Me and my dad have a kite skateboard but it doesn't really work good on the beach so we're were hoping there was any way to convert it to an electric skateboard/kiteboard because you can't really use it as a normal skateboard since of the straps/ large wheels
I added a surfskate kit to my Boosted Mini and it was probably the most fun carving experience you can have at around 25mph.
Does anyone know how the DKP setup on the Tynee will compare.
I recently purchased this model meepo https://www.meepoboard.com/products/meepo-hurricane
and the cyclone wheels have been a huge let down, but i love the gear drive. I had meepo replace all 4 wheels and I still dont have a full set that will hold air long enough for a safe ride.
does anyone know if these will fit this set up https://www.meepoboard.com/collections/wheels/products/175mm-pneumatic-tire-set-for-hurricane
and will I need to purchase different gear drive mounts or will those fit into these tires?
thanks for all your help, Im desperate to have tubes again

She’s old and beat up but definitely a reliable board
I’ve had this for almost two years now, and I’ve really never had an issue.
If I want to be picky, the remote dies somewhat quickly, even faster than the board sometimes. Non issue, I keep a power bank on me
29mph top speed with this setup I’d estimate about 30 miles of range
So I have just ordered the new backfire NALU and wondering safety gear recommendations for safety. I have ridden E-skates before (my mates) and used their gear, but those were evolve boards and the tynee stinger, they go a lot faster and have more power than the NALU so I get the full helmet and pads and that. NALU tho only has a 25km/h top speed (16mph) And 20km range ( bigger now with battery update , no clue about exacts tho ) What kind of gear should I get for these lower speeds? Same as the high speeds or different, I like to ride to beaches and around, often bare foot too( but always under 10km/h if so) But when faster is a normal like bmx helmet ok or still a full face one? And what kind of pads should I get? I tend to like ride in light cloths like shorts and shirt. So preferable pads that work with those kinda like gloves / the ones like a knee support that I can wear under. Any recommendations or help welcome!!
I'm quite afraid to keep an electric longboard inside of my house especially since I'm interested in cheaper ones. Is there anyway I can store it outside?
Hey everyone, long time reader. Looking for advice on my first board.
I'm torn between these 3 boards Tynee mini 3 (not sure which spec yet) belt drive - looks nice and portable. And great price point.
Tynee stinger - bigger board and double king pins. The Tynee team recommend this board. But I'd probably lower it and switch to tkp.
Or
Exway wave riot - I like the idea of interchangeable batteries. Potential to take it traveling. Not sure if I could put 110 rovers on it. As I hear these are great for around town on road and rough paths.
Use case would be for short trips around town. I don't have a car or any real means of transport and I live in a walkable part of town. Has a few hills and it takes me a while to walk anywhere. Like to head to the shops it's a 30 minute round walk. I'd like a board I can nip down to the shops or go from a cruise around town. Probably 8-10km in a trip max. I'm not sure if I could lock up the board when I'm in the stores etc so would be good to carry it in with me, maybe in a bag or similar.
I'm around 90kg and about 6'4"
Budget isn't really a concern, happy to pay for a good product.
Woild appreciate any advice or recommendations. Maybe I have missed a board. Pick holes in my plan. Thanks!
Hello everyone!
I've been browsing this subreddit for a while, and I've been thinking about buying an electric skateboard for commuting.
I already know how to ride a skateboard, and sometimes I already go around with my longboard too.
I was thinking about buying an electric skateboard from Backfire (one of the starting ones) and my budget is around 350-400€.
Should I cosider buying one in the first place? In that case, what can be good and worth buying?
My trip isn't that long (around 3.5 km) but it can be sometimes bumpy, so I was thinking about a flexible board. I also don't care about max speed and range, since i can recharge it in University.
Hi everyone, I just picked up a second hand ownboard w2, and the belts are shot. It has 105 cloud wheels, and I was wondering where I can get the belts I need, (I'm located in Australia)
(Edit) Thank you to those who commented, I have the right ones on the way, now I just have to be bored without my eboard for a month
Has anyone swapped their Blitzart LG battery with a battery that has longer range? As it stands, I'm getting about 7 to 9 miles flying at full speed (20 to 30 mph.) I LOVE this board as is, but would like to get more miles out of my board so I can ride for longer periods of time. I'm not necessarily looking for faster, as the board has a good speed to me, but I would like to ride for longer amounts of time without my battery dieing.
The battery is advertised as 36v 5.2ah 187wh 20 cell LG battery. If you know of an alternative battery, or have done a swap before, please let me know before I rebuild the battery / buy a new battery (that could possibly not work.)
Thank you!
So i Heard about e skate building kits that lets you make your own E skate with a board of your choice but im asking myself if people really build them and use them. I feel like its a unnecessary waste of energy.
I have been mostly skating Half Cabs for over 20 years. I can't 100% compare these yet but so far the 440's are super comfortable and I am very optimistic.
Only hit a 10 mile session today. Normally around 20.
I can post an update after some good mileage if anyone is interested.
Huge thanks for this recommendation though!
Am I mad? Probably. But I just booked my Christmas gift for myself which looks like a very decent board. Let's wait 2 months now for the arrival (since I'm in Europe)
I'm about to try and fix this thing
I’ve been working on an app called Pointz that’s all about helping riders find safer, low-stress routes to feel confident and comfy on the roads. Right now, it has emergency roadside assistance, plus a color-coded road safety map (from red to dark green for safety ratings), a slider to help choose the optimal balance of safety vs. speed, and options for specific preferences, like avoiding hills, selecting routes for different bike types and Scooters, avoiding multi-use paths, and more. It has a bunch of other things like a way to record your ride (like Strava), GPX exporting, and even crowdsourcing (like Waze). But I'm curious—what features would you all actually use? Especially folks who are new/intermediate to riding in cities and suburbs. Would love to hear your thoughts
Would like to use the tynee stinger for getting around to places, but I am worried I purchased it a little too reflexively and now I'm worried I'm not going to be able to use it as transit because it will be too big to bring into anything.
Anyone who has one, thoughts? How is using this to get around going for you?
It actually hasn't arrived yet, maybe buyers guilt but was curious what other peoples experience has been like. For example say you wanna run to a store to grab some milk or something haha
I want to buy my first board but I’m not sure if I should save up to get a belt drive board or just go with a hub drive I’m scared that the hub motors won’t last as long as the belt drive motors can someone help me out
Who’s got me beat?
Hi! It's my first time posting here =)
my Meepo v5 battery died on me 1 year (im guessing due to riding right after it stopped raining heavy, yeah i know. lesson leaned =(
I'm not planning on spending more than 600$.
Anyways I'm highly debating which new board to get my commute is mainly on roads that are slightly bumpy and my commute is not very long 10km total at most( Meepo V5 was barely enough).
the one's I've seen (and current pricing) so far are:
-Wowgo e3 439$ (they give you a 20$ discount code)
-tynee ultra belt 579$ (it comes with the 105 mm wheels)
-meepo envy 600$ (most powerful?)
feel free to add any recommendations.
Edit(i forgot to mention im 190cm{6'2} 115kg{250lbs} so max load is kinda important for me)
I bought the board from a mate; “the battery is a bit weak”, at a good price to see if I would enjoy it… wow, do I ever. I love it!!
In a few days I had done around 50 miles.
It was very frustrating to ride for a few reasons.
Ok, so, since I love the AT 7 inch pneumatic wheels style and deck, let's fix everything else at once.
The old prismatic cells had to go.
The ESC had to go.
The proprietary BMS was unfun.
The remote forefinger trigger was too easy to accidentally bump and the connection issues were an issue.
Because of a few nice features, I really wanted to go with https://www.puaida.com/products/copy-of-dual-hub-motor-esc-remote-kit-for-diy-electric-skateboard-electric-speed-controller-for-longboard-remote-controller but its out of stock for ages and they don’t answer their emails or contact form.
Did a ton of reading of this sub (thanks everyone that has committed on DIY builds over the years) and settled on second choice of https://www.ownboard.net/products/electric-skateboard-esc-for-ownboard-w2-m1
Battery (affectionately known as ‘the bomb’) is this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P3Z9DRQ
Cheap top box is here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3RLLQWQ
It was all plug and play, so about 15 minutes from ripping the old stuff out and holding the new build together with a zip tie to take it for a quick rip around the block.
It was amazing.
Back to the workshop. CAD up an adaptor plate. Print with old dry purple filament, it fits well.
Take it for a better test run. Yeah, got a whole new board.
Back to the workshop (aka dining room table) and tweak 1mm here and there, print in black and fit it all back for the last time with some sealant on the ESC and 5 bolts holding the top bomb box to the deck.
While it was plug and play, the top speed is 15.8 mph, not the 30 Ownboard claim the ESC can do, so there clearly is an issue with the motors or HALL effect feedback sensors. I don’t care. I'm very happy at 15 mph top speed and wont try and find out why I can't go faster.
The fonts on the remote are beyond tiny and unreadable even with my bifocal glasses. Thankfully I can see the two fuel gauges (remote and main battery).
No more connection issues and the remote thumb control is what it should be. Solid.
It's a transformed board from what I bought. Way more torque and way more range, I've tested to about 20 miles and there is more left in the tank.
The only thing I don’t like is the surging at whatever speed range you select. Even in speed 1, when you max the remote, the speed ‘hunts’ around 8mph annoyingly pulsing the speed to keep it at 8 (or 10 or 12 or 15 - each of the 4 speed ranges).
9.5/10 can recommend.
Which should I get for cruiser style EBoard? Looking at these two options, for daily commuting to and from work about 2.5 miles each way.
ETA: Looking at Belt Drive systems for both.
Its somehow little late, but I have an skatebolt breeze II and I loved it. Battery dies 2 times.
The first one from one the to another only lasted like 20% of the capacity. I contacted them, no warranty, so I bought another battery, when received the battery it was dated 1 1/2 years ago (at that date). Contacted them again, they said that they are all new and fresh. The webpage on the battery pack didnt exit anymore haha. anyway, that battery worked perfect, until I didnt charge it for like 4 months (new father). then I tried to charge and didnt work. Opened the pack, 4 cells (that are actually samsung), had 0v, while the others had 4.0v. Im planning to replace the cells and have that pack working again while I get the new one (with little luck) from China.
So, I found a Chinese page that made this packs, for like 120. and I bought one.
But then went to the Skatebolt page, and they have a sale on breeze II, So I rushed to get one. I really love the board... Then I found that they didn't post anything on any social media since like 2022.
So I'm wonder if they close as company and somehow the page still up... or they are still in business. They never replied any message that I left 2 weeks ago...
Anyone here bought from them in the past months?
Thanks for reading!
PD: At some point in life, skatebolt had a thing that you sent pictures of your skate and you could win a brisk skate. And I won. I used that skate like 2 times. then put it away, tried to keep it charged.
Same thing, it started charging, then is not charging at all or working, and yes correct power supply. I wonder if anyone open one of these to get to the battery pack since I can figure it out how. My last chance is to remove the glue rubber from the top and look for screws under it.
