Question about scaring a fawn.

I have 4 acres in upstate ny. It was very overgrown due to a broken mower. I mowed today and in the course of 3 hours scared 3 fawn who darted into the woods. Later that evening I saw the mother looking for them. I feel awful. Will she find her babies again?

Do I leave it alone?

I found a fawn walking on the highway. It’s ears are curled but I know that isn’t a good indicator. But the skin on it’s shoulderblades go down really slow, it’s nose is extremely dry and cracked as well as its mouth, it has a lot of mucus and it’s eye is swelling. So I’m assuming it hasn’t nursed in a while. When it breathes it wheezes. All of the rehabbers are closed for the evening so I would hate to leave it and wait for the mom and for it to get crushed and see it dead the next day so I’m lost.

Question about Human handling of Fawns

Hello /fawns idk if this is the right subreddit so ill keep it short.

I head that the myth that if you Human touch a fawn its mother will abandon it.
I found some sources that claimes that as a mith like:

http://wp.auburn.edu/deerlab/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/62Ext2011-Fawns.pdf
https://www.deerassociation.com/magic-myths-fawns/

but nothing really scientific. Can anyone provide some more scientific resources for that claim?
