Official White House Executive Order: No More Unrealistic Female Fight Scenes in Movies

Well… Hollywood’s gonna lose its mind over this one. Trump just signed an executive order banning those ridiculous fight scenes where a 110 pound woman effortlessly beats up a group of trained male mercenaries. Apparently, he’s had enough of the nonsense.

Executive Order on the Depiction of Combat Realism in Film and Television

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Purpose. For too long, American audiences have been subjected to misleading and wholly unrealistic portrayals of physical combat in film and television. A particular concern is the ongoing depiction of scenarios in which untrained or physically smaller individuals—predominantly female characters—overpower trained male combatants in hand-to-hand engagements. Such portrayals distort reality, mislead audiences, and contribute to a widespread cultural misrepresentation of physical capability and combat dynamics.

In the interest of promoting realism, accuracy, and proper respect for combat disciplines, this order establishes new guidelines for the depiction of physical confrontations in entertainment media produced within the jurisdiction of the United States.

Section 2. Prohibited Depictions. (a) No federally regulated entertainment entity shall produce, distribute, or exhibit media content in which a female character, lacking demonstrable physical advantage (such as significant weight, height, or specialized training exceeding that of her opponent), successfully defeats a larger, more experienced male adversary in direct physical combat. (b) This restriction applies specifically to hand-to-hand combat and does not extend to depictions involving firearms, tactical weaponry, or scenarios where external factors (e.g., environmental advantages, ambush tactics, or improvised weaponry) reasonably justify the outcome. (c) Exceptions may be granted in cases where the production demonstrates a compelling historical or scientific basis for such an occurrence.

Section 3. Enforcement. (a) The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Motion Picture Association (MPA) shall be tasked with reviewing applicable media for compliance. (b) Any violations of this order will result in immediate suspension of federal tax incentives for the production company in question, as well as potential fines to be determined by the Department of Justice.

Section 4. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect existing contractual obligations lawfully entered into prior to the date of this order. (b) This order shall take effect immediately and shall apply to all future productions released on or after the date of this signing.

Come and see .

Have y’all seen the movie come and see from Russia made in the mid 80s ?.

You can watch it free on YouTube.

Probably the greatest antiwar movie I have ever seen in my life. To the directing, the acting from the young actors, to everything that movie is absolutely amazing, but at the same time so hard to watch. I’m still mind fucked and I saw it last night. Times are tough right now especially as an immigrant with a work visa but fuck am I glad to be born in this time.

The Sandcastle

Just watched The Sandcastle .... How children escape the trauma of conflict, how they use their imagination to be in a place which feels safer .... Though when you watch it it doesn't always work. Heartbreaking.

I recommend this film.

Children always suffer at the hands of those at the top of the "pile" .... All for the love of power and money.

Watch with caution ... May trigger

can't think of film title

Can’t think of this films title and it’s doing my head in, it’s a zombie film set in the UK(I think) the sister is a recovering addict but she keeps taking ecstasy through the film, a guy helps them and takes them to his wee hideout in the woods but turns out he’s a baddy aswell. I know this is a shite description but it’s all I can remember😂 a need to know so a can live happily

21st century best picture GOAT?

Has this subreddit done something like rank/vote/discuss best movies of <insert time period>? https://www.reddit.com/r/goatgoats/comments/1i6w7l8/movies_goat_21st_century_best_picture_winner/

I feel like this is a super fun way to look back on movies (adding a constraint like this and discussing). It also makes me want to go back and watch them all!

Anyways, I feel like this subreddit might appreciate this type of discussion and/or might want to run a similar type weekly thread!

Can someone help me with this film?!

So I've had this movie on my head for a while. I think I wastched it 10-15 years ago, pretty certain it's a 2000s film - I'd say horror/physiological thriller. It's about a daughter who is possessed or something, her mum is growing suspicious of her amd sensing something isn't right. The dad if I remember rightly is more skeptical. They're staying somewhere near cliffs, by the sea (thinking the Scottish Highlands or somewhere similar). I'm also sure there's an important scene in their bathroom??

Do you know the name of that film?

Hello. I'm trying to find the name of a film where a boy suffers from eunuresia. Every day after school that boy runs home to take off the window the wet sheets put there by her mother in order to humiliate him. He does so to avoid the other boys from his school to learn about his condition. I think i remember this turns him later into a champion runner. Maybe with Dustin Hoffman but i am not sure. Thanks

Why does Jesse Eisenberg always play the nervous side character?

Does anyone notice in almost every film Jesse eisenberg has made.... he usually plays the same character in most of his films? I dont dislike this type of role but i think it would be cool if they changed his roles to not always be the nerd, or nervous & shy main character in every film now.

I assume presumably its because he looks the part, both his physical stature and his persona sell a kind of nerdy, highly kinetic, intelligent but probably socially clueless sort of character. You'd have a really hard time buying him as a bully or a Navy SEAL, or as a computer science major or a supervillain, but he slides right into these roles as the quiet, stoic, or shy guy. For a lot of actors, gravitating towards characters that they can naturally sell is very normal.

I don't know what he is like in his every day life but assume he struggles with certain interactions & hollywood used that to create these type of characters in films he has made.

There seems to be a cliche that smart men are slim, weak looking ones, or ones that are not that appealing. Times where actors don't spend hours toiling with hobbies, or sports, dating or hanging out with friends, instead that time is spent studying which makes them smart or chosen the role for a decent script.

Sure he looks the part and can certainly act the part I enjoyed his older films adventureland or others. I’ve never called his acting perfect, but they are ideal for these kinds of roles into question because that’s exactly the kind of behavior and speaking style I see among myself in the shoes he plays or steps into.., or characters he creates, and my highly intelligent friends. The head and body movements are spot on when he plays these roles. ie (the high school nerd who never got to be fulfilled or the burned out lonely guy who is nerdy)

He is essentially a poster boy for social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, hypochondria nervosa. I suppose he knows his own strengths/limits, or merits as an actor given his many performances.

Eisenberg brings an awkward genius quality, a restless physicality, edgy nervousness, deer in the headlights paralysis to his characters. I do love the films he has been in but would be cool if he brought more to the table besides awkward guy every time.

But it seems he Almost alwaaaaaaaays he plays the awkward nerdy guy, in everything from Rio, to zombieland, or social network feel like he's typecast in every film hes been in. I would like to see him branch out a bit and play a different role in a new film if he ever gets cast or additions for a different kind of role or even if it's a more dramatic film or part.

Even as lex luthor which people disliked... he just felt like a crazy guy and didnt add anything to that film. What are your thoughts on this? (His geeky, nerdy teenager with a good heart roles are fun to watch) he may have to give way to a more mature Jesse or challenge his skills more. I hope he can transform his career into something resembling the multi-faceted career of Steve Buscemi or Bill Macy. Neither man is particularly “good looking,” but each has had a long career as a character actor, and I think that is where Jesse Eisenberg is going to have to end up, now that youth has fled, unless he wants to start directing or doing something behind-the-scenes (writing, producing) that I am unaware of if he ever decides to add more insight to newer films he creates.

Commando

I have seen this film so many times but noticed one thing this time around. When he is arrested at the gun shop he has just got the silver desert eagle, and a bunch of other guns, the cops take all those off him, and when he is rescued he dosnt take any of the guns with him, meaning he should only have the guns the girl put in the car earlier.

But he uses that desert eagle in the attack on the island.
