Hello! I found a bunch of really nice chantrelles today but unfortunately there was some pretty heavy rainfall this past week and they are quite wet. I was wondering if anyone has any good methods for drawing some of that moisture out. I would still like to eat them fresh. Thank you!
heyo, first time posting here. came home to see these pretties today. i'd love to hear if they're something safe and edible or not. thanks in advance, folkx!
Found these in the crook of an oak tree today. Are they Hen of the Woods? The orange base is making me think otherwise. If not, Are they edible?
Found on the cut stump of a tree…
I have a plum tree in my garden and just noticed some fungus/mushrooms growing out of the main stem.
Is this chicken of the woods?
I took a picture with my iPhone and it did that recognition thingy and seems to think it is. But would appreciate some expert confirmation from the group.

I'm new to mushroom identification and Google lens isn't correct... I at least know that much lol. I found them under some evergreens in my front yard. Any help would be appreciated and am grateful. 🙏 Thank you!
Just wanna know
I inoculated all four grain bags at the same time (bought from North Spore). The two on the right are Blues inoculated at the same time and with the same syringe (also North Spore). The two on the left are Pinks with the same inoculation scheme: All on July 1st. Didn’t touch them until I did a break and shake on the Blue on the far right two days ago - it grew very aggressively. The other Blue (second from right) spawned mycelium at a much slower rate, and I just did a B & S on that one and one of the Pinks tonight. I have not done B & S on the Pink on the far left. Both Pinks are showing much less aggressive growth than the Blues, with the mycelium not appearing very white, and just overall looking “weaker”. I’m in Orlando and it has been hotter than all get out here. My a/c can’t keep up with it and the room where I am conducting the grow gets into the mid 80s during the day, and into the mid 70s by 5 am. Thoughts on why this occurred? Also, is the Blue on the far right ready to mix to bulk substrate?
In the rocky mountains of alberta and there are largish white (completely) mushrooms everywhere, growing in or around grass close to fir and larch trees. Can't identify them for the life of me but they have pores instead of gills and from what i can tell those are all bolete's which are edible, no? Sorry no photo.
My family was quite picky growing up so I always thought mushrooms were icky slimy things. As an adult who now enjoys trying new foods, I’ve been adding baby bella mushrooms to my lasagnas, stir fry, etc. and I would like to learn how to cook other types as well. The only other mushroom I’ve ever had was enoki at a friend’s hot pot night and it was Delicious.
Any suggestions for recipes, types to try, anything really, are very much appreciated :)
I think this is a puffball mushroom. I live in southern Philippines. Could this be a puffball mushroom that is edible?
All picked from under same lone Silver Birch in Autumn, Wellington region, New Zealand.
They have pores and the shaggy pattern of bolettes. Is the green marking / staining common as shown in stem when cut? It’s in 5/7 I’ve picked?
