So I'm getting my hair cut and bleached(I don't trust myself with bleach yet) tomorrow, but dying it at home cause it's cheaper. I put a picture of my hair cause idk how to describe it(sorry about the crappy quality). Should I use a toner?
I used a box of Garnier ash blonde, but it’s come out brassier than intended. I’ve used blue shampoo and a blue masque.
Can I go back in with a more intense lift product like schwarzkopf got2 bleach to achieve more of a platinum or ultra light blonde?
I am in my mid to late 30s and probally about a year ago, but more recently I have started noticing that when I get my foiled I am always left so disappointed because I have still have areas throwing off so much gold. When I try and tone it it ends up just picking up the lighter bits and making the gold more noticeable. I thought it was hair dresser so I have tried going to do different ones every time now but basically still the same ( some worse then others) is it Age, Hormones or just the hairdresser? lol
I have naturally brassy/dirty blonde hair and I normally get a very deep dark, blue/cool toned brown when I get my hair done every 6-7 weeks. I’m trying to budget and get my color lasting a bit longer but I just tried IGK’s color mask in the chocolate brown and it doesn’t get the brass out of my roots. I’m kinda tempted to try the “pitch black/smoky gray” or the “moondance/midnight blue”.
When my hairdresser does my hair, the following few washes leave blue-ish color on my towels.
Any other recs?
Hey everyone! I recently went on a trip to Japan and bought a bottle of this hair dye - KAO Liese in sweet pea greige - and fell in love with it. However, for some reason, I can't find this specific color available anywhere in the US (it's on amazon in other countries and on a few overseas ebay accounts, but that's a pain to keep buying). Does anyone have any similar colors they can recommend that are easier to find in the US?
When you pay for your extensions in full the day of service, do you only tip on the service and not the price of the hair?
My girlfriend dyed her hair a very dark coppery red. She would like to dye it again to lighten it a bit to a lighter red. Would it be possible to just choose a dye that's a few shades lighter and dye her hair again or is there something we should do differently? She'd like to avoid using a color remover if possible. Thanks.
Hey y’all! I have blonde hair and I plan on color blocking my bangs a deep red or black root to ombré red, similar to this photo but just my bangs.
I’m new to dark vivids. Since I’m just doing my bangs and the rest of my hair is blonde, I’m worried about bleeding. Any good recs for colors that don’t bleed terribly? Any application tips?
I’ve used arctic fox in the past but I used a lighter neon color so I wasn’t as worried about bleeding. Since I’m considering darker colors I’m a little more worried about it. I’m looking for semi-permanent if possible. Thanks!
Hi folks, I have a question about bleaching my hair given that I have a couple fairly new ear cartilage piercings currently healing. (1 week old approx.)- my rook, forward helix, daith, and flat. I have dyed black hair and I would like to bleach it just enough to cover the results with a luscious dark red color.
However, I am worried about damaging or hurting my healing piercings and have considered several methods of keeping them safe, from putting plastic bags around my ears tied with rubber bands, Vaseline everywhere on my ears, fitting a glove over each ear, and so on. What are your thoughts about this situation?
I bleach and maintain my own skunk stripes. Being a dude with relatively shorter hair I would bleach my roots (and add grey dye afterwards). No matter how precise I am, it is inevitable that some bleach would bleed into some strands of hair, so I would then dye those strands black. Afterwords, I would condition my scalp. All of this is done in one session that lasts 5-6’ish hours.
However by the end of the session I would always feel dizzy/lightheaded with a headache. Sometimes anxiety would kick in. I am not allergic to PPD and the dye I use contains none. However I need to mention that as of today, the dye was oxidized as the container was opened (but closed with the cap; I do not use all of the bottle at once). Could this contribute to feeling unwell?
EDIT: Grammar. I typed this while I was feeling woozy.
Top pic is before, left is midway through, right is the final.
Colors: AF electric paradise mixed with pink af and iro iro plum, AF phantom green, poseidon, girls night, and aquamarine all randomly mixed.
Hi everyone. I'm in my 30s and new to hair dye. In mid-August I dyed my entire head using Argan Oil permanent hair dye from Sally's using 20 volume developer. The all-over color has faded with washing (I am using color stay shampoo/conditioner) and my roots are now showing.
I thought I'd simply re-dye my entire head using the same items, but I'm reading a bunch of conflicting info online about whether or not that's the right course.
Can someone please set me straight? Thank you!!
only my bangs are itchy out of my wntire head and when i shed theres almost always this white stuff on it. what stage of my hair is this ? (resting phase, growing phase, etc?) am i pulling it out or is this natural shedding..and how do i shed less. i take biotin suppliments for my hair daily but i am quite dehydrated
I’ve been reading online about using manic panic + conditioner, or just another semi permanent dye in general. Would you guys have any recommendations?
I currently use the amika brass off conditioning mask 1x a week and leave it on for 20 mins but I still feel like my hair isn’t that icy like it used to be. I had my hair professionally toned 2 months ago and I said ash blonde but I felt my hairdresser chose a toner a bit too dark and I feel like it never really went away. Any advice will help thank you
So I’ve recently learned that there are bristles made of animal hair and have been trying to figure out whether all the brushes i use are made of boar bristles or not. I tried burning under fire and it melted to a dot. Would that happen if it was made of natural hair?
