Guidelines
Feel free to post anything to do with Final Fantasy XII, International Zodiac Job System, Revenant Wings, Fortress, The Zodiac Age and any other FFXII-related discussion here.
Discussion of glitches is allowed, but please don't flame people for their use (or lack of use) of such. Discussion of hacking is also okay, but I feel that defeats the game entirely, so try to keep that to a minimum.

Is it 1 time only per save? it won't appear on bazzar again and I wanted a dupe for another char
What do we think would be the optimal 3 character team? Thinking this:
Knight/Black Mage White Mage/Shikari Uhlan/Time Mage
Unsure about the third person, thinking maybe Red Mage/Time Mage? Looking forward to others responses!
What was Venat’s plan? At the end, he said he got what he wanted. The crystal was destroyed, and the age of stones has ended… but one guy used the real stones, once, long ago. Weren’t all the fake stones from him and Cid? One could argue he was ending the possibility of future interference from his fellow… people, but they sure didn’t seem to be doing anything at the time until he started causing problems.
Or do you think it was always framed as just a region almost on par with Archades for story purposes only wth no intent in further in-game exploration.
I don't know if there's more information on that out there but I wish we at least had concept art to get an idea how that region could have looked...I would have taken cutscene only location if we couldn't even explore it instead of this giant blank we have now lol
Finally starting the game, are there any proper jobs for each character (min maxing wise) or can I freely choose which job to get for each party member?
i remember in the og it dropped from Omegamk12 very late in the game or u could steal it
in the remaster it appears in lategame again as well.
But why, like is there something im missing, besides that its a starter weapon and weak

The Ng- one job judge fight. No dark energy or espers. This ain’t your grandpa’s Bergen that stops to cast elemental magic like he does in izjs, either. Tza Bergen is all about the business.
I've reached Raithwall's Tomb for the first time. I'm trying to steal the Quality Stone from the first Demon Wall (where there's an initial cutscene of it activating).
I've looked up the drop table and Quality Stone has an initial 3% chance to steal without Thief's Cuffs...
But why is it taking so many tries for me? I've gotten other 3% item steal/drop chances before within an hour or two of soft-resetting. But I've been at this first Demon Wall for 2 days combined of playtime (on and off) and it won't let me steal a Quality Stone off of it...
I've only stole Gold Needles and Solid Stones (on different runs) but not Quality Stone which I need. Does the first Demon Wall even have Quality Stones to steal or is it a unique scripted enemy with a different drop table?
Hello everyone! A discussion about the spell queue in the original release inspired me to make a single-job run where I use no magicks at all (I can still use Motes and SoB since it's a technick, obviously; I also finally get to use Infuse for its intended purpose instead of combo cheese!).
Anyways, I like to play with the usual "two equally leveled teams, no repeat jobs", so after thinking about it I came with this composition:
---------
***I don't want to use Bushi because I feel it would go against the spirit of the challenge - Just with a little Mote farming you're still functionally using a fully fledged mage, so by that point why bother? at least with no Mystic Armor you're less likely to rely on them unless it's for certain enemies.
So, I wanted to ask any seasoned players out here if there are any hints or tips I should be aware of during this run. For more specific questions:
Thanks in advance!
Hey.
I'm having trouble making Tournesol appear in bazzar, as I've already sold extra materials (Serpentarius, Empyrean Soul etc)
Any chance it's bugged?
Also, I heard they all must be sold in one go, but I'm like sell serpentarius, if not appear go farm soul. Is this the reason?
I didn't buy anything else from bazzar atm
Thanks
Am I losing my mind or do all the different characters not only have unique running animations but also feel different in how they control when sprinting? Please let me know.
The Wiki was unclear on this as it talked about all versions of the games. Perhaps my reading of it is mistaken so I decided to come here.
I completed the Sphere Grid for every Character in FF X. It was a lot of grinding and a lot of work.
From what I gather for XII on the PS2 the original version of the game I need roughly 20,000 LP to complete the board entirely.
So my question is if I am playing the original are any licenses locked by getting all three quickenings? As it states for the Zodiac versions some get locked like the Shikari job's Ninja Blade.
I am unsure if anything gets locked in the original version and am hoping someone here can give me a clear answer. I got a fair way into XII last time I played before some life issues got in the way so I have restarted the game as I forgot where I was and what I was doing.
Okay so I'm in Archades which took me awhile to get there. And I was supposed to meet Cid and I'm confused about this blue/red door thing and I'm on the 68th floor and just opened the red door and I trying to get to the 70th floor. But what is bothering me is why are the imperials hard to beat now? One hit from them and half my health goes down. I used protect in all my characters to keep from dying a lot. Right now all my characters are all level 30. Someone help here cuz I'm stuck fighting them and keep reviving each characters after they lose. I'm about to run out of PD pretty soon.
I am currently rewatching FF12 through a YouTuber, and I heard Vaan mention his parents were already killed before the War during the Plague.
Found a bit more info that Reks was 14 and Vaan was 12 at the time.
But I can't recall if FF12 (or its sequel) ever expanded on the Plague. (Idk if there is anything to expand on.)
This is my favorite Final Fantasy by far, from the mechanics and gameplay, to the storyline, to the music, this ticks all of my boxes! Starting Thursday, and every other day afterwards, I will be livestreaming this gameplay on my Kick & Twitch channel!
I tried Weak Mode, it was somewhat easy to complete story-wise. The harder side areas and elite hunts became more tedious than fun and challenging. I didn't like how Magic, MP, status effects (scaled by level), and the majority of technicks were borderline unusable without significant resource management and consumables. Not to mention forced job pairings to stand a chance at end-game. (looking at you Bushi/Knight Excalibur+White Robes)
Recently, I discovered a mod called "The Struggle for Freedom" which is a huge overhaul(to say the least) to the game's core mechanics as well as adding, changing, and removing Magick, Items, and Weapons. Also heard about the 2x hp and on average 1.3x stat increase to all enemies in the game. I also saw a "Proud Mode" version of the mod that added even more things to the game, being harder than it's predecessor(but fair), and the rebalanced job boards. I decided to dust off the ol' reliable and do a run through this mode.
As a seasoned player of the game, I relish the challenge. After reading through the notes and some posts of others. Is there anything I should know about before starting this or what to expect? And I would also like some feedback regarding my job pairings and if some changes could be made while still keeping my desired thematic of play. For progression sake I want to use all characters. My party until endgame will be Vaan/Fran/Penelo and Basch/Balthier/Ashe.
Using the Rebalanced Job Board. Skimmed through the notepad files for these combinations I made.
Vaan: Uhlaan/Machinist - Spear user, huge fan of spears in any game, so of course the MC has to rock it. Self-Decoy with 100% uptime. Item support.
Fran: Bushi/Time Mage - Katana user, because Bunny chicks with Katanas are HOT lol! She will be my offensive and magic support with buffs/debuffs and rocking my favorite gambit "Foe: HP<20% = Balance"
Penelo: Black Mage/Red Mage - Staff & Shield user, she will be my magic nuke, with healing when needed. She will have the ability to answer any threat with magical prowess while still saving allies from a tight pinch if the moment calls for it.
Basch: Knight/Archer - Sword and Shield, then Greatsword User, I only wish Greatswords could be acquired earlier than Archades.(Treaty-Blade is meh) Basically the Tank, with Self-Decoy on 100% uptime.
Balthier: Foebreaker/Monk - Knuckle user, very interested on trying out this new weapon! My DPS character, also interested in the new Blitz Technick!
Ashe: White Mage/Shikari - Rod and Shield User, Token Healer and Defensive Buff support. 3x swiftness from Shikari for fast healing and buff uptime.
Hazard pay must be crazy
Does the PC version have any fixes or improvements over the PS2 version?
Just started playing. Always heard the game was good. It seem pretty detailed so far. Any advice would be welcomed.

If anyone has a video of anyone doing 122333 ng- omega with either one job or two, without reverse and anything else, please post it.
I have the original version for the ps2, but I see a lot of ps4 clips and pictures in this subreddit, so I got curious- how many of you play ffxii on the ps2?
