I have a Emax tinyhawk 3 plus freestyle and it appears that the mounting size for the aio and vtx is 35x35mm but I can't find any other vtx or aio or fc that have that mounting size. Are my measurements off or is 35x35mm a proprietary mounting size?
Woke up to try my tiny whoop recently and I’m getting a LOT of static. I fly 15 ft away from myself on the main floor of the house. Nothings changed but I noticed these lights switching. I believe they used to both be on.
I’ve noticed the same issue on both of my whoops so it’s not the VTX. I took the cover off my goggles just for this pic. Made sure the antennas are seated properly, took out the module and re-seated it. Nothing seems to work.
Any help would be much appreciated!
My way of keeping the vtx cool while I figure out my motor issue. Lol. Whatever works I suppose
This happened after I got stuck in a tree and was bashing the throttle both in turtle mode and regular arm to get it out. It came out and flew great for a while until this happened. Bad motor? Bad esc? Desync? What should I do to trouble shoot this and make sure it doesn’t happen again
Hello, this is my literal first time ever getting into FPV. This is my first ever drone. I have a technical background and enough knowledge to understand how these work I bought foldape4. It took forever to arrive. I got it on January 18 and I wanna say I got here January 28. It’s sat around for a couple of days. I finally got a battery for it. Today was the first day I used it I was flying around. It flies just fine From about seven or 6 feet in the air. I let off the throttle and it fell to the ground, landed perfectly fine and then burst into flames. No, it was not the battery. I still have the battery. It still usable. It seems like the board completely burst into flames. The underside of the board caught fire like there was a loose connection or something from the factory And now the drone is completely unusable. I haven’t even flown it for five minutes and I’m gonna have to go through hell and back with Darwin FPV, as their support is horrible. I just wanted to enjoy my hobby and now I have a $400 paperweight
His name is Tatsu and he is a good kitty.
Hey Everyone,
I recently made a video on five tips to get started flying FPV in 2025.
After 3 years of flying FPV, these are the five things I would recommend for beginners:
The video is relatively short (~15 min) and is very high-level but hopefully beginners can get some useful information.
Also, I’m fully prepared to get roasted by some FPV vets on this sub. But let’s be honest, no one video will make anyone a better pilot. In reality it’s a combination of the time and effort spent learning from multiple videos / articles / blogs, which hopefully gives you a somewhat solid foundation to start. But the reality is the way you become a better pilot is to, well, be a pilot. And that reality means crashing a lot at first and learning from your mistakes.
Anyway, for any newbies (or vets), I hope you get something out of this video to help you along your FPV journey!
Happy flying 🫡
I have now broken the connector of the antenna on the vtx twice and was wondering if there are any other vtx that will fit on my drone, get similar range and have a more secure connector? Also, when I do get a new vtx should I tape the ufl connector on since sometimes they are loose.
I was trying to find a container to store my 300mAh Whoop batteries, and I found this 2.5" hard drive case, which fits 17 batteries almost perfectly. I had to cut the foam on the sides to make room for two extra batteries.
I thought someone else might find this case useful.
Hi all,
Hybrid pincher here, I have RM pocket and start to wonder if it's not too small. Looked nearby to find a store to try the bigger option and found a lightly used TX16s MK2. Should I just try it?
Thanks
I have been flying my Mobula7 75mm Whoop for a couple weeks now, I bought it as part of a RTF Rotor Riot set that came with Fatshark Dominator Goggles and a Radio Master Pocket.
I am wanting to get into a 5inch for outdoor use and I am having trouble understanding what BNF drone would work with my setup. More specifically when it comes to the VTX and camera.
The one linked is ELRS 2.4 and has a BLITZ 1.6W VTX, would this mean it binds to my dominator goggles? Online research shows it should work with Walksnail?
For the price this one seems like a good start 5inch, I plan on building my own in the future but for now want a BNF.
Is it worth it now to buy other goggles Like hdz and ws with the release of the 04 lite
I'm putting in a race day quads order for a new esc :/ bcz I fried my last one😂 anyways I went ahead and decided to get a couple of upgrades while I'm at it. I went with some rush fpv cherry antennas(the two pack(budget asf)) a smoke stopper(that's why I fried my vtx) and I wanted to get some race wires to help clean up my drone a bit(and they were 5 dollars for some light up ones(again broke hs student with a drone club sooo budget asf)). I was curious what people think of them. Do you use them? Are they worth it? Is there any reason to get them besides cleaning up my drone? I found some very limited reviews from people online so i figured I'd ask here.
Second time they have lost a package and claimed it was delivered. I have 24/7 video surveillance around my house, not just a doorbell, and there was nothing delivered. Nothing I can but be out almost $300.
Using the Dji Goggles v2 with O3 air unit, anybody got recommendations for stubby antennas? Looking for shorter ones so I can fit it in my bag a little easier without having to rescrew them everytime.
Do I even need dual band?
Thanks fammy
Was messing around in betaflight like the idiot I am and enabled dshot 600 and now after changing it back to one shot only 1 motor starts Tried reflashing and reset any help would be appreciated
New release from Jumper, the Jumper Smart Elrs 100w, hall gimbals, color screen RX.
$50 USD / $75 CAD, but it seems like they havent sent any out to reviewers pre-release?
Looks like a good alternative to the Radiomaster Pocket - cheaper, less wattage, slightly bigger, color screen, tempting for indoor / field flying drones and sim practice.
Howdy. I have been practicing flying in liftoff with a RadioMaster Pocket, and have been enjoying it. My original plan was to wait for spring and pick up a drone, but with Chinese companies already starting to raise their prices, I think it's best to get in sooner than later.
I know the main options are cinematics, freestyle, and racing. I'm kinda looking for something that just can do a little of all three. Something that can grow with me, but isn't solely in one of those camps. I like the idea of doing some speed but not racing, doing some tricks but not whipping through abandoned buildings, and getting some cool shots of my city but not filming a movie. Does that make sense? Ideally, it's something that has some range and battery. I just like flying around but would hate to have to recharge after a couple minutes. GPS/return to home would be nice as well.
I'm leaning towards digital, the analog video feeds really bother my eyes. But if digital is too expensive then maybe my hands are tied. So yeah. Looking for something that is a good all-rounder. Probably a 5 inch. I'd like to stick with the Pocket unless that's really going to inhibit me, in which case let me know what direction to upgrade (Boxer?). Would love to spend like $800 max? But if I need to spend a little more to get something decent then so be it.
I know I need to learn how to solder and build one myself, but unfortunately I just don't really have the capacity to learn how to solder right now. So pre-built before they get too expensive is the current plan. If I crash it, I crash it and then I'll figure it out from there.
Thanks!
Preferably Moonlight, but Avatar is okay too. I have a 75mm tinywhoop and Fatshark Dominators, I'm looking for something with a bit more power. 3" is okay, 3.5" or above is better.
I'm looking into this and figured I'd ask "those that came before me" for wisdom.
Someone is selling a fatshark hdo2 with a rapid fire +antennas for 375. Is that worth it for my first pair of goggles?
Hey everyone! I hope this isn’t a dumb question for this sub—I’m a bit confused about something specific.
I recently switched from an old Avata to a 5-inch quad with the O3 Air Unit, and I’ve noticed that the recording bitrate seems much lower on the O3 compared to the Avata.
Both are set to 4K/60fps, yet when I check the actual file properties (in Gyroflow or any editor), I see:
• Avata files: HEVC at ~103 Mbps
• O3 files: HEVC at ~69.9 Mbps
I expected them to be similar, but the difference is quite noticeable. Am I missing a setting, or is this a known limitation of the O3?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
My Radiomaster Zorro shows "No SD Card". Since it did that i tried to put the SC Card into my PC and it indeed wasnt recognized. So i took a new SD Card and Put the EDGE TX Firmware on it and tried to put that one into my Zorro.. Still "No SD Card". Even if i boot my Zorro into Bootloader Mode it says "Dictionary is empty".
Since I find it hart to believe that the initial SD Card and the Radio gave up their lives at the same Time, i wonder if I did something wrong installing the Firmware on the new SD Card..
Any ideas?
I am an engineering student working on a submersible remotely operated vehicle. This ROV is to be used out on a boat therefore a screen would not be feasible due to the glare (our boat has no roof). It seems like FPV goggles that can connect to the Raspberry Pi we are using is the best option at the moment. If you would be able to recommend any I would appreciate it. Thanks!
Hello fellow FPV enthusiasts,
I'm excited to share a project I've been developing: a fully modular FPV drone. The concept is to create a platform where each component—frame, motors, flight controllers, and transmission systems—is easily interchangeable. This design allows pilots to swiftly customize their drones to suit specific needs, whether it's for racing, freestyle, or aerial cinematography.
Potential Advantages:
Challenges to Address:
I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this idea. What do you see as the main obstacles to overcome? Do you envision specific opportunities or applications for such a modular drone? Your feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
