Hello everyone,
I'm looking for help to find information about my great-grandfather, Antonio Pio Neves (or any possible variation of the name "Antonio"). According to my family, he might have been Italian, and I’d like to locate any documents about him to explore the possibility of obtaining Italian citizenship.
Antonio Pio Neves is the father of Geraldo Roberto Neves, who married Vera Lúcia Ivan Neves. They are the parents of my mother, Haraete Dessire Neves, who had me, Samir Neves Pedroso, with Flávio Alves Pedroso.
If anyone has tips, resources, or can help locate records about Antonio Pio Neves, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance!
I know that all of them are not indexed yet, but I noticed a small collection of death registers in the Philippines Catholic Church records are indexed, yet I cannot search them up and I have to comb through the image group to find and attach them. Why is this? And if so, will familysearch fix it?
I signed up to Familysearch today to help build the paternal side of my family tree. When using the chat feature does it email or notify the other person to say you’ve sent them a message?
Sorry if this is a silly question!
Thanks in advance
This is one of the two main features I've been desiring for a while now, the other being moderation, especially for profiles before 1800. The Data Quality Score appears to be an attempt to improve accuracy by encouraging good sourcing and data consistencies: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/data-quality-rating
I can see some potential weak points in this however, as much of my research is done off of FamilySearch, then I leave notes with links below various vitals and other events to document them, which might not register with the algorithm. For instance, in Norway most of the visual records are on Digital Arkivet, so leaving a short explanation under a baptism with the link to the page (and where to find the info on the linked page) might not improve the Quality Score overall since there are no FS sources attached, but that's OK.
Really hope this encourages folks to up the quality of their research and documentation, and discourages newbies from doing bad merges and linking incorrect sources (like a same named person a continent away a century apart, we've all seen it).
I'm currently clipping and saving news articles for family members and up until today I've had no issues. Today I start getting this error and its highly frustrating. I'm copying the codes by clicking the direct code and its still randomly not working.
I've been specifically combing thru marriage records for the Saint Mary Magdalene Parish of Kawit Cavite, for records pertaining to my family with little success.
Does anyone know about this? This option used to be on the website and app but it seems to have been removed as it was a part of RootsTech. Anyone know if the feature will return and if so when that might be?
Hello everyone! I've been trying to do some genealogical research for my aunt's family tree, and I found several records that I can only view from a FamilySearch Center. Could anyone help me find the images for the records attached to this post? Thank you!
Hi guys, I'm trying to collect some documents of my family, I already found some but these two are only accessed in a family search center or library. I already tried to go in a center in my city but it is always closed and there no phone number. Someone who has easy access to this can help me?
I’ve been trying to find information about my great-grandfather, who was born in Chiriguana, Cesar, Colombia in the early 1900s. Baptism records from the main church in that town appear when I look for them, but every series of images says that there are zero images in the series. Does anyone know if and when these images are going to be released? I’ve included a photo in case my explanation was confusing.
i've been struggling with this person for a long time, he was born in damascus but i just can't seem to find anything related to him, i only have info i gathered from an old id from where he used to work at (around 1917) and that's it, i can't find anything online. i know his exact birth day, the location, the year he immigrated, the exact day he got married, the years his children were born, the year he died and such, but I can't seem to find anything not even going through the certificates on the app. I can't even figure out what his father's name was. Plus when he immigrated back then people wouldn't really care about spelling so they most probably got his name and his parent's names wrong, and I don't know arabic or whatever he used to speak so I can't just go online and look for it, any idea on how I can continue? I've been trying for months and by now it's just frustrating.
Hello everyone I already have a tree on here and I want to create another one but I do not know how to,
For those who don't know Day One Day One is a journal app for Apple and Android devices and it's the best app I ever owned and I was thinking if there's a way to add by Journal entries on my FamilySearch and keep them private.
I'm having trouble entering unmarried parents for an ancestor; the mother and father where never married and were never really in a formal relationship, so the spouse field seems inappropriate, but when I enter them separately as parents I have to switch between 'preferred' parents which prevents me from printing out that section of the tree completely.
I was just poking around some American Indian Census documents when I came across a few with multiple different Event Places that are very far away from each other.
Also, it seems like there were not Indigenous boarding schools in the places listed as "school". I'm just wondering what this means and why there are so many event places listed.
Is it not currently possible to search the UK's 1939 National Register collection via FamilySearch? FamilySearch Wiki suggests I should be able to search it from this collection page: https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2836130 but I don't see any search fields. There's some messaging that some results and databases may not be available outside FSL locations -- is that the issue? Are NO searches of this database even possible from FamilySearch? Is this a new restriction, as I do see links for some people to the register sources? Their messages could be clearer if that's the case (and the Wiki updated).
I am often unsure what to put and/or how to word it in the "Reason" field. I know to avoid "useless" reasons like "same person" or whatever, but am just not sure what I SHOULD put ?
Please reply with (LOTS of) examples of the wording you use for the reasons you put for all the different types of sources, vitals (name birth death), alternate names, events, facts, couple relationships, parent-child relationships, and etc.
I'll start with one example:
Burial location: when it's available, I will update the burial location to include the name of the cemetery in addition to the town/county/state of burial. For reason I've been putting "cemetery location: Find a Grave" (assuming that's the source of the info : )
EDIT: good tip from u/taco_cop I usually put Find A Grave memorial id #………. That way if the “hints” doesn’t pick up Find A Grave you have the id to look it up easily.
I'm don't understand this ..
So I just recently discovered this option and I'm assuming it shows you how you're related to this person. But I'm just not getting it for some reason. I'm new to this whole genealogy thing, so it's just a bit confusing to me. The left side is my dad's family and the right side is my mom's (supposedly), so I don't know how that shows anything. My Mom was adopted, so I don't know anyone from her side. I'm sure this is a lot simpler than I think it is, but I'm stumped.
Hello, guys. I've been doing research on my family history and hit a huge blockage recently with an Italian ancestor. I found out the city and the family but when sending someone to Italy to retrieve the birth document they told me they couldn't find it.
I'm sure it's there, maybe with a different name or different date. Family Search has it in its building, but only in MICROFILM in Salt Lake. I'm here looking for people who work on these kind of subject and could help me/assist me in retrieving this document (link here)

I apologize if this is against the rules or not the best place for it, but I am just trying all avenues I can.

Hello, would anyone be kind enough to help me and look up this marriage record? unfortunately where I live I cannot access the library. I would truly appreciate any form of help.
How can I print a family tree in familysearch and have all the generations appear? Thank you so much
Good afternoon! I wanted to know if there is any website or app/extension that allows downloading all the images from a catalog on FamilySearch. I have to do some searches in person, but some books have more than 2,000 pages, and sometimes I don't have much time to stay there looking through page by page...
Hi, I'm trying to learn more about the Sento Sé family but came across this protected document that seams to contains relevant informations about it.
I live in Brazil and as far as I know, there's no Family Search Center or any afiliated library nearby that I can visit to see this document.
Can anyone help me with that? Here's the link:

Thanks a lot!
My grandma and many of her family come from 2 states that used to be one. However, while my family was there, they were still one. Later, a few decades ago they got divided into North and South. I have some amcestors from back when the state was one, but some of them K dont know which city, so should I just say they were born in the country or should I put State Name yearX - present event though he might have been born in the othee part? The northern part retained the state's name, but the southern part had "South" added, being a new state
What should I do?
Is there a way to download the fan chart in a high resolution? I tried doing a print screen but to get it large enough for my aunt to read the rez is so low that the letters are dithering.
https://imgur.com/a/6AcIJWS I've seen this a few times, but can't seem to figure out how to get the husband in the husband slot and wife in the wife's position. Anyone have some insight here?
I am working on an indexing batch, and I can't discern the last name or town of birth on the declaration of intention. Any help would be appreciated!
