This would have been 2006 a free show in Philadelphia (Festival Pier at Penns Landing apparently) - I remember a guy took Wayne up on it and he proposed to a gal whose response was "fuck yeah"
Curious if that happened in other cities and to anyone who frequents this sub.
just finished watching it since my copy came in the mail today. (ive never taken drugs before, but I kinda assume that's what it's like.) saw that there's some outtakes and I loooove outtakes, so if anyone knows how to find it specifically ON THE DVD. I do realize that I can Google it and find it on YouTube or Vimeo, but I don't want to. if y'all don't know, I will just Google it, but I'd rather see if anyone knows first. if anyone knows how to find it on the ps2 that'd also be cool since that's my DVD player but I have a PC that can play films also :D if anyone knows please let me know. love y'all !!
Hey everyone, new Lips fan here. Been going through their discography and I can't seem to find any studio album after Embryonic on Spotify. Is anyone else facing the same issue? Based in the UK btw.
https://uquiz.com/HqSu5C take it if you'd like! there's only five options for songs though. 😔 if y'all want me to you can add suggestions and I might make a sequel !!
Sticking out like a sore thumb on that poster lmao
Everything I had hoped for and more. Great crowd, excellent show!
Need help finding a song.
Looking for help finding a song from Weezers & The Flaming Lips concert on 12 Oct 24 (last night from the date of this post) in Palm Desert.
Sadly, the song I’m looking for wasn’t live, rather it was from the intermission music played with the lights on, so I can’t just use the set lists from Weezer or The Flaming Lips.
It came on after the Flaming Lips played, but before Weezer.
All I can remember is the line “I’ll be stuck”.
It was played while Weezers roadies were tuning up Weezers guitars.
It was also followed by a Mumford and Sons song.
I know it’s kinda long shot, but maybe someone has a video of the intermission, or just flat out know the song.
Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this.
PS, I’ve never heard the Borderline cover before last night, and know I’m obsessed with it. Lol
As for anything, there is a tension between digging deep and going broad. Since they came out, I have always loved Yoshimi and the Soft Bulletin, and when American Head came out, I was blown away. But I have yet to go deep into the catalog, and just started listening to the Flaming Lips from the beginning. As with many bands that have been around for a while, the first album doesn't really represent what the band evolves to become. So, I was interested to listen to Hear It Is, and though you can hear some hints at what they might evolve to, it mostly reminded me of the Replacements (which was also noted by others I have noticed). So, my question: What album would you say represents the clearest transition point between the version on Hear It Is to what THE Flaming Lips eventually became? Thanks!
When you're listening to a Flaming Lips album, what three-song sequence (if you have one) really makes you say, "I fuckin' love this record" or otherwise just pushes the right button for you?
Mine is In the Morning of the Magicians, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, and Are You a Hypnotist?? from Yoshimi. Some of y'all might think this is a dumb question but I had to get it out there.
Anyone have it before? Can’t wait to taste it later.
I have a version in my collection that starts with some random chatter and room sound and then abruptly switches to the band playing some notes and Wayne going “Did they go to us…?”
Where is this from? I’ve had it so long I forgot where it came from. It’s not in Apple Music.
Wayne confirmed from the stage in Portland she passed away hours ago in a car accident. Very somber but still amazing show.
