Hi guys,
I just unboxed a new ebike with the promovec 36V battery. Unfortunately, I can’t get the light on tge battery (the back, red light) to work. Is there something you have to do, before the lights will turn on? There is a light switch on the display, but nothing seems to happen when I press or longpress it. The bike is a Mustang Classic Electric.
Thank you
My eBike was stolen some time ago. Since I had the battery in my Apartment and my new eBike has the same (Bosch 750Wh), I now have two batteries.
I'd like to know if it is better to store one of the batteries (both around 2 - 4 Months old) and have it as a replacement, when the one I use eventually dies after some years, or if I should just sell it.
Will the battery be almost as new, if I store it at room temperature, below 80% and above 20% capacity? Or will it still degrade in quality over time just as the one I am using?
Maybe it would be better to change the battery every time after charging it to kinda double the lifespan?
Or should I just sell it now, since it is almost new and was only charged like 4 times? From what I saw resale value in my area is not too great.
I plan to use my bike as long as possible. So if I can use the "old" battery a few years after the "new" battery dies, I would prefere to keep it.
Thank you for any help and have a nice day!
I just picked up a Jasion EB7 2.0. Good performance for the price. But I feel like the gear ratio is off or something. It is always too easy to pedal. Is this what is known as "ghost pedaling?" I feel like I need more resistance to make this feel more natural.
I've read that you can change the cassette out for a different feel. Would this work to make the gears a better match for the pedal assist?
Has anyone changed out their cassette? How did it improve your ride quality?
I have searched Amazon for a bike light but I couldn't find one that would be easy to install and bright. Some key things to take note is that I want it to be mounted on the screw that is on the fork, has 2 functional pins, and is actually bright. I don't want a light that runs on its own battery. I was thinking about getting the Radpower premium headlight but after viewing a post about it, I no longer want it :(. I want something that actually lights up my path at night. Thank you.
Will a SRAM Eagle Transmission be compatible with a cyc X1 pro motor? I don't think the chainrings are compatible, but can't I just put the SRAM chainring onto the cyc X1 pro, or does it not fit?
I was high asl assembling it and the breaks was squeaky so I thought oh oil make em not squeak sprayed it then rode the bike and the brakes didn’t work like at all. I need like 15ft to stop. How could I fix this ? Amyet V9 G60
Sorry to be a total newb here but I tried to find my answers on YouTube with no help. I just got my first e-bike, I went budget friendly to dip my toes in first to see if it’s something I want to do long term. I got a Tamobyke V20 and just finished putting it all together. So how do I ride the thing? I really am not looking to pedal at all or very little. Do I need to use the gear shifter or is that for pedaling only? Should I keep pedal assist on or just turn it off all together? Do I just kick to get a slow roll and hit the throttle or pedal to start then throttle it? Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated…thanks in advance
I have a new fat tire e-bike with about 400 miles on it. The front tire began to lose a ton of air without any sign of damage, so I monitored the air loss a few days and decided to put in a new tube. I inspected the tire, tube, and inside for any issue but everything seemed fine. Even when I removed and fully inflated the inner tube, there was no detectable sign of a puncture. But sure enough - I put the tube in my garage just to watch it and it’s pretty much flat. Classic slow leak.
Put in the new tube and added a puncture liner while I was at it. And from day one, the tire still loses more air than the back. Not like the original tube which got pretty noticeably squishy overnight, but with front and rear inflated to 26psi, after one ride and two days not riding: the front was at 20 and the back 25.4. I checked the bead many times to ensure it was seated properly, but I’m baffled.
What would you do? New tube again? New tire? Take it to a bike shop? I’m riding almost exclusively in city, bike lane/path areas with an occasional jagged curb, but nothing like off-roading or crazy usage.
Would appreciate any ideas.
Has anyone heard of this bike/company before? Is it as good as it seems?
I’m working the election polls and will make around $1,400. Was looking at this E-Bike because it has at least 70 miles of pure electric range. The two primary uses are for 2 person transportation (me and my partner). And for delivering Uber Eats.
I live in a city with not many hills, so steep slopes aren’t much of an issue. I feel like I’ve looked at 100’s of E-Bikes and this seems to give the most range, at the most affordable price, with a seat and weight that can fit 2 people. Extra batteries to extend the distance even more are only $250. And the company literally has every replacement part for the bike at affordable prices.
TL;DR: Need a long range E-Bike that can seat 2 people (minimum 350lbs) for under $1,500. Is this a good choice?
Been testing a ton of e-bikes lately and have landed between these two based on budget and needs.
Does anyone have recommendations on which direction to go?
Hello, I’m new to biking and still learning about bike maintenance. I have a Gotrax F2V2 with tires that have a maximum PSI of 35. Currently, my tires feel firm at only 6.0 PSI, and the bike seems rideable, which has me wondering if this is typical or if my gauge might be inaccurate. I’m using a GPUTEK electric air pump for the first time, so I’m not sure if I might be using it incorrectly or if something else could be affecting the reading. I did recently add FlatOut tire sealant, and I’m curious if that could be impacting the gauge as well. Any guidance would be much appreciated!
Got a deal on a 48v 1800w front hub conversion kit and just need a solid compatible battery. I can't mount the typical style that goes on the center frame, so I'm thinking I need one without a case I can store in the rear rack bag. Would appreciate a few different options, but it's primarily going to be used for short distance rides so I don't need anything crazy.
Hey, This would be my first e-bike, and i want to buy something pretty cheap but not so expensive. I was wondering if this is a good one to buy or not. btw, i’m paying all this for my self my parents are not so if you want to suggest something else please don’t have it be so expensive 😭
Edit: Appologies, should say ebike in title (not abike!) :).
Hey all, currently dont have an id (just birth cert/social/bank card/old expired lic.); would an id be required at a bike shop, before being allowed to make an ebike purchase?
...not sure if they have to do some kinda registration thingy or perform some mandatory age check (though would be obvious well above 18)?
thanks!
oops...also, does a warranty registration (assuming done post purchase & online at customer's leisure?) require an id?
My trusty juiced hyperscorpion was stolen from me. I filed a police report but I'm sure it's as good as gone. I am thinking of an ebike like the super 73 with FS but they seem overpriced and underpowered. I want 30mph and like 25 miles throttle only range with decent parts. I need it for commuting.
3800 miles on my aventon aventure. So far my experience 1- riding experience is very similar riding a normal ebike 2- good customer service (although recently things start to change in bad way) 3- Sturdy frame
Things i don’t like 1- Battery capacity isn’t enough 2- Motor is smooth but not powerful enough. I can experience it on steep hills 3- Rear rack is kind of small . Good for daily chores but don’t expect to carry something heavier
Now thinking to buy another ebike . Do you have any advice
For example, for $1.25k before shipping i can get 72v80ah CATL battery scooter, 8000W motor, 80mph top speed, 14 inch tires, two 72v50a controllers, etc. Why spend $2k on an ebike that goes 25mph? And about safety, the dual telescopic suspensions and 13/14 inch tires are safe enough for the road. Off-road is different. You aren't gonna fall from a pothole, especially if you have good suspensions and large fat tires like that. Cars are infinitely more dangerous than road imperfections. Not to mention, you can put a seat on an escooter. Scooters are also more portable and can fold. So why buy an ebike? In addition, you need to do more maintenance on an escooter and there are more parts that are prone to failure. An escooter is a much more simpler machine
It’s nice out.
Bite size moment.
Some of the connectors are wrong on the eBay “compatible” replacement controller - I’ve always had trouble with these things.
I’ve got the wires right for the battery, charger, motor, and maybe the throttle?
Can’t figure the rest out, and can’t find a working diagram for this controller…
lets say i go for a long ride, and the battery dies when i am 10 miles from home. how hard is it to ride home? is it a lot harder than a non-electric bicycle?
The lady friend and I looked at an Electra Townie at the bike shop today. Built-in battery. My question is, what happens if you ever need to replace or repair that battery? Can it be removed to be serviced? The kid at the bike store didn’t know.
I recently purchased a Velotric T1 Pro carbon bike. It's a very nice bike however, it does not come with the display so you need to download an app and track distance, speed, etc. through their app. I have found that the Velotric app is out by 20%, I have another app (Under Armour) that I track distance and speed on, and my Fitbit also tracks distance and speed. The Under Armour and Fitbit apps are always very close to each other (approx. 0.1% difference.) however the Velotric app is consistently out by 20% on both distance and average speed. I have sent this information to Velotric Support and they claim that it is just the "different ways that different apps track distance". I have sent them screenshots to show that the route traveled was exactly the same in the different apps, but the results are completely different. For example, on one ride the Under Armour app showed 21.14 miles. The Fitbit app show 21.14 miles but the electric app showed 17.0 miles, I also measured the route using Google maps and it shows 21 miles. I have measured the routes in a vehicle and that agrees with the Under Armour, FitBit, Google and vehicle results. The Velotric result of 17.0 miles for this route is impossible. The Velotric support still maintains that it is just the different apps measuring slightly different. I have recorded 7 rides between 15 and 30 miles and the Velotric App is ALWAYS around 20% lower than the other measurements. Has anyone else had this issue?
My tire size is 27.5x2.10
Does anyone know of any good tires i should go with after my tires burnt out after only 204 miles.
I would really want a tire that is mixed thats good for trail and off road use and good on street/pavement use.
I dont really have a price range so all recommendations are appreciated
Im coming from Chao Yang tires that were on my bike when i bought it.
Thanks.
Hey so I bought the regular bikes with the racks I have Retro Spec and Aventon but I carry a lot of stuff so I’m leading towards a cargo bike my commute is 20 miles a day. What do you guys suggest?
I'm currently at a bus stop in town, the bike was running smoothly until I stepped off the bus. As soon as I got off the bus the front wheel seized and won't move. I'm gonna have to push it home with the front wheel in the air and rolled on the back wheel.
Does anyone know how I can fix the wheel so I can ride the bike. I don't know what wrong or what caused the issue.
No wonder people have been getting such great deals recently
