I have very dry hair although I’ve never colored and bleached it and the curly hair specialist recommended that I buy olaplex 0 and 9 as these are the ones available for non-professionals. I think no. 0 is correct as an alternative for no. 2 but I’m having doubts with the alternative for no.1. Is no. 9 correct? I’m also seeing also no. 3 as an option. Also how do I apply both products?
I've been using Wella Color Tango in 6RRV Cabernet for a while now, but it has been discontinued. Would it be better to use a 1:1 mix of 6R and 6RV or mix of 6RR and 050/cooling violet additive?
i am a 22 y/o woman w/ black hair. today, while i was doing my hair, i saw what looked like a shiny tinsel hair decoration strand. however, i then realized it was completely grey hair. this was extremely upsetting to me, and i ripped it out.
i then searched through all my hair and didn't find any more (thank god), but i'm still really freaking out. there's absolutely no reason i should have ANY grey hair at my age. my hair is naturally black too, so even just one grey strand would be very noticeable.
i know how stress can cause grey hair, and i have absurd levels of stress (diagnosed w/anxiety & ocd). only i've had these issues basically my entire life. if my stress is whats behind this, why's it all the sudden happening just now and not ages ago??
is this cause for concern and is there anything i should do about this? like vitamins/supplements, diet, lifestyle changes, etc? or do i most likely have nothing to worry about? i'm sure this may be incredibly dramatic since it was literally only one singular strand of grey, but i still feel extremely upset & stressed out. i'd be DEVASTATED if i start developing more of them before i even turn 25. i'll do absolutely anything i can possibly do to stop this from becoming a bigger issue.
PLEASE, if anyone knows anything concerning the prevention of grey hair, or what could've caused this, please let me know. i'd appreciate quite literally any information that might help me, so so SO very much. and thank you to anyone who read all of this <3
Just wanted to share in case anyone else was looking to get this color! I bleached my hair to a level between 8 and 9 and then used 1 bottle of Wella 7a with 2 cap fulls of 050 that I have saved from awhile ago. Tbh idk if the 050 even worked as it’s been opened and had oxidized for maybe a whole month. I also used some leftover 20 vol developer instead of 10 to mix. Hope this helps!!
I told the sallys worker I wanted to have a slightly darker brown on my already warm brown hair and she recommended me 3N permanent hair dye, I didnt even know it was permanent and now my hair is fully jet black, how can i like remove the dye to make it closer to my natural hair colour, would a colour remover fade it to more brown or would it like make my hair like light red or something. Someone help I literally hate this dark jet black hair I just want it to fade a little bit back to my natural hair colour.
Does anyone know where to get pink silicone micro-link extension beads? I’ve seen them used in a YouTube video, so I know they exist. However, I have scoured the internet in search of pink ones and can only ever find red. Dying/coloring blonde ones doesn’t work bc silicone doesn’t absorb color easily. I’ve been to ten different hair supply stores looking for them and to no avail!,
Yes the photo doesn’t show any “green colour” but this is me sitting in front of my lamp which has a soft yellow color. But when I was in the kitchen where the light is really bright, my friend told me it kind of looks green. I’m freaking out because I don’t want it to turn green 🥹 At the salon today under natural light it looked good to me. But I’m worried it will turn green. She added chocolate brown lowlights and a beige toner (which I wish she didn’t). Can I please have some advice what to do, what products to use to keep my blonde bits very blonde but my lowlights brown and not green! I can’t use a red or pink hair mask, because it will turn my blonde red. Basically need something to keep my highlights blonde and my low lights from not turning green. Thank you! (P.S im freaking out)
Looking for advice on getting hair extensions or a wig. My hair is fine to begin with but since starting chemotherapy it's been much more noticeable. I was going to get extensions but have heard that they destroy your hair more? Also looked at some wigs online but don't know which brand/type is the best. ANY recommendations are greatly appreciated.
I’m currently at a level 1 (I’ve talked about this situation on here before lmao) and need to get to a level 4 or 5, so i was just going to bleach it.
BUT the woman working at cosmo prof highly recommended i use this product instead, said it would be way more gentle, you can even mix it with water instead of developer???
I’ve never even seen/heard of this product before, so I’m just wondering if any of you have and what your experience with it was like??
Pulp Riot has been my go to and absolute best product line ever (their semis, colour remover, developers, lightener all amazing), I was devastated to learn that they’ve discontinued in the UK
I’ve seen Danger Jones being mentioned as a Pulp Riot alternative but I’m not sure how it compares; has anyone tried both of these brands, if so how similar / different are they?
The things I’ve loved about Pulp Riot:
Colour fades true to tone (I was finally able to dye my hair blue and not have it fade green, instead it faded back to light blonde)
How gentle all of their products are (their lightener especially)
The large choice of colours (I particularly love mixing Mercury to create metallic colours)
That their semis aren’t easily overworked
The colours don’t bleed (extremely pigmented colours like Nightfall do bleed a bit, but not much)
The semis form a light shell in a couple minutes meaning I can layer colours (I love using the bubble technique) without worrying about then mixing and turning into a mess
Hey! It's been a while since I've done my own hair, but I used to dye it at home and have been every colour under the rainbow at some point! For the past 3 years I've been having it done professionally at a local salon by a stylist I love. They use davines colour, she touches up my roots with permanent and refreshes the rest with a demi, I usually go 3 times a year or so. She's wonderful and I get exactly the hair I'm after, however it's pretty expensive, and I know colour services are expensive across the board so it's no criticism of the specific salon, I get it! It's a splurge for me but I've considered it worth it.
I'm trying to tighten up my budget and could be saving a substantial amount if I stop going to the salon. I love having copper hair and I know it's high maintenance. Does anyone have recommendations for a natural looking medium/light copper dye I could use at home? I know the exact shades she uses as she made a post about the formula on social media, but I don't think I am able to purchase dye from the same brand as they sell the dyes to professionals only and I haven't been able to find an alternate source. I'm also in Canada, so looking for something available here!
My natural hair is a light warm blonde (a 7 or 8), and I prefer a demi or semi permanent to limit damage, but know I may have to use a permanent on regrowth to get it to stick?
I'm a bit anxious about returning to self-colouring my hair, but I'm really trying to commit to reducing the luxuries in my life so I can save up some money and this is a big one!
Any tips, product recommendations, etc will be happily received (: Thanks!
I'm trying to fix my highlights I got done at a new salon. Stylist tried use light ash blonde toner and some highlighted parts didn't lift enough. Should I add bleach to the orange areas for about 5 minutes then redone? I am usually more of a honey blonde but sallys only had golden blonde. Any help is greatly appreciated 😭!
I'm currently using a mix of Lime Crime Jello with a bit of leftover Lunar Tides Juniper Green and Punky Bright Yellow to do my green hair but a friend got me a virtual gift card for GDY and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to try the actual color again or just use it for the haircare or Dyeposit in green. If I do buy any it would be the Kowabunga shade as it's described as a warm green and swatch pictures make it look like what I currently have and want to maintain.
When I last used the brand I tried Toxicity back in like 2022. It was a disappointment, Toxicity was not a bright copper like described and more of a muted, washed out ginger and was super thick and hard to apply without using the whole tube on my pixie cut. I contacted them and they sent me 2 new tubes and they both had similarly lackluster performance. I believe the consensus around that time was that the colors in general had varying levels of quality.
Has the dye gotten more consistent and true to site depiction in recent years or am I better off sticking with my current color cocktail?
I’m basically 80% grey, dye hair every few weeks and was toying with the idea of not dying a streak in the front to create a mallean streak. Has anyone done this? If so, how?
Back in November, I thought it would be fun to dye my hair pink using semi-permanent pink hair dye that I bought from Boots. I originally had brunette hair with blond highlights/ balayage, and for the most part, the pink sort of washed out but has refused to wash out from my brown roots. It has been a few months, and it still won't wash out and now that my hair is growing out, I have a horizontal strip (plus a few random strands) of brown hair with a pink-reddish undertone, which looks completely out of place with the rest of my hair.
I would love any suggestions on the best way to sort this problem out, I would like to try avoid going to a hair salon if possible as they can be very expensive. I have looked into using colour-correcting shampoos, but not sure if this would work on my hair as I have a balayage/ highlights.
Thank you in advance!!
Hello! I was recently at a beauty supply store and this hair dye was on sale, and I wanted to give it a go! I'm looking for this shade and was wondering how to go about it.
How light should I bleach? My hair is brown but has some red undertones whenever I dye it, should I tone before dyeing to make it more of a rose and less of an orange? Would using a red/gold corrector with the hair dye mitigate any coppery tones?
My current hair color level is a 3-3.5, however the dye is fresh and will fade to a 4-5, as it tends to do. I plan on waiting for my hair to fade to a lighter shade to avoid as much bleach damage.
Thanks!
