my boyfriend found this egg in his carton, is it safe to eat?

Years ago I was in China and they sold clear bags of hardboiled eggs in the shell on the street. They were a great snack because they were somehow already salty inside the shell. How did they do that? I'd like to do it myself.

Told by my doctor to increase my veggie intake so made a salad of what was left in my fridge and decided to throw two hard boiled eggs in. Basically radishes, cucumbers, avocado, sweet peppers, feta cheese, hard boiled eggs, leftover bacon bits, salt & pepper, a little Catalina.
