairah this weekend and hoping to be an upbeat contributing member of the community 🙂

Are any of you holding on to multiple home internet connections to deal with downtimes here? I do get 5G on my phone at some spots in FCC but I don't know if its going to end up being super reliable in the long run, even as a backup option.

For those using fiber, have you experienced downtimes? If so, how bad is it? Do they respond or fix it when you raise a complaint? For those using 5G based home internet routers, do these connections end up giving you a better reliability or at least a more economical plan compared to a regular mobile hotspot?

In my books, for the love the beautiful mountains ⛰️ and FUJ nature, I can compromise on speed as long as ping time and uptime is 😇

Free Orange Tabby Kitten for Adoption

Does anyone want a very friendly orange kitten? He lets you hold him & carry him. He lives around my work area, but since cats are not allowed there they want to euthanize him 😓 I don’t know what to do, I can’t take him because my place doesn’t allow cats & I’m moving soon, let me know if anyone is interested, I’ll give you a carrier & litter for free too 📍Located in Fujairah

Just a post to say I hope everyone’s ok there, asalam alaykum atamana takun bikhar (sorry if my Arabic is rubbish btw!)

I now live in Lancashire, England, where I come from, but years ago I spent a few years living in the emirates, I went to Fujairah for work a lot of times, working with a falcon rehabilitation centre in Dubai, and absolutely loved that part of the world and the people there, so I felt compelled to say something here and that I really do hope everyone there is ok.

I can’t imagine how shocking and completely alien it must be to have these floods, I really do hope that you are all ok and that the family in, I think it was samakam? That we’re so nice to me, are ok too, again I apologise for the bad Arabic!

Excuse me, why does the United Arab Emirates not implement a committee system similar to Switzerland and a monarchy similar to Malaysia? All decisions are voted by the Supreme Council of the UAE, and each Sultan takes turns as the rotating chairman (temporary monarch) for three months! Ha ha ha!

It turns out that the Swiss Supreme Council is composed of 16 members, and each member takes turns as the rotating chairman for three months, right? And Malaysia has nine Sultans as the supreme head of country(monarch) for five years in turn, right? So why does the United Arab Emirates not implement a committee system similar to Switzerland and a monarchy similar to Malaysia? All decisions are voted by the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, and each Sultan takes turns as the rotating chairman (temporary monarch) for three months! And the chairman in office (temporary monarch) has only the power of implementation and no decision-making power! Ha ha ha!
