From Emby's app on my phone I can pay the monthly subscription of the feature to unblock playing videos in Brazilian reais, but there's no option for the lifetime subscription, only on the website and only in dollars. Is there a way to pay for the lifetime in Brazilian reais? I want full features so I can also watch live TV and acess my videos when I'm travelling.
Using Emby currently on my nee NAS, and it works perfect, my Trial just ran out, and I was wondering.
There is the option to do one time purchase of the app on the TV, which will provide me TV playback anytime.
I have gone through all the benefits of premium, but budget is tight and I am trying to cut down on subscriptions as much as I can, so I am planning to cancel netflix and similar and just keep Emby, which means, at 12.99 a month, its too dear to go for full sub.
So the app purchase, which if I understand it correctly, is one time only, and will unlock unlimited playback on my TV. The question is, can I purchase this through my Phone, or are those two separate unlocks? I only need the TV, so I am afraid if I do it from my Phone, it will only unlock it on my phone, where I dont need it, but not on the TV?
Thanks for advice
I've been using IPTV subscriptions for a bit but I want to know how someone creates a 24/7 channel for movies and shows. I have a big media library and I would like to create my own channels for my own personal use. The ones in IPTV subscriptions aren't updated too much and I would like to create some for my Emby or Plex Server. I only use my laptop at the moment. I'm looking to get a server soon but not sure what to look for in a server. If anyone can steer me towards articles or resources to help me learn more about how to do this on my own, I would deeply appreciate it. Also, I want to be able to watch these channels on Apple TV.
I have about a dozen or so of the Walt Disney Treasures disks that I presently have each under their own collection, i.e. Mickey Mouse in Color, Mickey Mouse in Black and White, Donald Duck etc. I'd like to be able to nest these collections under one collection.
I was just reading on the Emby Blog that some users have figured out a way to hack Emby to create nested collections. Does anyone here know how to do that? Luke suggested they were hacking the api.
Hi "If I run an Emby server on my local LAN network, only access it within my home,, can my ISP see what files I'm streaming or send copyright infringement notices?"
Hello everyone, I am trying my best to make a new account on emby, but something is going wrong with the servers and/or host. I ended up getting a server running, but then no shows or movies popped up. If you have the time I would appreciate your help, thanks.
Hi all,
For those of you who are running Emby Server on either an M1, M2 or M3 Mac and have at least a 1GB upload and download internet connection, how many simultaneous remote streams that require transcoding is the Mac able to support before buffering occurs at the client end?
I currently have a very old PC running an Intel i7-4790K cpu with 32GB RAM and a 1GB down and 400MB up internet connection and it can comfortably handle 3 simultaneous remote streams without buffering. I am assuming transcoding is taking place as the remote clients are either iPads, Android Tablets or Smart TVs running the Emby client app.
I am now very tempted to upgrade this PC to the new M4 Mac Mini mostly because its a lot cheaper to run 24/7 from an electricity cost point and at $599 for the base model represents great value now that 16GB unified memory is standard and the optional 10GB ethernet is reasonable priced at $100 but I have heard that macOS only supports only one video hardware transcode at a time - does this limit also apply to software transcoding handled by the CPU and is this still a limit in macOS Sequoia?
Few days back I have paid 5 bucks for Android TV app in order to have unlocked play option. Today I have purchased Emby Premiere lifetime license and then I opened the app settings in the Display settings Themes are not available. Message below stating that it requires Emby Premiere membership. Can you guys give me any hint, how to get it active.?
I’ve changed my password and deleted a device from the server. However they are still able to log in. What’s more strange is the Emby.media/pin uses my old password still.
I have installed the "Emby for Kodi Next Gen" addon v10.1.0 (latest stable) on Kodi v21.1 (Android installation). I have successful logged into my Emby server from Kodi. During the configuration, I choose "Addon (Default)" as the sync mode.
For the life of me, I cannot understand why I cannot see my movies and TV content as thumbnails in Kodi's main "Movies" and "TV shows" pages.
In those pages, I can see two entries "emby-for-kodi-next-gen-addon-video" and "emby-for-kodi-next-gen-addon-video-path-substitution". Clicking on those I get "Path not found or invalid" .
If I drill down into Video Addo-ons > Emby for Kodi Next Gen, I can see "Synced nodes" and "Dynamic nodes". Going into those I can see all kinds of entries and can find my content there. But I just want to see it the regular way "Movies" and "TV shows" pages.
Any ideas how to resolve this? Or is that how it is with Emby for Kodi Next Gen?
Hello everyone,
I run Emby in combination with Radarr, Sonarr, Bazarr and Sabnzbd on my proxmox homelab. Everything runs great, but I have the problem of getting the metadata in Dutch for the TV series. For films it works fine, but not for TV series, the language stays in English.
What could this be?
Maybe i missed something but with every serie or movie i have around 3 subtitles. Why is not even one selected as default? Is that a setting?
I recently Upgraded from CORE to SCALE 24.10 (electric eel).
EMBY install went well, accessed it using the WEBUI from app (which is on my home network IP range) and port 9096.
Now the issue I have is related to the information showing up on the EMBY dashboard I see in the settings menu..
The in-home (LAN) IP is something I can not ping and shows up as 172.16.xxx.xxx (which is not what my network is on). I assume this is internal to docker.. As for the remote (WAN) I use a certificate, same I used for my other emby instances which i know works (nothing changed regarding my DNS)..
On my previous EMBY instance, whatever was on the dashboard I could ping/access and it gave me full access from emby app (locally) and in emby connect (remotely)
Now my EMBY app will not detect EMBY server on my home network. I have to manually enter the IP (the WEBUI IP 192.168.xxx.xxx) and that's how i access it on my home network.
I still can not figure out how to access it remotely tho.. I forwarded 9096 port on my router to my WEBUI ip but remote SSL access is still not working.. the port is opened as i can use my WAN IP along with 9096 port and it does ping from outside..
anyone came across this issue recently? I really am stuck on this and no idea where to go from here.
Unlock Emby for Android TV?? Is that one time purchase or subscription??
Hi all. Currently I run Emby on an old Terramaster f2-210. It's served me okay but can no longer keep up with my family and I.
I have 6 users, and the server just crashes and needs manually restarting every time more than 2 of us are watching anything, especially if someone is watching something in 4k. I have 300mb internet, so that shouldn't pose any problems.
In an ideal world, I would want to build or buy my own server that can cope with 4 or so simultaneous users accessing 1080p video on the emby.
I can't find any clear documentation on what kind of spec a server would need to be to cope with that - can anyone here provide me with some suggestions? I'm happy to build my own or buy something dedicated. Ideally I wouldn't want to spend a fortune on a server, but I'm realistic about what I'd be asking of the device.
Many thanks all!
Hi Team,
I currently have Emby running on a Asustor Lockerstor 6 Gen2 (AS6706T - https://www.asustor.com/en/product?p\_id=78). I mainly have 10-bit 4K H.265 media with the OS/Emby running off SSDs. Currently the NAS and Emby works great
However, I ran out of storage and saw they have released a new unit.
ASUSTOR LOCKERSTOR 10 Gen3 AS6810T
https://www.asustor.com/en-gb/product?p_id=89
How do you think Emby would run on this new unit compared to my current one?
my scans are taking almost 2 hours, would I benefit from maybe a ceph environment ?
I have over 600k movies/tv. is this just to be expected? I recently just left plex for emby
Any quick suggestions?
the good news, It seems to be handling 20+ streams at a time no issues
update its down to 10 minutes, I guess it just needed to do it a few times
I want to stream on my TV without being connectet to a Power eater PC. What are my posibilities without using the build-in browser in my panasonic TV?
I have a RPI 4 + My Emby on OpenMediaVault server. The data is stored on my main server. The duplication of data for streaming is not intended.
Edit: My research. Emby Theater?

We noticed last night after we sat down from trick-or-treating that Emby had a Halloween theme applied to the home screen which was awesome! Suggested spooky movies, orange theme color and background music was solid!
Now for the feedback: I totally understand that some holidays are really only about the single day but other holidays I feel have a big lead up like Halloween or Christmas, etc.
I would love if there was a way that I could put a setting in for how many days holidays are applied automatically prior to the holiday starting. Like I said, it was awesome to see Halloween pop up, but it was right really as the Halloween holiday was ending and would have preferred to see it a few days earlier at least!
I'm having some sort of trouble scheduling new recordings with shows I used to record, but stopped recording for a while. When I try to schedule it the screen hangs for some time, and then continues. It's not scheduling a series. Just the episode I clicked on. That tells me something has been corrupted.
So my question is, how would I wipe out the recording schedule to start fresh? Is it just a matter of deleting a few files with the server down that will re-create blank versions of themselves at the next startup? If so, which ones? Thanks in advance!
Would anyone have a good landscape cover for the "Collections" section they wouldn't mind sharing? I tried generating one using AI, and goggling for some too, but I can't find anything good enough.
Hi,
I've completed my new media server (Radarr,Sonarr, Emby etc...) with the help of Trashguide and a few reddit post. Everything run smooth and so far so good but I only have one problem which i'm not sure if I missed something through my configuration but I believe this is something Radarr should be able to handle or maybe Emby ?
I have my Emby setup to save metadata in NFO file which usually end up having the same name of the movie file downloaded from Radarr with the recommended naming scheme: that part is fine !
Movie file: The Movie Title (2010) [{Imax Edition}] [WEBDL-720p][HDR10][DTS 5.1][x264].mkv
NFO file : The Movie Title (2010) [{Imax Edition}] [WEBDL-720p][HDR10][DTS 5.1][x264].nfo
My issue is when Radarr does upgrade a movie from let's say WEBDL-720p to WEBDL-1080p, it will delete the 720p file and correctly import the 1080p with the proper naming scheme but won't rename the previous NFO file and Emby will create a new one after scanning the library. I end up having 2 NFO with different name.
Movie file: The Movie Title (2010) [{Imax Edition}] [WEBDL-1080p][HDR10][DTS 5.1][x264].mkv
previous NFO file: The Movie Title (2010) [{Imax Edition}] [WEBDL-720p][HDR10][DTS 5.1][x264].nfo
new NFO file: The Movie Title (2010) [{Imax Edition}] [WEBDL-1080p][HDR10][DTS 5.1][x264].nfo
If Radarr goes through 3 upgrade before reaching ideal quality I will have 3 NFO in the movie folder.
My previous media server didn't have this issue because I was only using Movie Tile (year) for my file name so the NFO was overwritten by the new NFO because the name was the same.
My temporary solution is a powershell script (thx to chatgpt lol) to find all the movie folder that contain NFO with different quality naming scheme but I'm still wondering if there's a way from Radarr to actually delete the NFO when it does delete the old MKV before importing the new one.
I also searched in my emby settings and I do not see any settings to delete all NFO before generating a new one.
Any idea ? :)
Apologies if I am missing it:
Is there any way to use the Filter on the Movie page for IMDB rating or Critic rating below/above a specific number?
I know you can organise/sort asc or dec by IMDB or Critic rating but that is not a very good layout to easily follow. Naturally, the Titles are all over the place due to the sorting.
With filter you can still sort by Title/Year etc.
Thank You
So I noticed today that there's now a way to re-order "My Media" options. THANK YOU! Is there a way to exclude libraries from the large and small "My Media" sections independently? Because I'm trying to re-design the home screen, and it what were possible it would be soooooo much better.
That way one could reveal the common selections in My Media large, and then put the rest in My Media small, but excluding the ones already in large. It would be so much neater.
So I have an Emby Server running on a Synology DS220j NAS. My upload speed at the server is 350mbps. My download speed where I am is 200mbps.
Scenario: I have a 5.8gb movie file mk format, h265 HDR 10bit etc.
Tried it on both an Android tablet and iPhone 14 Pro Max as well as a hardwired Android TV box. I have set all of the playback network speed to 4K 120mbps on clients.
Video plays direct and sometimes it'll play fine for a minute or two and start stuttering randomly etc.
Should I be able to play it fine? If I look at resource usage on the NAS real time, CPU stays around 60-70%, upload speed is a measly 2-3mbps and doesn't go up much. What could be the issue?
I have a few files which have PGSSUB and DVDSUB format subtitles. It plays fine on my android device on the official emby app but it starts transcoding the whole video when I play it on the web client. I don't have particularly powerful hardware so I want most of my video to direct play. Is there any way through which I can do this?
