I have my Cliensy electric bike for about two months now, and all of a sudden it will not work. Also, I took it out earlier that day and it worked fine. Yet, when I got back home the bike just went dead. The battery seems fine. I thought a connector had disconnected, but everything seems to be connected properly. However, when I toggle the wires in the front of the bike that is wrapped in the tape it came with. It seems to work, but then it goes dead again. On the LCD display it gives me a E 10 code. I can't find anything online, and I can't find anything in the manual to help me with this issue. Yet, my suspicion is that the wire that powers up the bike is bad. Cheap wiring might be the issue...Yet, I do not know that because I'm not a bike mechanic, just speculating on the issue. I've never had a good track record with bikes. I took really good care of this one! Maybe I'm not meant to drive bikes. Kinda had a taste of freedom as the bike gets to places pretty fast. Can anyone help me with this issue?
Hey guys. I’m interested in purchasing an ebike conversion kit w/ disc brakes. Any recommendations? Does the placement of the motor matter?
Hello!
I am very excited by the prospect of converting myself an ebike and wanna do it soon while we're all still stuck in the house! That all being said I have 2 very nice bikes with 27.5 inch wheels (a Kona Tika, and Giant Talon 3) soooo, I am hoping to convert one of them to start and am on a very very tight 200-300 dollar budget. I know that is super tight but I feel I might as well put my foot in the door with the whole thing! I am luckily a tech enthusiust and aspiring engineer so I can do the less user friendly things. That all being said, I think I'm going with the good old cheapo scooter battery in a bag design... but the thing I am struggling with is MOTORS! I would ideally like a hub drive one and know that with smaller 26 inch wheels I could for sure do it! That being said... they tend to be 290+ for the 27.5 inch ones. I also considered going the chain motor root but will that be terrible? Will I still get a decent ride? I am in the mountains and hoping to get a reasonable assist on them. ALSO, how loud do those get? terribly?
So i got a 29er a while ago, and although I have tried to get used to it, I simply find that I am going for my 26" non-electric bike more simple due to the nimble-ness of it.
So I am trying to find an electric bike that has 26" wheels. But it seems like this is going out of fashion. Every store I visit carries 29ers mainly, or 27.5s which, despite pressure from every retailer, I just don't like.
I found this: https://www.electrabike.com/bikes/townie-go/townie-go-8d-8d-eq?g=stepover
One retailer will get it in for me to look at locally, but they're heavily discouraging me from getting it. But I am catagorically not going to buy another 29er, depsite their best efforts.
So I look to this community. Do you know of any 26" electric bikes, that I can get in Australia (Vic) that are simple and basic. I am not looking for any bells and whistles. Just a nice commuter. The more simple and basic, the better.
Thanks everyone :)
Hi Guys, I’m looking for the best bang for my bucks to buy an electric bike. I have a budget of 3500 USD, with shipping to Montreal, Quebec . I need it for my daily commute to work, I live on a hill, so the bike needs to be able to climb those hills, with ideally more than 500W.
Thank you guys so much!!
How do you charge the 2020 KTM Freeride E-XC here in the USA?
We talk about some of the issues with charging the Freeride electric dirt bike here in the USA. KTM is a European dirt bike manufacture which means their plugs are different. We explore how to charge this electric dirt bike here in the USA and what the process is.
Just replaced my controller, and now whenever I accelerate on full throttle, there is a loud vibration noise. Could this be coming from the controller???? (Fat tire - 750w Bafang)
I bought a new-ish Trek MTB (cheapest version) with one of those Voilamart BLDC 36V rear wheel motor DIY kits. well, it lasted a week before it left me pushing it home. im not overly shocked or upset about this because im also into vintage 2-stoke mopeds and have pushed many of them home too. However, here is what I've noticed:
Edit: I'm not afraid to solder wires and make new connections. if i was going to use a "better" quality controller, what might i look for?
Is this commute viable? My parents don't believe me.. I can take DART (train) to cut the distance in halfish. Also, please recommend a bike you would think best suits this commute.
Anyone know where I can get this bike in the US? Perhaps in the NYC/NJ area?
There are the non-electric versions that are posted on eBay, but I'd rather get the option to have the pedal assist.
Sonders looks even more tempting since their new price drops this year.
However, is the price drop a bad thing? Is it actually a sign of a failing company?

I travel for a living, and have the Fold X would be amazing for my days off in other places. Is there anything else on the market that offers the same kind of bike?
