Have you ever felt a sudden, passing sensation of excitement, a shudder of emotion from an epic moment of a song, or a climax of a movie? That is what is called "frisson", a word rooted from the French word meaning "Goosebumps" or "Shiver". It has been linked to rises in dopamine levels which is, in turn, linked to your outlook towards others.
Frisson is a physical reaction, it's not just about "that hit me right in the feels." Unless you get a physical tingle/chills/goosebumps/shudder, it does not belong in this subreddit. Please consider /r/aww for happy submissions and /r/baww for sad submissions if they're not frisson-inducing.

Just learned this movie existed. Besides being amazed that I didn’t know about movie with such good actors and music, the last scene of the movie has several perfect frisson moments where music and images line up perfectly. Like at 3:30 when Diane Lane sings “it’s gonna be over/before you know it’s begun” and Michael Paré walks off into the sunset forever.
When it comes to music, visual and performance arts, I’ve always been one to experience continuous and one could say, “intense frisson”. I can easily fall into a hole and sometimes I feel like I’m kind of chasing that “frisson high”. While I watching a video on YouTube, I felt my body immerse itself into the music. The frisson I was feeling entered into a new and beautiful state of euphoria that I’ve never felt before. I can only describe it as if golden gates on a cloud had just opened and I rode into this rainbow frisson dimension on a fucking unicorn.
Anyone else have a similar experience of frisson transcendence? 👀
