So I'm set to begin a Masters Course in ABA with Capella Univeristy, but I understand it is not ABAI accredited as a ABA program. The university itself is regionally accredited - but the program isn't recognized by the ABAI (their courswork is acceptable to sit for the BCBA exam) per the BACB. But I wanted to know if I began my coursework with Capella in order to raise my GPA, would I be able to transfer to FIT and do they accept credits from Capella?
Does anyone know if that Mobil right outside of the campus asks for ID?
I am an international student applying to Florida Tech and have been awarded a $16,000 per year scholarship with my admission. Is this a typical amount, or should I consider seeking additional funding? Additionally, are there any other scholarships or financial aid opportunities that I could explore to help reduce the overall cost?
My son applied over a week ago I thought we would have heard something by now. Any thoughts on how quickly FTech issues admission decisions?
First of all, thanks for reading this. I am currently preparing my application to Florida Institute of Technology and I am applying through Common App. I was asked to upload my green card information, as I am not a United States Citizen, but a Permanent Resident. However, I do not know how to upload it. Do I have to upload only a picture of the card itself, front and back?
Got an interview for a CFI position this week as an external hire. Looking for anyone who recently went through the interview process to share their experience?
Hi all, to be clear I don't go to Florida tech but am in the same age group (m22) and looking for an apartment if anyone is interested in being roommates. I have a dog and work a lot, I don't smoke, and am clean if that helps
Canadian Working professional on vacation visiting melbourne and the airbnb i am looking at is in the university neighborhood (vassar, rutgers, rollins st) area.
How safe is this place to stay?
Thanks all!
Hello! I just got accepted into the spring semester of the above Master’s. I do not have a background in this at all (bachelors in Psych) and want to hear any advice and experiences for those that have been in this program. What are some things that I can do to help myself come January?
has anyone decided to purchase all of these and think its worth the money? the handbooks are basically the slides that you can download frkm your course (while taking it only) on your computer except way more content and organized better? and the fluency flashcards are in the units also but when you graduate FIT you will not longer have access to the digital one? so im wondering if buying the physical cards will be more beneficial long term
What programs does FIT offer that does not have calculus in the curriculum?
Hi everyone, if you're an online student I've created a Discord server separate from the main server. It's more of a group chat for those who don't know what Discord is.
It's all set up properly for the most part. You can also find it by going to Discover and joining the student hub with your Florida Tech email. Non-online students can also join.
I decided to follow the plan for MA in Behavior analysis. Please do not be like me and start taking your electives in your 3rd semester. My final semester looks like this
BEH 5076, 5074, 5040, 5065, 5046, 5072.
I am lowkey STRESSING before the semester even starts. Why did I do this to myself LOL. I wanted to take 5076 earlier, but the class filled up so fast :').
Hello, guys I’m going to start Florida institute of technology aba in masters practice online program this is the 5th edition. I start in a couple of weeks and I’m nervous can anyone tell me how the program is I’ll be doing full time but it doesn’t seem too bad cuz I’ll be taking three classes but not at the same time I have two that start in a couple weeks and one in November that start. Can you break down how the curriculum is and how it is managing the course load and working as an RBT 30 hours a week. I decided 30 hours a week would be fine compared to my usual 40+ hours. Please details details!
Any feedback is accepted!
Hello all,
I am a senior who goes to UConn and I’ve been a manufacturing engineering major there and I’ve been trying to switch to Mechanical Engineering, however they have denied me despite being qualified. Now that it’s my senior year I have to take senior design and they won’t let me. So I applied and was accepted to Florida tech.
In short: I can go to Florida tech coming in with around 75 credits and in the mechanical engineering major or I can stay at uconn and do an extra year, and that extra year I will only be taking senior design.
Both options now require an extra semester minimum, so for people at Florida tech… what would you recommend?
Starting my first year at FIT this August, just wondering what software I will be expected to download as an Aerospace engineering major (astronautics concentration). I know I won't be doing simulations my first semester, but I want to get a head start at learning the software! I’m also looking to upgrade my laptop and the software demands will help me gauge which one is better!
its been a while since this has been posted, and i figured its a reasonable time to post, considering classes are starting soon. here is the official unofficial florida tech discord, with 1300 members:
this server is for questions about admission, classes, or just discussion. hope to see some new faces!
Does Florida Tech have a Discord server or something where I can chat with other students? I'm an online student so I'm not gonna be meeting anyone on campus for a while.
Idk if I should be surprised or not. I applied for AS Computer Information Systems for Fall 2024 term 1 as an international student studying from abroad. I sent my transcripts, diploma, resume (with honors, test scores, freelance experience, skills, and languages), and SAT scores (1230 total, 610 reading, 620 math), and I will take the Duolingo English Test later next month. Btw my high school cumulative GPA is 3.07, I graduated last year. Now the question is if I should enroll or not, since It's not clear if I can use the degree to transfer to a 4-year university in Florida (UF, my dream school, doesn't clarify if they accept the degree and course credits by default).
hey guys, I was looking for a college in Florida that has Fully online associate's degrees, because I live abroad and trying to save some money right now, and I just discovered that Florida Tech has some. I want to get a bachelor's degree from a public Florida university (thinking of UF) after I get my associate's degree first. Are the courses and the degree useful in this case (transferring to another institution)? I have known about Florida Tech for about a year now and always thought it was public until I realized it's private and courses might not transfer 1:1. Also, DEI policies are a big thing for me (prefer not to have any), does DEI play a role in online degrees or is it only if you're on campus? Also, I have a 3.1 GPA and 1230 SAT and will probably take Duolingo for English proficiency (I'm already near native so not a big problem for me)
Edit: And also, what's the difference between transfer hours and credit hours? I know what credit hours are but not "transfer hours" (for associates: 45 transfer hours, 61 credit hours)
Hello everyone, my wife is planning on applying for a Behavior Analysis Practice M.S. at FIT (online course), but on the application portal, there are two different options:
Looking it up on FIT’s website there seems to be information only about the “Behavior Analysis Program”, with no distinction between these two. Does anyone know what the difference are? She wants to start it asap so if the 5th edition one is good to get the BCBA certification, that would be great
Thank you
Is there anyone here planning to attend Florida Tech this August with a major in BS Astronomy and Astrophysics? I'd love to connect with fellow students in the same program before the semester starts! Also, where exactly are you from? I am from mumbai, India
I'm looking for an off campus roommate for the Fall semester. I've already been approved for a 2B2B at Aqua apartments, really nice apartments about a 10 minute drive from FIT. The apartment complex has a gym, pool, in-unit washer dryer, valet trash pickup and some other amenitites. Monthly rent will be ~$1100-1200. If anyone is interested feel free to DM and I can give more specific info.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I'm excited to share that I've been admitted to the Florida Institute of Technology! However, I'm unsure about which housing option or dormitory to choose for this upcoming year as an undergraduate student. I've planned to live on campus but could use advice on the best dorms available.
Additionally, I would greatly appreciate your insights if anyone has information about off-campus living options.
Thank you all in advance for your help!
I was exploring options for undergraduate courses in the USA, and I came across this college. I wanted to know if it is worth it studying computer science there.
In August 2024, I'm thrilled to start at the Florida Institute of Technology. As an Indian student pursuing Astronomy and Astrophysics, I'm wondering if there are groups for international students to connect with.
Hello, I am going to FIT as an aviation-flight student. I have submitted housing forms and deposits, is there anything else I need to submit before orientation? Some flight schools require FAA medicals, does FIT require that before orientation?
Hello, I am a senior that received an $84,000 academic scholarship from Florida Tech. I got accepted into the BS Aeronautical Science-Flight program and want to find out how much I would have to pay for the four years. The website is not specific, thank you!
Hey y'all! I'm am an Indian Student, will be attending Florida Tech in the fall 2024 semester as a graduate student. I saw that Florida Tech is a school with a lot of international students so I thought to maybe come on here to get some info about any WhatsApp/Telegram groups regarding housing for students like me.
