Good places to meet?

I am 16, looking for a good place to meet other kids my age. I was at cruise tonight, I used to go with my sister when she was 16, and there used to be a lot more teenagers. I kind of hung around the group tonight, didn't interact much, maybe tonight was a one off? But I would like to know if more teens do go to cruise in the o Reilly parking lot, or its just more an a adult thing? And other than cruise, where are some good places to meet other teens?

Proposition 130

Not sure I am 100% against better police funding per say, but then also families of an officer killed in duty get 1 million dollars, I get making sure they have compensation to be able to afford another place to live and start their lives back over with something...but a million dollars? I would not even get half or even close to that if my boyfriend died at his job. Like I have to admit that part was the big reason I have decided to vote no on that, like no the state should not give a million dollars to people. But yeah with housing being so pricey I don't think there is really an excuse to juust hand out a million dollars to select people while the rest of us struggle.

Don't get me wrong I think families that lose a family member in the line of duty or whatever, should be compensated so it does not destroy their life, but not sure 1 million dollars is necessary for that. But I may be biased due to being frustrated about apartment costs.

How do the rest of you feel about 130?

Renting fishing gear

Visiting Fort Collins for a wedding with my kids. We’ve got a free afternoon and wanted to see if we can catch some fish. Thinking of Seaman reservoir. Is there any place we can rent some gear?

Visited for a day from out of state

Good lord, I have never been anywhere with such aggressive, rude drivers. People just straight up refusing to let me over, tailgating, hogging the left lane, slamming on the brakes. Is this just the norm here? Can’t say I’ll be back.

Don't be like this jagoff at the Arthur Rock Trailhead

Seriously? Not only you leave your bag of dog shit right in the middle of the trail but you didn't dump it in not one but TWO trash cans only 5-10 steps away. If you're reading this, go fuck yourself. We gotta treat our trails better folks.

Part time job

I desperately need more money. I'd like to get a part time job in addition to my full time one. The problem is I can only work a very specific set of hours. I can only do 8am-2pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Any suggestions besides fast food places? Would retail be able to work with that schedule? Thanks!

Touring band looking for openers

Hello Fort Collins! Please delete if this type of post is not allowed, but my Minneapolis based indie rock band John Forrest and The Model Citizens is coming through town and playing a show at Surfside 7 on Friday, November 8th and we are looking for a couple local bands to join the bill. If you’re in a band or know a band that I should reach out to, please comment or PM me!

Thank you and see you November 8th!

Jail deputy

Hello, I saw the county was hiring jail deputies. I was wondering if anyone has been through the academy and was wondering if you had to be good at push ups.

Stolen mountain bike

Hello, this is a longshot post, but a friend of mine visited Fort Collins this week and her mountain bike was stolen from a bike rack (it was locked up) on CSU's main campus in broad daylight. She left town yesterday and filed a police report, but neither of us expect the report to go anywhere. It's not an inexpensive bike, and it isn't easy for her to replace.

My question is basically what else can be done to try to find the bike other than the police report? I have called local pawn shops and the bike co-op, but nothing yet. In my mind, if you steal a bike worth a few thousand dollars, you're going to try to turn the bike into cash. I've never stolen a bike so I am not sure how to do this, where should I be checking to see if it will turn up? I have the serial number and more photos of the bike if I need to prove ownership.

I'm not hopeful, but it's worth it to us to give this a shot. If anyone has seen this bike or comes across it on Facebook marketplace, craigslist, etc. please let me know.

Additional details- Juliana Joplin, small, full suspension JOPLIN AL R, DARK GREEN, SM

Recommendations for good local pumpkin patches?

I found some suggestions from years past, but wanted to ask now since sometimes experiences change.

Seems like Bartels is pretty popular, but also seeing a number of highly rated patches on Google maps with fewer reviews (Osborn, Hometown Harvest, Something from the Farm, Hankins). Any favorites and/or ones to avoid?

Also if you wouldn't mind sharing any of advice/tips/tricks for a more enjoyable experience (times to go, things to bring, etc)?

Thanks!

CFSE

What is everyone's thoughts on community for sustainable energy? They knock on my door every year and I'm still uncertain of the validity, always feels like a ponzi scheme when they get to donations even though they are a 5013c, also influencing politics as a non-profit is interesting.

Anyone ever eat at the oriental house? Trying to recreate their sesame chicken...

So... there was this Chinese restaurant called the Oriental House, in what became the Ethiopian place (which was also awesome...) and is now Kon Thai, which is also Awesome (and for those who don't know, one of two chefs that opened Cafe De Bangkok is the owner of Kon Thai)...

Anyway, I was a super big fan of Oriental house, and they were my favorite Hot&Sour soup and Sesame Chicken. They were... different... if nostalgia isn't blinding me, and I've never had anything similar.

Does anyone else remember them? If so, do you have any close comparisons or recipes?

I literally tried to hunt down the owners and get the recipes, but I could only find relatives and they never contacted me back, lol.

As a total side topic, The best alternative, though completely different flavors, imo was Taipan. That is of course closed now, but the owners of it now run Sally's Kitchen which they have changed some recipes, but others are still unique amongst american chinese cuisine (szechuan dried beef). I actually have worked out some of Taipan's old recipe, but that was because I was told some of the "secret" ingredients. I kinda thought the sesame chicken there was a Japanese/Chinese style, and Ketchup, I kid you not, was the base for the sauce.

Try as I might, I never could recreate Oriental House Sesame Chicken, but they also closed too early in my life for me and I didn't know much about cooking at the time.

ISO Community for Friend

Hi folks,

I have a friend who's looking for community in the Fort Collins area. He's 18(M), on the spectrum, and has difficulty starting conversations with people he doesn't know very well, and has trouble connecting to those that don't share similar interests: history, politics (e.g., communism and socialism), and strategy games.

If anyone has any resources or suggestions on where he could start, I'd appreciate it.

Village Medical

Throw away account for obvious reasons. If you get a call from village medical that your doctor quit, it’s not true. They’re firing several doctors and telling people they quit. Time to jump ship everyone - I’m not sticking around any longer
