The game I'm running features a prominent character who died (or "died") who was a belter. Is there any information about what Belter funeral traditions are like?
If nothing exists, what do you believe belter traditions around death, funerals and mourning are like in your game?
My group played Alien RPG about 6 months ago, and really liked it. And, even though I have the "Building Better Worlds" supplement, I still believe it is more geared to one-shots / short campaigns. The talents and everything are not geared towards group success, but rather the individual staying alive.
Now, having played Fantasy Age with my son, I KNOW my group will like The Expanse, and I will be running it for them probably sometime in the new year. And I can see already that it has a different feel (loved the tv series, gonna have to pick up a book and try it). But...
It seems for adversaries, The Expanse mostly expects them to be humans (which is actually kinda refreshing). But, it would be nice to sprinkle in some Alien-esque monster from time to time. The core rulebook has a total of 2 such examples, one of which is really just another human with a zombie tag. Are there supplements that add more exotic monsters? Heck, maybe even in space since The Expanse has a nice robust space combat system? Or, have ppl homebrewed importing monsters from other systems? Thanks.
BTW - I'm literally writing this and then going to work.
Super basic, and hopefully I am blind or something, but the scavenger background gives the option of taking either the evaluation or maker talent. I do not see an evaluation talent.
Am I missing something, or is this an editing miss? And if so, what alternative would ppl suggest? Thanks!
Did anyone produce some expanse - tailored random tables for npc, places, scenarios ? Beyond the numerous generic scify things already existing, I mean.
Hi all. I'm new to the game and am trying to find a good editable character sheet to use for my group. I don't really care for the one on the Green Ronin site. I saw a youtube video and a guy had one that he said was made by someone called Odin in the community. Does anyone know where I can find that sheet or one like it?
Hi! I‘m new to the Expanse RPG, have been a GM for almost 30 years, mainly with Shadowrun (round time 3 seconds). While I don’t need to play overly simulationist, I wonder how to justify 15 seconds turns, if you can only move at a maximum of 36 m (Dex 2) and can only fire 1 round with most weapons. I was thinking about imagining that the character has the opportunity to shoot several rounds, while only rolling the dice once. Likewise in melee they would attack several times and the dice result would indicate the overall success. Or I cut down the length of a round to roughly 5 seconds, then the max moving speed is reasonable. Still then one could fire a whole clip from a semiautomatic gun. I probably go with both solutions. How do you handle it when describing a fight?
Can I add my Focus (Seeing) to damage rolls that use Perception? Couldn't find a ruling for this.
Eg. with Perception 2 and focus in "seeing" pistol dmg -> 2d6+2+2?
Hello,
I was guessing how belters react to ship acceleration ? Basically since they have less resistance to Gs, they should have less resistance to strong accelerations.
But in the other way, they endure them more often...
How do you manage it in your game ?
So, yeah, we have a table that wants to play Battletech, but in ASOIAF vibe of house, but I think we need using that rules variant for actually play, for reasons, my gm doesn't want to use Mechwarrior Destiny (it don't have Foundry module at first) or ATOW (for most on the table it's to crunch), so, can someone share experience on that? Maybe it has mech rules (but for that I think we are needed to transfer stuff from Destiny)? General advices and idea how transfer House Rules from Chronicles?
I want to make more NPCs but not sure I could find a generator for avatars in the Expanse setting
I’m new to GM btw
Green Ronin has added 4 new goals to The Expanse RPG: Transport Union Edition campaign on u/Backerkit**. Help unlock early access to the new AGE Insiders program of the Atomic Think Tank. Just share this link:** https://greenron.in/Theexpanse
I've run two sessions now and it doesn't seem like doubles happen often enough. Especially when there are talents that require the use of SP. I'm used to Genesys where Advantage can occur in almost every roll. Is there a way to force SP or alter dice values?
Apologies if this is a little bit off topic. My brother ran a homebrew adventure of a game that isn't technically the Expanse RPG, but seemed close enough that I thought people here might enjoy it. I think it's pretty entertaining and wanted to share it.
He, myself, and some friends developed this game set a hundred years into an optimistic future. Unlike Star Trek, it's meant to be grounded in its technology and politics, so the technology is somewhat like the Expanse, though perhaps a hundred years earlier. He was play testing a new adventure so I asked him to record it, and I thought people here might appreciate it.
The adventure is called "Truffle Scuffle", and eventually I'd like to submit it to the Expanse fan community catalog. The players are visiting friends who are celebrating a breakthrough in cultivating truffles in microgravity when they learn the hard way that not everyone is delighted when you disrupt a market.

Candid feedback welcome.
Also: does anyone have any good actual play podcast recommendations for the Expanse RPG or other similarly set games?
