Yall im trying to buy an e bike i found one that goes 30 mph and is around $900. I'm trying to find one that goes around 30 mph but a little cheaper. Any recommendations?
So I have been really interested and thinking of getting a electric bike for a mix of road and trail riding. The concept of a dirt bike without the blaring chainsaw sound, its basically a dream come true. I know they aren't true dirt bikes, I am well aware that they are more of a mountain bike with power. However, I don't really have any interest in doing proper dirt bike jumping now that im in my 30s.
I grew up riding 2 stroke dirt bikes and absolutely loved it, it's just not practical for me to haul bikes these days and living in the suburbs around new york, we don't really have easy access dirt bike friendly riding areas. So, a quiet ebike is really enticing since I could ride it on local mountain bike trails and even on local roads.
So I have to ask, how does the power of the eride pro ss feel compared to a 125CC two stroke? is it even remotely comparable? Do they feel more like an 80cc? I know they can be juiced up to crazy levels but im just trying to get an idea of what to expect with a stock eride 12kw motor.
I have a an XtraCycle Edgerunner 24D with a Bionx hub motor. The motor could use a servicing as there is some gear slippage, but the biggest issue is that the G2 LCD computer screen has cracked and no longer shows any information. Not knowing the battery status is pretty brutal and replacement computers are >$300 online since Bionx is out of business. This has led to the decision to install a Bafang BB02 mid-drive motor. My current Bionx battery is 48V 8.8Ah 423Wh, so ideally I would be able to reuse it. Can anyone:
I'm looking to buy an ebike for my work commute. It's only about 5 miles but has some steep hills. Can anyone recommend a good brand? Something around £1,500 or cheaper ideally
Hi y'all, I am looking to purchase my first eBike and have narrowed it down between these two. I am a bigger guy, 6'4 330 lbs, so I was pretty much looking at fat tire eBikes only because of their higher weight capacities. These two bikes are very similar in build, both weighing 77 lbs and having a payload capacity of 400 lbs. Just thought I'd see if anyone here had any experience with either bike and their respective pros/cons. TIA!
I've seen some comments stating local shops won't work on ebikes they don't sell. How common is that? Seems kinda odd since most of the components are common.
I just recently got this Aniioki Bike but for some reason it wasn’t starting so I chalked it up to it having a dead battery. It’s been for 10+ hrs now and still won’t power on, So I open this compartment to find this disconnected green wire. Is this what is making the bike now power on?
Hello, I'm totally new to ebikes, but my drive to work is rotting my brain. The local bus is timed perfectly for me to wake up and ride it, but I need to bridge 9 miles to get from the closest stop to my work. They allow ebikes on the rack, but limit it to 55 pounds. The battery can be removed to achieve this. If I use an ebike to bridge this gap, that'd mean I'd need one that was:
Is there any bike like this that exists? If not, I know emopeds and scooters are discussed here, there's a parking garage near the bus I could park it at, any suggestions for those? I posted the full details of my situation here.
Thank you!
I am planing on building my first DIY bake with rear bafang hub motor, I am planing on buying everything from aliexpress Titan West Electric Bike Store from what I read they are official Bafang store, I also plan on buying batteries from them, How stupid would it be to buy A grade batteries instead of brand batteries samsung, panasonic, lg, price difference is about ~100€, Branded 48V20Ah cost 300€ while non brand A grade 48V13Ah 200€
Hello, so for awhile I've been trying to figure out what PEV to get. I was ebike for a while until I discovered electric scooters. Then I was team scooter until trying one out. As fast as it is, I need something safer and now I'm back on team ebike. In the future I might get one but not as pricey as a ebike. So now I'm here asking you for some advice.
The bike I've had my eyes on, and have tried, is the bike in the title. The thing is that it costs 3500 and I don't have 3500 lol. But I've thought about financing it. But I don't know if there's another bike I should go for that's cheaper and better. Here's some of my specs to give y'all a picture:
I'm 5'3 and between 235-245 with a backpack on
I bike an 8 mile round trip to work. But I want something I can use to go 30+ miles in on a day I get bored and want to travel with out using public transportation.
There are a couple good hills on my commute so need something with power
I spend at least $1000+ USD on transportation a year so I want to cut that cost
I would love to place a trailer in the back so I could pull my dog (80-90 lbs Siberian Husky) places
Would love something that I can bike in rain if I need to because weather where I'm at is something
Also has decent suspension because the roads are also crap here
The most I'm willing to spend is 3500
Hopefully this helps. Thank you and hope I can ride like you guys
Edit to add: I don't have a car so this bike will be my "car" for the time being
I test drive one of these today and loved it. Probably going to pull the trigger.
I’m a little worried about the Aventon A100 motor though. I can’t find much about it or reliability. Anyone have experience with it or with Aventon customer service / warranty?
I failed at putting a photo, but here’s a review with some.
Hey all,
I can not decide on these two bikes. The trek would set me back 5000€ while the R&M comes down to 6300€
I want the belt system, suspension, bosch CX motor, bosch battery
The R&M has a bigger battery and auto gears. I keep hearing the build quality is better too? Does it justify the added cost?
What would you choose? Intended use is anything between 50km and 600km per week depending on weather and other conditions.
I've got an electric bike with Bosch motor and parts. It's about 5 years old with 10k miles. Very occasionally - like twice - the Purion controller would not turn on but it figured itself out after putting the charger on. Then one day after I rode in the rain (with no probems) the next day it only turns on for about 5 seconds before shutting off.
If I ride immediately it works fine for about 1-2 minutes, then turns off. Everything works - strong motor, battery showing 5 green bars, I can change between assist modes... until it turns off. No message, no error. It's then unresponsive for several hours, after which I can repeat the process - it turns on briefly then goes off. When it's unresponsive, I can put it on charger and the battery lights come on but it doesn't charge - it does charge for the brief time the Purion stays on.
Any clues what the problem might be? I'm hoping it's the controller since it works 100% for those 1-2 minutes until it shuts off.
Hi, I have a TFL branded battery. It’s in a Hailong case. It’s 48v 20ah. Cells are Samsung 50E (13S4P) The BMS rating is 40A Continuous, 120A peak??
Does the BMS allow 120A for a short period of time? How is the time regulated? Thanks.
Hello everyone, I'm a first time buyer in the e-bike scene, and from my research I've narrowed down to a few attractive options for my needs. I'm looking for a bike to commute to school with, about 20 miles each way, 40 miles round trip. The attributes I desire the most in a bike are:
Range
Speed (at least 30 mph top speed)
Full suspension
Half/full twist throttle
These are features I'm not willing to compromise too much on. I really like the idea of the Aniioki AQ177 52v and the Wallke H9 AWD 48v. Both can easily get me to and from school without having to worry about the range, as both of them feature huge 60 amp-hour batteries out of the box, they both have similar top speeds, and other similar features I like such as disc brakes and full suspensions. They are also similarly priced. For myself, the main draw-in of the AQ177 is the step-thru frame type, and for the H9 AWD it's the fact it can fold down to a compact footprint when not in use, even if it isn't the sexiest bike. I've also considered the Wired Freedom, but I'm not sure it has the same amount of range I would like for the price, but I do like that it looks more like a regular bike, it's more low key that way. These are features of each of these bikes are just unique to each model, and not necessarily deal makers or breakers.
I wanted to see if any of you own one of these bikes or a model similar, and can help with the pros and cons. I'm open to looking into other bikes that are similar to these, I just figured it'd be helpful to give an idea of what I'm considering because I know the sea of options are endless. I'm new to bikes, but I'm handy with tools and mechanical stuff, so I'm not afraid to install my own upgrades in the future once warranty is expired. Also, I'm about 285 lbs in weight, 5'9" in height, if that helps. Thank you.
Hi, I'm kind of new to bikes and I'm wondering which kind of freewheel do I have (screwed or cassette). Also do you guys have any experience with Yose Power, I'm looking to install a hub drive from them. The bike in question is https://kross-europe.eu/hexagon-5-0-red-gray-black-gloss Thanks :)
Saw this on a local sale by a highly rated seller on Facebook. I'm going to check it out today hopefully. Recently serviced and brakes bled and pads changed. Is this a good deal?
Hello fellows, I'm searching for something like the Garmin devices to use strictly for navigation even in regions without cellular connection (4g). Anyone have experience with those devices? Specific models?
I am also searching for a GPS locator that can reliably track the location of my bike in case it is stolen. Does anyone have any suggestions? I see mixed reviews for certain devices. I don't have an iphone or Samsung to use their Airtag-type devices plus I think it's better if it works with GPS satellites rather than rely on other devices to be around.
Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated 👍
Been commuting on bike for 6 months now. Sometimes doing 28 miles in a day. The whole time carrying the heavy thing on my back. Done 8 miles with the rack and I feel fantastic. It should have been the first thing I bought for the bike. Only cost 12 pound from Temu!
Hi, my rear wheel is creaking and I’m not sure why, I’ve tried playing with the spoke tightness but it didn’t help. Any suggestions appreciated!
I'm fairly new to the ebike market and research (about 3 weeks ago) and it always seems like there is so much new to learn. I was looking at getting a fun, adventure, no-limits bike. I started with loving Juiced's RipCurrent S. Which led me to discover Wired Freedom, which then led me to Ecells Five Star. I just had a few questions that I couldn't get from the website and now have to wait until Monday until when I can chat with someone that I thought maybe some previous users could help me out with:
I read a lot about people wishing they had the 2 battery setup. It seems like more parts to me and I have no idea where it would go, but more use out of it is never a bad thing I guess, plus there's a $500 deal for it and suspension with a better light.
I am very interested in the torque sensor. How has that add-on been for those that have gone that route?
How long is the actual bike? The website says the frame from the center of each wheel is 51.5 inches, but not wheel-to-wheel. I was curious for storage and travel purposes.
The website says they're in stock. Does that mean I get to configure and they put it together and ship or is that more of a factory of pre-built bikes and they may have to build me one if it's not in stock already that way. Also if the custom color paint job they do is nice and recommended colors.
I do not have the expectation to have all of my answers from the community, I just am putting them out and hoping for the best while I wait for Monday. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
I know it’s been asked before and we had comments like ‘why does that bike have just one fork’ as well all sorts of info, a lot of it useful, a lot of it off topic though.
Has anyone succeeded in doing that? I was also looking into getting a rear wheel (geared) hub motor instead but I’d have to deal with figuring out how to add a freehweel sprocket where the cassette usually is as well as getting the rear disc brake to also allign. If anyone has sulutions to suggest to that sort of configuration ant tips would be welcome :)
I got this bike second hand and it already has stats obviously but I want to reset it back to factory so I can see my personal avg speed, max speed and how many miles I've done
