I just can’t decide whether it’s worth the time to keep going… this game is enormous and I have a family and a real job. Thoughts?

Hello everyone, I'm sure this is no new topic on this subreddit but I have the worst stuttering for Elden Ring, most of the time the game is fine but then once it starts it doesn't stop. I have watched video after video trying to find a permanent solution however the fixes seem to only be temporary before they start again.

I was wondering if anyone who's had the same issues has found something permanent, I have verified the game files, changed Nvidia 'Shader cache size' to unlimited, set Elden Ring and the anti cheat to priority - high performance in graphic settings, turned vsync off, ran the game in windows borderless, and more, all of which are suggestions of the numerous videos I watched to try and resolve the issue. I get my hopes up when it stops but then it comes back not too long after.

Please if someone has found success please lend a hand, this is one of the best games I've ever played and I hate that a poor optimization or anti-cheat issues are ruining my experience.

35 M from the USA. I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember. I have at least touched basically every system from atari forward. Most of my time spent with driving sims, platformers and RPG's, with some RTS and FPS thrown in. Like many, I have found myself disappointed with many modern AAA games. I had been mostly playing older emulator games for most of 2024.

I have watched some souls gameplay, I have Dark Souls 2 on a 360 emulator with about 2 hrs of gameplay, none of it grabbed me. Sekiro looks sick but I have no interest in buying another console. The Elden Ring videos I had seen looked interesting, but I wasn't sure it was worth $60. Black myth came out and I thought that looked really cool. And had heard how similar it was to elden ring.

Then one day I open up steam looking for a new game... again....to see Elden Ring on sale for $40....fine I'll try it.

1 hr is all it took. I was hooked, the world building, the design, the lore, the gameplay, the challenge, the lack of hand holding, the scale, the GAME is amazing! WTF how did I not try this sooner!

6 weeks later I have about 150hrs of gameplay. Becoming the Elden Lord has become a part time job, and I LOVE it!

It is like the best M rated Zelda game you can imagine. It is the Witcher... mixed with Duke Nukum and Game of Throne's. It is the best game I have played since Skyrim, maybe longer, it for sure beats Skyrim in many areas! I am just blown away at every turn.

I am nearing completion of my 1st playthrough....I don't want it to end. I want to keep exploring this world. I cant get enough! I find comfort in knowing I have a massive DLC to explore still.

Is it perfect, no. It for sure has its flaws, but this game has rejuvenated my hope in the industry and given me a more positive outlook for the future of gaming. I want more like this! I know this is a game is will come back to many times over the next decade or two! I hope other game developers take notes! Great work FromSoft!

TLDR: PLAY THE DAMN GAME ALREADY!

if i have 13 base str + 5 str from the godrick rune so I can 2h my bloodhound fang, will my mimic tear be able to use the bloodhound fang weapon?

or will it be swinging it without the proper stat requirements and do way less damage?

Haven't played since about a month after release and decided to roll a new character to see if I wanted to invest in the DLC.

Instead of looking at a guide, I just went everywhere and did everything but Stormveil.

The Capital, California, Weeping Peninsula, Livonia, etc.

Everything but Stormveil because of how much Margit fucked me up on my first playthrough.

I was a bit over-powered by the time I decided to clear it.

So, I guess, what are the lengths you all have gone to for revenge/personal beef in this game?

Greetings members of the elden Ring subreddit, I come with a bit of an obscure question. Can you drop a dlc weapon for someone who doesn't have the dlc yet. One of my friends saw a particular weapon that's only in the dlc and he wanted to try it out.

It's kinda sad how nerfed he got in the update... He's easier to dodge and lost his threat factor. Although I would agree that he is a lot more fun to play against now. What are you thoughts on it?

Just beat Messmer ( No summon hehe) and though he was hard he was probably my favorite boss in the whole game but this dumb sunflower is pissing me off, I hate him/her, I hate the stupid thorns and undodgable bullshit, I cant wait to get this stupid boss out of the way.

I'm on my NG+2 and usually this dragon just runs away when you get close to it I just started running past it at some point. Didn't even know it could attack physically other than raining down red lightning as you approach lol.

I noticed PC has the Character Manager. Was wondering if there’s also a way for us to make another Character Slot duplicating another character? Appreciate any info and insights. Thanks!

First time trying to beat the shielded furnace golem and it keeps on transporting away and then I waste all my furnace pots 🥲 is this a glitch or a fromsoft trickery lmao

So basically when you start your journey, the fingers and their maidens want you to become elden lord, but cus i dont know about all endings, how do they want you to become elden lord if not by burning the erdtree. When you get to the lift that leads to mountentops of the giants theres a finger maiden that says you shouldn't burn the erdtree cus its "a sin", then what other way there is to become elden lord?

ok so either im going insane or this is actually broken i just got the dragon form transformation item from the dlc and its doing the same damage neglection as the radhan armour without the equip load im doing light rolls with protection of the radhan set the only downside of this i see is not letting u use ur armour buffs like the white mask buff

Hi, I bought elden ring a week ago and already had 30 hours on it and got the marry ranni for my first playthrough, so I can give a review of it as someone who never played any souls game, let's begin

1: "THE WORLD"

the game world is truly nice, good looking, good environments and nice people who doesn't want to kill me, but for some reason, I think the world exploration is unbalanced in some way, in some areas they feel empty, full of nothingness and just a small chunk of land to connect the areas between, and some others are absolutely crafted with perfection, main areas like the academy, the capital and stuff, and don't make mention forget about the mind blowing discovery of a whole new area hiding under some stupid temple

2: "THE GAMEPLAY" The gameplay is nice, fun and engaging, alot of nice weapons, armors and other items, sadly I can say that this game focuses on heavily trying to make you follow a strong build, alot of weapons feel unbalanced, with some being in the early game and can carry you through the game with other weapons in later areas that even are soldier of God Rick deal more damage..., although I'm no innocent for using hookclows for the majority of my playthrough(but why the bosses weapons are weak?)

3: "THE BOSSES"

Im sorry for what I'm about to say, but there's Few little unique bosses, and even fewer with cutscenes, the seven main bosses and some others like the rain deer, the alien worm and mohg are few I can say they are unique, but sorry I don't like to fight the 7th erdtree avatar, the 3rd godskin boss and the 20th armored person riding a horse, it's boring and unfunny how much recycled boss, like you can't convince me why a normal gorgyle is a boss in the early game, still had my fun

4: "THE QUESTS"

Horrible, absolutely horrible, they are peak but horrible at the same time, hated how I went through a castle for a lady just to find her dead (her dad's weapon is good though) and loved how I gave a hated creature a reason to live, and showed him even despite the flaws in him, he is beautiful and doesn't need to go to a mentally ill witch to reborn him, although I absolutely hate how the quests functions, no leading, no hints, nothing, your only way to continue a quest line without YouTube is by gambling your time to explore every inch of the map so you can find "peepee the bbw lover" to continue his quest just to find him skinned and eaten by something behind a random building, and that's not fun...., GOD BLESS BLAIDE, THE BEST NPC IN THE GAME

Is anyone is this world normal? From the family of Gods and powerful beings who hate each other and fk each other (to sometimes thier siblings and even themselves) is really concerned

WHY THE FK THERE'S 3 MARGRIT, 2 GODRICKS, AND ALOT OF ASS, CHEESECAKE AND BAD BOSSES, LIKE WHY THE TREE SENTINEL IS THE FINAL BARRIER BETWEEN ME AND THE CAPITAL AND NOT SOMETHING UNIQUE?!????!

Hello guys I was wandering about it and besides few guys that are just assholes, I think I get why some people really defend these games with their whole heart, sometimes in too agressive maneer.

Today I beat the first boss from the dlc and Man I got such intense adrenalinę rush and catharsis moment that I almost cried.

For some people, this is only psychological healing they can and have ever got.

And When someone offends What you Love, sometimes emotions just take the best of you.

I know it is Maybe pretty obvious, but it wasn t so obvious for me. Now I see What the hype is all about and I understand why those games are so deeply emotional for some.

I need mohg's shackle which is available in the subterranean shunning grounds under leyndell. I'm aware I'll need to defeat either draconic tree sentinel or fia's champions to enter leyndell. Does this mean unless I defeat either, I can't access subterranean shunning grounds?

A boss that fights you based on your fighting style.

If you fight close quarters he dodges more often and stays at a distance. If you try to stay at range he charges in to remain close. If you fight with magic he uses buffs to neutralize it.

Easter eggs: If you’re fighting with specific weapons the fight changes. If you’re using the staff of his deceased lover he fights more savagely. If your using the bastard sword of his sworn enemy (an optional boss in a difficult fortress) he fights more nobly.
