I'm playing on Origins, and I finally made it to 50! Feels really great, but now I need some guidance.
I play a (good) Warlock. My goal is to raid and continue to improve as much as possible (max dps/survival)... but also to have fun doing quests and whatever else is engaging in the world.
I've done Saving Soles and An Eye for Power so far. I have nearly all masters and I plan to start working on my prismatic weapon questline as soon as possible. Those seem to be the obvious improvements to work on.
What other quests out there are going to help me improve? Is there any specific gear that really makes a difference (and where to get)?
Also, what other cool/fun/immersive things are there to do in Norrath? I don't really care for crafting, but maybe there are things to work towards while I wait for DoF to come out?
How do you spend your time on your lvl50?
Thanks!
I just started EQ2 and have been having a great time until now. Reached lvl 9 and I can't seem to solo anything or find any groups. I bought some armor off the broker but it hasn't helped. Any tips for an assassin? If anyone wants to group up or run quests, please let me know!
I purchased the Scars of Destruction Family and Friends Edition with the intention of gifting it to a friend. There are no instructions on how to do this. Help!
So i finally decided to waste my life on MMO. I heard that Everquest is a great game(i heard it when i was a small idiot) and heard that there a lot of unusual classes(the necromancer is my desire) so i choosed EQ2. After watching a lot of videos of EQ2 abour classes, world and quests i still did not get anything cause of my experience with MMO(lack of it).
So i lay here upon your judgement users of Reddit - i am worth of teaching about where to start or if there are servers/thing suitable for begginers or am i doomed to live happily and never touch MMO?
I'm a new player and I just came across "the crossroads" in the commonlands. I thought, well this must be a nice coincidence. Then I came across "the wailing caves".
At this point I'm wondering - did wow copy everquest 2 or was it the other way around?
The crossroads for instance I believe I saw in the maps of warcraft 3 Rexxar's campaing. So I guess everquest could've copied warcraft there. Just curious to know if anyone has more insight into this.
Varsoon server TLE has been promised the next three expansions of content to be unlocked at 3 month intervals instead of four.
Exp bonuses and major exp granting events pay from the 5th till the 18th.
The guild <Riders of the Storm> now hosts 4 raid teams of carrying times including an EU team should you want to raid.
Here's our discord link, we will help anyone so even if you don't join the guild we'd love to help you get started. Join and ask any questions!

Sorry in advance if I'm an idiot for not recognizing something here.
This is for a Fury.
A look at things is showing a lot of melee buffing but like, druids are casters, right? They don't seem to have combat arts but there's all this stuff about flurry and double attacks and it's just got me pretty confused on where I'm supposed to be positioned in a fight or if my damage is coming from spells or melee.
Hey I’m just a nostalgic young adult tryna get back into the game. I played when I was (6-12) years old) and am now about to turn 20 and miss the game terribly. Anyone fancy leveling and questing together?
Recently returning player . Playing capacity is limited so I’m purely enjoying solo content and it’s been great . I was clearing solo mobs/dungions and over land trash and named quite effectively . I could literally heard the trash up and burn it down with no effort . Well I changed a couple pieces of gear over night which stat was and level wise were clear upgrades . Then this morning try and do some quests and I’m struggling to do any damage to trash mobs . What gives ? I know I’m asking a lot of advice with no real stat information . But I was wondering if someone could maybe direct me to what stat and build I should be focusing on as an illusionist /caster
Thank you in advance
I am really looking to jump into EQ2. I am not sure what class or server. Here is what I am looking for:
A great support or Healer
A crafter, I love harvesting and making and supporting a guild or the server.
I really like crafting in games and supporting a team or group. Looking for Ideas!
Thanks new MMO Fam!!!
I can never seem to get my AA points spent correctly for my character. It always feels like I could be more powerful as I cannot do simple quests for my level. I'm level 116, and recently accidentally reset my AA points without saving them and since then my character hasn't been as strong. Could someone please help me. I'm a Brigand and I only ever play solo. So I need damage and health... I think.
What's the best way for me to spend my AA points? Or does somebody have a screenshot of how they spent their points I can copy.
I can't find anything online and I just want my character back how I had it!
Praying for a miracle 🙏
Hi!
I'm trying to wrap my brain around adorning and tinkering. I do the daily quest each day. Simple enough. If I want to skill up faster, I use the recipes I have and just grind them like any other crafting profession? Is there anything else I should be doing for the first, say, 70 levels of adventuring + tinkering and adorning?
How do I get tradeskill vitality? What are the common methods any subscribing player can do to accrue vitality over each hour/day/week?
The broker on Antonia Bayle is missing a lot of advanced books in the first ~50 levels of all the professions. The drop rate seems much too low for a 2-person adventuring group to find more than 1 or 2 books in 20 or 30 levels of adventuring. We are taking our time, absorbing all this amazing PvE story content. So it's nice to have upgraded gear and abilities. Alas, we're starved for recipes! Is there anything to be done about that?
Is it just me, or is Provisioning way more difficult than other trades? I can do a rush order in most trades in ~2 minutes or maybe ~2.5 minutes. Provisioning takes much longer, as the progress bar for the first two tiers is really slow.
Thanks everyone!
Hello!
It has been the first time for me playing EverQuest 2 and the fact that I had so much opportunities to group and being kinda "forced" to cooperate makes the game so much enjoyable to me.
I have though some fear about the server. Knowing that I can take my time and do things at my pace is a relief for me, like in the Classic vanilla server for WoW where I know the world won't suddenly change and all the current content will not become obsolete, making me enter in a constant loop of trying to keep track .
I read here and there that expensions would be released sooner or later on Origins, has this been confirmed?
Also, let's say that it's certain that expansions will be released, would I still be able to achieve most of the current content before it is released?
Thanks!
Played a bit (few months) at original release in ‘04 (big OG EQ player) and then A few other times here and there after the game went F2P (almost entirely solo).
Been getting the urge to check out the Origins server and roll up a Dirge to play.
Any suggestions on what I should be looking for/doing? Not overly interested in a rush to end-game and raids, but the leveling, questing, and dungeons are definitely on my to-do list.
I am coming back to the game. I have 350 AA, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a few aa builds.
This is what really confuses me. I remember in 2004, both these games were released around the same time. I absolutely thought Everquest 2 was going to kill wow before its release, but was completely wrong.
John Smedly had a lot of MMO experience from Everquest 1, while the wow team was completely new to this genre. It came as a complete surprise.
The only downside I saw In Everquest 2, despite the graphics being more advanced, looked extremely ugly, the character model's looked like cheap plastic dolls and to this day, looks like hot dog shit. This is the only downside I personally find in the game.
Other than that though, I feel like this game should've beaten wow out of proportion. Why did the game fail to see the massive success that wow did?
The tooltips tell me that I need to stack agi. But some videos I've seen seem to suggest that maximizing melee dps is done through str. Should I pick gear based on str or agi for a scout class?
Play the original EQ for many years even on a private server about a year and a half ago. But I want to give this game a shot. My question more than any other questions pertaining to classes and leveling and grinding is what server do I play on? I don't mind a little bit of a grind but I read the origin server is a real tedious grind although you do get the group of people. I play at odd times because I'm retired and I play a lot throughout the day in my time zone which is Eastern. Then I heard on the live servers you can level much faster but everything is solo until you reach the higher levels. So my question is is the grind really that bad on the origin server and is it still populated and most important what server do you guys recommend live or origin? Please let me know.
You’d just accidentally zoned into EC from Freeport, Rusty 2 handed sword in hand, and decided to explore, and you heard the mighty wings of this savage beast just above your head, conned redder than red can be…
Ahh, the good old days looks wistfully into the distance
Could a friend and I do some of the raids and the prismatic quest line, duo, at level 50 with a pair of mercs? Or is this not really a thing? We are looking to start up and relive our past fun mostly duo on live. Likely a mage and beastlord combo.
If we can't, would a max level player mentoring us make it a possibility? I know in the past a higher level mentoring down was super OP. The higher the gap, the more OP they were.
Really just trying to set our expectations and want to plan out our path a bit. Thank you for any insight!
WAY back in the day... like when this game first came out... I played for a few years. Even met my wife in game. However, life and all that has left me completely out of the gaming world for years now. Have been thinking of starting back up from fresh. Is there a decent player population? What is a good server to basically start on as a "new player"?
I'm playing over hotspot and I keep getting dropped. Why???????????
Does anyone know if you have ALTs on test or beta server, can you still buy new xpacs? Also do you have perks of membership on there? I know with EQ1 on test you basically have everything unlocked but just seeing if it's the same here
Hey all,
I am new to EQ2. I joined when I learned about the origin server. I just started a week ago. I got a Conj up to lvl 13 which took days... (not complaining.. just used to newer MMO's) Anyways, I am not sure if I am enjoying it my Conj. I rolled a SK and have been playing him this morning and it has been pretty fun so far.
Anyways to the real question... Do I continue on origins or start a new toon on a expansion current server. I tend to be a solo player so origins has been tough, yet I am afraid I would get lost and feel like I missed major story lines playing on an older server. Especially if people no longer run older content. Although I hear that origins may stop releasing expansions at some point so I will never catch up that way either if that is the case.
Kinda in a pickle - I have played 66hrs so far and I don't want to waste time on a server I wont stick with if that makes sense...?
Anyways thanks for any advice!
(If you do think I should leave origins which server should I join? I am in NA.)
Hello, have been thinking about dipping my toe into Origins to give it a shot. I am curious about how desired unique class spells/skills are? Things like wizard portals and other things unique to specific classes.
I ask because I generally like playing those things, usually because it helps people out when they're in need and I like helping, but don't like say -- healing, haha.
Just started EQ2 about 4 days ago ( only level 20 on maj'dul server ) planning on staying on this server into the near future. Any tips you can provide for a fresh new player?
Hey! as the title says im starting EQ2. i finally got some time. My question is what server do i play? the origins or the live servers? Also if someone can let me know if there is a druid type class that you can transform into things let me know xD
I am just curious to the berserker play style. I am new to eq2 and started on origins server as a brigand. Was thinking of playing zerker along with my wife who likes to play druids.
Is it solely a tank? Can you pass as a DPS in a group that already has a tank?
What's the preferred weapon setup? For tanking I imagine Sword and shield? Can you tank with Two handed weapons? Dual wield? Or the lack of shield will be too detrimental?
What's the best DPS set up? 2hander or dual wield?
Just trying to get a feel of what to look forward as a berserker vs guardian
