Christmas present: which hair straightener for my girlfriend?

TLDR: best hair straightener for dirty blonde hair? Budget: $200 USD

    Location: Toronto, Ontario.

Context: My GF has been using her hair straightener for more than a decade and it’s replacing time.

I would like to gift her a straightener (Not a curler) for Christmas.

What is your best option? What works/worked best for you?

Limitations: I could purchase from US and Canada. Europe is also an option if convincing product is available.

Thank you very much for your attention to this matter!

    Advice Needed !!!

I have always gotten my hair done professionally. I am naturally a dark brown and got light brown highlights in my hair, but very faint many times, and I never had it washed out; literally, the first time I washed my hair after getting it done (1 week later), my tub turned brown, and the color kept coming out. This has never happened before, I paid nearly $250 and with tip $320... I stayed that day at that salon for 4 hours.. for a partial balayage.. I messaged her and she told me to come back and that she would do a "stronger toner" on me, not sure what this means, but do yall think she would charge me for this lol. also is this going to damage my hair.. i only get my hair done 2 times a year and some toners in between but so disappointed because I really loved it.

    Advice

Looking for advice, I know I messed up. 😭 so I’m a natural level 7 blonde. I was platinum for about 5 years and my hair stylists always told me my hair was surprisingly healthy. This is the part where I messed up 😭 a few months ago I dyed it black with box dye. First I dyed it a red-based color to fill the hair, and then I dyed it black. I’ve been coloring my roots ever since, since my roots grow in blonde. I don’t want to keep doing this, and I would like to go back to blonde. I know, I know. I feel very stupid!! The problem is when I let my roots grow out I look bald and I also know it takes a really really long time to completely grow out your roots. I’ve thought about using ColorOops, or vitamin c powder, or baking soda, or anything that’ll work without making my hair completely fall out. I recognize there may no way to rectify this and I may need to just let the it grow out, but obviously I’d rather not do that. Does anyone know what the best thing to do here is?

I grabbed the wrong box … help?

I purchased a tube of ion’s “inspired by nature” ammonia free permanent dye in a 5G (light golden brown) and a tube of their 4ir (medium cherry red) as well. I was kinda hoping for a final result somewhere between a mahogany/cowboy copper/ chocolate brown color.

However— when I got home I realized that I had accidentally picked up a 4G (medium honey brown) instead of the 5G. I’m concerned a level 4 might be too dark and result in an almost black shade vs the richer brunette shade in going for.

My question is if I were to use a 30vol developer vs a 10, could that lift the level of the dye I’m using? Would a 4G + 4ir in theory get me in the wheelhouse of color in looking for? Or do I just need to wait for the weather to clear up and head back to Sally’s? Help?

How much root should you actually leave out when bleaching mids/ends first?

I can't find a straight answer for this. I know you do the roots last, but what is the rule of thumb for how much to leave out?

    Least stain-y red and green?

Hey all, bit of an 'opposite day' request. I have a big white stripe which I'm wanting to dye red&green for the holidays. I've used crazy colour and directions in the past but I find both are tricky to completely remove. As with all white hair it's super porus and I would like to avoid having to put bleach or strippers on it. Does anyone have any suggestions of the weakest reds and greens which will look good for 1-2 washes?

    Bleaching hair at home?

I have bleached my hair platinum blonde (from being dark brown/black) twice before at a professional salon, and I really loved the way it looked. I want to bleach my hair again, however going to the salon is quite expensive. I am thinking about doing it at home, along with my girlfriend’s help.

How difficult is it to yourself at home? What is the worst that can happen? Any tips and tricks to help with the process?

    What's your favorite cream bleach?

I'm looking for a cruelty free cream bleach. My scalp is becoming more sensitive as I get older. I used to use a high lift, but that was a little rough on my scalp with the double 20 developer.
I have level 5 or 6 hair and I want to lift it to an 8 or 9. What would you recommend?

First time bleaching whole head! Give me support~

Doing it in a salon of course. I want Caitlyn’s hair from Arcane so bad, I’m pulling the trigger. I’m afraid of having blonde hair after the color fades, but I can always dye it black or brown after.

I’m scared since its my first time!

hair looks split/bent on ends and really dry and little pieces come off if i pull on it

for some history, i bleached my hair twice this year (one was a bleach bath) and i do heat style my hair pretty often. however i do get regular haircuts and i’ve taken a break from bleaching it so i’m wondering why it looks like this. it feels like it got shorter because of it but maybe i’m just overthinking it. i really don’t know what to do, and i don’t want to cut it even shorter bc my layers are already cut to my jaw. but maybe i have to. what should i do to stop this??

    Help with my graying hair!!

Help! I have a hair appointment on Sunday. I’ve been dying my roots for years with box dye and professional appointments, but the grey is really speeding up. I am hoping to add lighter highlights/babylights/balayage so the re growth isn’t as harsh.

What would you recommend for color and to disguise the grey regrowth? I have pinkish undertones and light eyes and I think I look better with cooler/ashy tones in my hair.

How dry will a bleach bath make my hair?

I have a bleach bath scheduled with a stylist to lighten up my permanent salon black dye. We are only planning to lighten it to a dark brown. My hair is healthy (never been bleached) and on the finer side.

I have very soft hair - will the bleach bath change the texture of my hair? I’m a bit worried how my hair will feel after.

Can a salon fix a aftergrowt like this without fully bleaching it?

Not my photo. My hair is bleached platinum blonde, with an aftergrowth as pictured. Same darkness and about the same amount, an inch ish. I want to get it fixed but would like to blend in my natural color instead of being fully blonde. Is this achieveable? Like put some highlights in? What else could the salon do? The idea is to avoid having such harsh roots and maybe lengthening the time between each salon visit without looking ridicolous.

Fading out temporary hair dye fast

Sooo I have a trip coming up and I want to dye my hair because I have some horrible roots. Last year I used a coulour mask from maria nila to dye my blonde hair dark cooper and I liked it a lot. I think it lasted around 4 weeks until i was fully blonde again. I want to do it again but I have my birthday in 2 weeks and I want it to be fully washed out until then. Do you have any recommendations how it will wash out faster? Last time I used head and shoulders and sometimes vitamine c powder.

Is this thinning or normal? (I just dyed my hair a week ago I'm naturally dirty blonde). If it's thinning, what can I use to treat it? I can't use minoxidil cuz of pets.

    Cheapest but best hair dye?

I've been using black box dye on my hair for almost 2 years, and I know that it's very damaging but I just don't have enough money to go to a salon every month to touch up my roots, so does anyone have a good alternative to the box kind? Are manic panic/arctic fox ACTUALLY healthier or do people just say that? Thanks!

    Full refresh time

I get my roots bleached every 6 months and take the opportunity to do a color switch up. This time I asked for Maleficent vibes and she delivered
