How can a song be so perfect? I’ve been listening to that song every single day on repeat for MONTHS. How can a song be so beautiful? Elliott is truly the greatest songwriter. It makes my ears melt. Twilight is my favourite song ever!!!!! The lyrics, the guitar, his voice??? It’s perfection.
He was so soft spoken and sweet, we were sitting at a bar or something. I told him I had a nutrient deficiency and he advised me to start eating breakfast, saying it helped when he had deficiencies too. Out of no where he mentioned he got a tshirt for me. I giggled and asked how he’s going to give it to me since he’s dead then I told him “Maybe if I make it to heaven”. And then I woke up
who knows
We had a tie for first, but Cecilia/Amanda bit the dust and came in last. What’s best?
The album version is great, but I personally prefer the alternate version. I love the backwards guitar and the bass.
I am just curious. I’m actively struggling with addiction. For obvious reasons I think Elliott’s music appeals to addicts or recovering addicts. Not saying only addicts can appreciate it or that it’s all he sings about, but I think we can safely say addiction/drug use is a common theme in his music. I don’t think he encourages drug use, of course, more so he shares the experience of being an addict, including the feelings involved, but there is also an ever present desire to change, especially in his later work.
So let’s hear it, have y’all struggled with addiction? In recovery? Or if you have not, I am interested to hear that, too.
Ps. I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way or disrespectful to Elliott’s legacy in any way. I am not trying to glorify drug use here. As an addict who would like to get clean one day, Elliott’s music is a great source of comfort for me.
I sometimes listen to Elliott's music when I'm trying to fall asleep, but I prefer to not let a whole playlist play, since the song changes can feel startling. Instead I choose one song and loop it and recently that song has been Little One. I was curious what songs yall like falling asleep to
If there was a sadness scale how would you rate Elliot's sadness?
edit: hey dont hurt me guys this is just a fun question from a true elliot fan 😭
i know plenty of songs that make me horribly depressed. but never have i seen an artist be so successful at crushing my entire heart and soul into a million pieces in nearly every piece of creation they make
Does anyone know any other places? I know he used to live in Park Slope on bergen st.
